Drew: "No fishing? Under what legislation?"
Secco: "Mate, I don't know. I don't have the paperwork..."
Drew: "It probably would be handy to know"
Ahahahahahaha my sides!
Especially when you're trying to enforce it haha
In a casual aussie manor . rather entertaining .
Top editing Drew - that is a special vid. Not sure what I enjoy more - the fishing or your friendly banter with the knobheads
I applaud you on how calm you are dealing with those clowns 👏🏽 none the less another great video 👍🏽
It's hard to take the threats of those "security" guys seriously, wearing knee length sky blue socks and Bermuda shorts. There has to be a comedy sketch in there somewhere - mind you, it would struggle to be as funny as the real dialogue you have with them, mate. Your comedic timing is perfect!
That conversation with "security" alone is worth a subscription! Cool as a cucumber mate! Love it.
Excellent drone footage and really good fish care. Well done mate. Setting the example !
Hey mate. Just so you know. There’s no fishing in the ocean. Alright.
Hahaha you win the comments section today mate lol
You move in the Wota like a snake Broda ! You are in control !
Looks like a nice day out. I like your boat too. Half your luck. Keep the vids coming. 😃🐟🐟👍
Man the quality of your videos are just insane lately. Thank you for the great work.
These rich people needa pull their heads in!! Deadset! They don't own the water!! Those security had no idea what just hit em mate! Love your work! 😂👌
Awesome vid mate. That intro with the drone footage was tops 👌 Cracking Jack at the end too. #jackoff2019. Im in.
Thanks mate 👍 drones can be a pain in the ass but worth it
Mate, with videos as high quality as these, you deserve 100k+ subs. I mean it. keep up the awesome work!
🙏 thanks mate
Great vid by the way and you conducted yourself in a manner that helps us all. Ive had boats try to run me over while kayak fishing and people throw sinkers from their pontoons lol and their always aggresive not like most of us fisherman
Loving the drone shots , awesome stuff as usual.
Drones can be a hassle...but sooo worth it 👌
Richard Anderson
Yeah. I was impressed with that little bit of drone work. It seems to really put the finishing touches to a video. But going through my mind what he would have had to do to get that footage (unless he had a sidekick) would be a real pain in the arse time consumer. The "follow me" shots with the drone would be in the same category. Top marks to all the guys who go to the trouble of doing this to provide a good product. It is appreciated.
Great movie mate. I could take a leaf from your book fishing in canals. I don’t know how you remain calm hahaha
Mangrove Jacks are one of the greatest fighters pound for pound.!!
Ya gotta feel a tad sorry for the security guards. Some miserable resident has obviously called them and they are obligated to respond. Although, they were hopelessly under prepared. Hahaha. Can’t believe how calm you remained. Nice job. -Mikey 🤠👍🏻🎣🍺🇦🇺
Nice video mate, good to see you care for them and freshen up before sending back 👍
That's it! I much around with them for a min on camera so best to freshen them up..otherwise people hammer me in the comments 😬
Yeah nice, i try to do it so people can understand to give these fighters a real chance to go again another day
Mate, this video got me to subscribe to your channel. Great stuff on jack fishing too. Keep them coming 👍👍
Love the drone footage and editing. Good red dogs too.
where are you catching those snapper or what you call jack because here in florida those would be huge
Was curious what model Dobyns champion casting rod you were using
10-17lb 6'8" 👍
Awesome drone footage at the start keep up the good work #JackOff
Love the vids Drew. Really glad a mate gave me the tip about them as my Mum lives in Golden Beach and we fish together regularly. Quick question - would the view from your chest mounted Go Pro be enhanced if you mounted it on top of your head? When you cast your left arm obscures the view and we miss a lot of potential action from when the lure hits the water to hook up. There is probably a really good reason for the way you do it and happy to learn about your process. Keep 'em coming!
It was marky mark and the funky bunch. Tell mark I said Hi!! Bahahahahahahahahah best vid I've seen so local.
New sub here. Seriously have to catch up for a fish mate. Jacks are on yeeeew
Been waiting all week for this bad boy ❤🐠
Enjoy it mate, I sure did 👍👍
hey mate what size lucky craft are you using, And what's the rod and reel setup in the first catch? cheers
Nice shot of the sunrise!
Keep the great quality coming. Well done!
Epic vid as always mate! just gotta ask what day was this?? I was fishing in that exact area on Friday morning for,m my yak at first light, using almost identical lures, Didn't even get one hit. You cleaned up mate. Good job
Great video Drew. Do you know what decoy hooks did you used on your duo realis? Looked like a great in the water.
We get it over here in WA as well mate, they get all high and mighty because they have money 🤣
great video drew
Hey drew where were u fishing
That would have to be one of the best fisho edits I've watched mate.
You should lucky crafted that pontoon pooch 😂
Would of been your PB for sure 😎
Reckon stick with the Jackoff 2019 😂😂😂😂😂
ADZ Out n about : “pontoon pooch” ... love it.
Next thing they’ll have pontoon pit bulls trained to swim out and chew on kayaks ... lol
Hi mate, does the wind have a bearing on the bite or is it just a pain for the video and the casting, live in Raby and still learning about canal fishing , been a little slow in our canals hoping the warm water turns things on , will try the #jackoff19 in my system as well ha ha thanks legend👍👍
Hey mate, wind affects bream in the canals for sure. They need that little bit of ripple on the water to have the confidence to really come out and hit a surface lure or crankbait. Those canals you're on are particularly tough for bream..very clear. I've done the best in there first two hours of the morning. Once that sun gets high it seems to shut them down abit. I don't think the jacks care about the wind but they follow the bait so generally of the wind is blowing down into the end of the canal it's a good spot for bait to hold.
Drew M thanks mate that’s awesome to know , cheers for the help 👍👍
Hi Drew, what lure did you use on this session. Thank you in advance
Geez Drew.... Is it really worth the hassle anymore to fish the gold coast canals? Amazing reactions...
This is the only bloke I know who chucks back mangrove jacks😭
frontage on the Gold Coast and an ever increasing number of recreational water users, the potential exists for conflict between waterfront property owners and people using the adjacent waterways.
Any waterfront property owners or regular water users reading this could probably relate a relevant story. The writer has personally observed an upset waterfront property owner throwing rocks at a kayak fisherman, fishing in the adjacent canal, encouraging him in an enthusiastic fashion to “get off his water”.
So who owns the water?
Like most things, this is a subjective question. However, the starting point is that tidal waterways and established bodies of water are usually state-owned and that freehold property titles usually extend only to the high water mark. This means adjacent waterways and foreshore areas below the high tide mark are public areas, open to access and use by members of the public. In the example relayed above, the kayak fisherman was not exceeding his access rights and was entitled to be on the public waterway.
However, different areas can have different rules. For example, the master planned developments of Sanctuary Cove and Hope Island do include areas of waterways as common property areas in various body corporate schemes. Ephraim Island is similar. The bodies corporate for these areas can impose rules about access to these areas of water, including the restriction of access to members of the general public. Similarly, many marina areas are governed by a state lease over the water areas, which does allow the marina operator to impose rules about access and use also.
The water is there for all of us to use and you’re exactly 100% correct they don’t own the water it’s a simple as that everywhere that you are fishing you are legally allowed to fish debate closed see you on the water 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Last count Ephraim Island had 14 body corporates running the joint... By the time they've all come to a conclusion about moving you on - it'd be next week...
Great man...rod and reel?
Dobyns 10-17lb 6'8" and 13 fishing concept Z 👍
Hey mate what tide were you fishing?
13:19 any bloke with socks like that is an instant tosser
Hard to take seriously haha
What pound line do you use
God Drew is it worth it, fishing is supposed to be relaxing, dealing with the knobs that think they own the ocean.
what system u fishing in, nice vid
Great video mate keep em coming
What leader you running and i will have to.say one of my favourite videos yet man love it
Running 30lb Fc rock 👌👌
What pound line and leader?
Constructive video suggestion: you show a lot of casts, which is cool. Every time you do, I want to see it hit the water, but your arm is in the way or you quick cut away. It's precision casting and should be shared!
Ok cool..I always figured it would be boring to people. Thanks for the suggestion 👍
Police wanna be’s. You were a lot more polite than I would have been mate. Great vid Drew.
Amazing video...
Just wondering why people get so upset when you fish in the canals outside their property? Its not like they own the water too?
Keep the videos coming...I wish I was in a warm country...canals in the UK are shit...
Nice size red snapper...
Cracka vid mate please make more jack vids
Is that in birkdAle
Great vid mate, epic camera work at the start. It would be a laugh to print off the relevant legislation with the relevant bits highlighted so you could just hand it to them with a big "fuck you" grin....
Hows the one lady you just straight up
ignore XD Mate my stomach was hurting when you were talking to the anti fishing kooks XD
fuck i love howcalm you are during those discussions bro..... i'd lose my shit and end up having to go so i dont get arrested lmao
Best way to annoy them is being calm and collected and waiting for them to say some stupid
I don't know how you stay so relaxed when you get stopped so much but i love how you handle it mate, your channel deserves to be huge #jackoff2019
glad i live in mackay and fish here no way i could deal with that shit good vid well done
Hey mate where bouts do you fish anywhere near Yamba nsw
First pontoon dog haha tried fishing there and same thing happened to me
What’s your camera setup mate
The Jack Lure Marathon ? Good video again mate. Don't those same laws that you have put up during one of your other videos still apply ? I thought if it was tidal (other than the known caveat ie privately excavated etc.) then it was public property ?
Yeh there is a bunch of different legislation that will support fishing there..I just wanted to see if they had any BS up their sleeves haha
what little microphone do u use on your gopro
It's just a cheap lav mic off eBay. I find they last as long as the expensive ones anyway
Drew I live in Victoria and me and my mate would get hassled by security and even the Commodore of the Geelong yacht all the time so we rang the authorities and found out the actual laws so we hen we get hassled we just fire back with the facts works every time
good on you for having the patience mate, if that happened to me ide remember all their addresses and leave them a little....suprise..... at their front door
First comment! Loving your shit bro keep it up can’t wait to get out and test all the new season gear and smash some jacks
I think it will be a very good season
Fingers crossed ahah
holy shit mate, how do yoh have sooo many lucky craft pointers? they definetly dont come cheap🤣
awesomw video mate, loved it
Doesn't matter how many I have now..that lure is retired for this season hahaha you want a couple..going cheap 😉
almost identical to our mangrove snapper in the US
mate come fish near our pontoon in ppoint, would love to learn some tips off you!
Good stuff mate 👍
Bit of fuel in water there
quality video mate
It's not that we cannot afford to feed the poor, but that we cannot afford to satisfy the rich.
I'm thinking #jackoff2019 sounds good haha. Such a nice session in the forbidden lands. Only the brave have the courage to withstand the barrage of negativity from the townsfolk.
Hahaha love your vid man keep it up
That is a mangrove snapper in the states
Keen for more jack vids
get them big reds.
I too enjoy trying to own large expanses of ocean because my jetty sticks out 10 metres into it
Drew you need to make a big sign/sale that says "Im just fishing, fuck off!"
8:30, you and trespassing agin !
nice🙏🎣
Great vid mate, like always👌😁 My #JackOff2019 starts tomorrow, I'll be sure to post🤞
Your real polite in the face of arseholes...and a great fisho👍👍👍
The catty was still on holidays from Brisbane . Didn't want to deal with the traffic .
Hey Drew M I love the #Jackoff2019 !!
Yew 🤙🏼nice on Drew! There will always be those dicks that think they own the water unfortunately.
On the up side, another ripper vid and keep it up ✌🏼
Bunch of short haired Karen’s in the area
can i speak to your manager!
Hahahah
We call those snapper
Bloody unreal Drew you seem to attract all the two bob fun police, i reckon you should have a printed flyer with the laws etc on it and give them to these so called law knowing citizens. as for the Jack off mate your the best jerker and as you said you love it lol. yep those lucky craft pointers are the go. back to the jetty jerkers, as you say they dont own the water and if your not touching there jetty or 30K paint job on their boat ( the painter saw him coming, tosser) they cant tell you to move on or stop fishing, a letter drop to these canal estates with the laws covering the canals would be good but imagine the uproar from the chosen ones. Keep fishin mate, great session and self control. Funny how some people talk to a fisherman and ask advice and are so friendly and grateful for your time and yet the chosen jetty trolls are just rude and angry and so un informed. Go The Drew Meister.
It only seems to be the gold coast where people are like this. Up on the sunny coast people will have a 30 minute chin wag with you if you let them.
nice vid
I'm new and I was wondering, where the hell do you fish at, and wow alot of high houses, what city, state or what ever there are called lol, answer and i will subscribe to your chanel
*”F$@**#ing** every time”*
Was just about to say that every time i see your videos this happens😂
Quick question have you seen any permit / snub nosed dart in the cannals lately?
We have a pack of 12 that swim up and down and eat little baitfish
Hey Drew you should make a video on people telling you off I'll be like a comedy video you can call it 'Drew and his people' LMAO you'll probably get like 50k likes lol
Awesome 👏😎🎣🎣🎣👌👍👍. Why does the world hate fisherman? Most of the time we trow the fish back, unless it’s a really tasty 😋 one ☝️😁😉. You can’t fish in the 🌊 Ocean, your trespassing lmao 😂😁. If they only knew we are all laughing at them on UA-cam now 😂😂😂🤣. Good job, really nice fish, and a boat. 👍👍👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣🎣😂🙏😎😁
The installation of private water jetties and pontoons onto the public waterways can cause some confusion. Currently, the installation of a jetty or pontoon by a waterfront property owner needs prior Gold Coast City Council approval, with authorisation from the Gold Coast Waterways Authority as a referring agency.
Without that approval, a property owner has no right to install such a structure. It is important to note that the approval only gives rights to the installation and use of the structure. It does not grant any ownership rights over the water area surrounding the structure, and the approval by the relevant authority will be given in consideration of the provisions of the Coastal Protection and Management Act 1995.
A guiding principle of this act is that the general public’s right of access to the tidal foreshore must be maintained. The structure is the property of the owner, however, and the general public cannot access or damage the structure.
Agreed. The problem I think is they are sold these properties as "private waterfront" so I think the real estate agents and body corporate are as much to blame for the confusion
Lets all converge and fish the back of "Karen's" house next week end?
Drew should do this at shorncliffe for a laugh will do it once my moters broken in I know my laws and I know they don't own the water just the poontoon they own and their small water burth
Talking about cabbage tree creek?
@@DrewMinto yep about 50m from the ramp on your left
