It was nice of them to invite Derik to watch them play Magic
And letting him win.
That was a "Steven Bradbury" style game if ever I've seen one. (Aussie Ice skater that was down by like half a lap from the other 3 finalist ahead of him. They all fell over on the last corner and he just skates past for a gold medal)
@@ThatHoodlum19 Don't forget the important addition to that story: the exact thing happened in the qualifier that even let him go to the Olympics. That's what makes it his signature move.
Ouch.
Luigi wins by doing absolutely nothing
I don't think Derik got enough praise for "Clifford the big gruul dog"
So Slogurk and steady won the race.
i was thinking that!
is this what happens when Jimmy hits land drops?? That was like that scene from Dragon Ball where Goku takes his weights off and goes insane
best comment
Jimmy is honestly a disgustingly good deckbuilder. That's why life nerfs him with low land draws. Otherwise he would stomp every game and then lose to a missplay XD
@@digitalk1llraymon448 how can he a pretty good deckbuilder, if he ignores the golden rule and runs too few lands?
@@mofomiko What would a good amount of lands be for you? Because for me, my lands usually go from 32-39 on non landfall decks. My ideal pick for lands is 35-37. But sometimes through testing you realize that you have too much lands to what you made.
@@digitalk1llraymon448 i'd say same as you, but i only go below 36, if i have a good reason, including mdfcs.
Maybe the ol'Jimbo changed his deckbuilding a bit these days, but a few years back he ran like 33-34 lands, even in not so low cmc decks
Just imagine how different the game would have been if Jimmy would have countered that Orb
2 ulamoga lol
The maze was more of a pain for him.
Or if he hadn't thrown by casting that Voidslime for no reason... he would've had the counterspell for Constant Mists!
@@therealax6 lol wait yeah hahaha
@@therealax6 did he have enough damage tho?
It's hilarious that the whole game was Jimmy and Ken kaiju battling each other with Rachel poking her head in now and again and Derrick just slow rolling the whole table lol
Jimmy really should've negated Derrick. 😅
@madhatten00 if he didnt negate zom, then deerik chump blocks twice pako and lives only misplay was akromas will
@Someone-lg6di I wouldn't mind letting him chump block with his land. Eventually the three of them could've worked to remove Derrick from the game. Instead jimmy basically let the game turn into a ticking time bomb for everyone else except Derrick who barely taps anything anyways since his deck was clearly built around stall.
Commander is often about being the LEAST threatening til the very end.
Crim will hate this, the fog meta is real.
Time to break out the Questing Beast!
Constant mists is fun in my yedora deck
I have lost 4 games in the last month to the fog meta, it IS real!
Jimmy won that game lmao he just countered a Zombie for no reason to let his opponent have a win
Lmao this was the same energy as Luigi winning Mario party by doing nothing. I love a durdle win, sometimes being the least threatening is the most dangerous.
But was he the least threatening though? Considering the victory was decided by mill, Mesmeric Orb was a crutial playmaker the entire game, especially with how down-the-line that last turn ended up being. That's not even going into what he milled, depriving the blue players of alot of resources and just generally sapped away alot of stuff that would've been trouble. Hell, one could even argue that Rachel getting value from her GY was an advantage of it's own kind, as it drew ire and attention towards her as well as kept piling pressure onto the others. Never underestimate the threat-level of mill.
I dunno why Pako was allowed to stay that long lol
Can I just say, I freaking love the new arcade aesthetic?! So cool! 💜💜💜
Loving the new old school arcade vibe of Extra Turns.
I really hope this Ken guy can finally tell me what EDH stands for
If you don't know EDH stands for Egon's Demonic Housing :P
ELDER DRAGON HILANDER
Excellent display of homies.
Electronic Dance House
Enjoyment doesn't happen
Love Ken's face when Jimmy lets mesmiric orb resolve
The worst misplay of the game.
Rachel didn’t give Ken a spirit token from skyclave apparition, brutal
I have to say, I love the retro computer game graphics in this video. the way the names of the players are spelled out, the way everyone loses life, and all that, super flavourful. I'm a huge fan of retro stuff, when you make everything look like space invaders or Super mario 1 or any of these old retro games.
lol its actually a pretty hilarious episode. Derik pretty much didn't do anything the entire game but play the mesmeric orb and that is the card along ulamog that won the game.
This game felt just right for something featuring the Mana crew
Seeing fog and mill win a game puts a smile on my face
"I'm gonna untap, pray to any god that'll listen, draw."
Five minutes in and it's already painfully relatable.
Ken tapping for that migration path was the best
Epic taping for a not so epic spell 😂
how to win a game of commander:
1) play mesmeric orb
2) watch everyone kill each other
I really appreciated Rachel’s and Derick’s deck with alters and signatures
I feel like Rachel made too many enemies when Jimmy was the archenemy. He would've just died due to Ulamog/mesmeric orb.
If she just sat on her hands for like two turns, or made any decision that wasn't bullying Ken I think she'd have locked the game up on the spot.
@@DefinitelyNotReal627yea, her decisions made no sense. She kept focusing Ken when Jimmy was stronger
Gotta love that “law and order” intro from Rachel 😂
This is a good group. have these guys back more!
The fog meta is real! Fun decks, and sweet games!
One of the best extra turns episodes yet. James Franco at home played very well
pretry sure Jimmy was thinking of Grolnok with all those ribbit references 😂 great game!
Nice to see Jimmy not get mana screwed for once 😂
Derik there like the Godzilla meme "let them fight..."
I won't lie to you, Rachel windmill dunking a won game directly into the trash cause she just couldn't help herself picking on Ken is hilarious.
It's cause ken had ulamog on the table. She plays like whatever looks like a threat = must take it out.
@madhatten00 how was Ken's board stronger than Jimmy's?
@@rudysal1429 it wasn't, it just looks scarier just he got big fat scary beat stick; Rachel had that tunnel vision
Crazy game - felt like there wasn't enough removal around for the Orb and Pako. Also Ikoria had so many good cards that you still see in almost every Commander game
The weird thing is, I'm not sure if they missed the cast Ulamog trigger (he exiles two permanents when he's cast), Ken could have easily exiled both the dog and the orb in one fell swoop with that trigger.
@@luketfer That is a cast trigger. Ulamog only entered the battlefield through Elvish Piper, so it can't trigger that effect
@nohobbyuser123 aahh that makes sense, I missed that he used Elvish piper to get him on the board
@@luketfer imagine if the creature wasn't put into the battlefield but cast without paying mana cost...eww
I always like to call Slogurk "Go-Gurt", because it's amusing to me.
That was the most valid way to scoop without scooping. You could just instant speed concede and accomplish the same thing, but instead she chose to actually use game actions to trigger her death.
I too thought it was creative. A frowned upon action in most play groups but at least she did it creatively
I think flat out conceding is frowned upon if it has a gameplay effect. But if it’s a game action that kills you then people are a lot more understanding.
I could watch Rachel play commander all day. Such a great deck builder and pilot! That was just mono-white goodness at its best.
Jimmy not immediately killing the biggest threat player at the first possible opportunity disappoints me.
Been a while since I've seen a Mesmeric Orb stick around for so long
Someone needs to send this to Richard at mtg goldfish for the fog meta win!!!!
I liked how Rachel’s outfit coordinated with her commander Mangara, the Diplomat
Props to Rachel for finding a way to scoop at instant speed with card rules. Top tier pettiness 👍
That Rachel play was serious 4D chess at the end
Okay, the Splatoon Charger sound effect when Sword of Feast and Famin was amazing
This was a really interesting game! I usually hate mill but sometimes it actually serves as a backdoor to check a runaway player with overwhelming board presence and card advantage to keep the game interesting and advancing the clock.
Still digging the 8-bit aesthetic. Props to the graphics department.
Me here as I am building my Pako Haldan deck: THIS is why every deck needs one fog!
Gameplay starts at 4:47
Love seeing Derik's Slogurk deck in action!
Dang crew, the pixel art profiles are BONKERS! Looks amazing
39:33 that is a _flashback,_ I haven't heard that music since it was Achievement Hunter's ending screen music
Rachels monarch play had huge effect in that end game
The one thing that always comes into my mind when i see the ultrapro-ad: only suitable if you live in north america.
The shop is also available in EU, but shipping is always from america, which means 50$+ shipping. Sadly they have no distribution in EU... so many things i wanted to get there, but not going to pay that shipping fee.
The silly thing about Gaea's Blessing with Mesmeric Orb is that it doesn't shuffle in the cards that were milled with Orb after the Blessing was milled
Rules question: When Rachel left the game should her exiled cards with Pako still remain available or seize to exist and be removed from the exiled pile?
When a player leaves the game, everything they own leaves the game with them. That includes the cards that were exiled to Pako but haven't been played yet.
Removed. Pako's attack went down if you watched.
I had a Nadaar monowhite goodstuff deck like Rachel's that pulled a lot of aggro from turns like the one she got! Sadly I had to put it apart since I struggled in ways to find a win and dragged long games in my LGS and playgroups. Gotta love monowhite.
🥳🥳🥳One More Mana! Their channel is so funny, they deserve the exposure
It felt like Derik was the guy who got an A in a group project when he didn't do anything 😂
This game was a lesson in the benefits of just sitting quietly in 4th place 😅
Derik: "I'm not proud to admit this, but I just kept crawling and it just kept working."
“It makes buying cards more fun than playing them” 😂
What a game! Finally got to see Jimmy’s Pako deck and wow it did work even functioning on 1/4 of a library 😂
Also love the retro re-skin if I haven’t said it already! 👍
One of my favorite decks I have is my budget Haldan and Pako deck that I got the idea for when Jimmy did his budget list a while ago. They’re so much fun!
"You gotta think?"
"No."
🤣🤣🤣
"Pass to you, Ken" sounds like "Hadou-ken" I see what you did there Rachel
Love seeing Rachel show the power of mono white, and the OMM guys were awesome! Congrats on winning Dave Franco!
Ken just tapping his lands like some kind of heathen 😂
Rachel saying "I will draw a Magic card" *got* me for some reason.
Rachel making Jimmy lose the sword was kinda cringe but overall good episode!!
Spoilers:
Hmm, maybe that mesmeric orb should have drawn out Jimmy's counterspell
The only Channel where I actually watch the ads
That Extra Turns intro, man... really cool and solid.
I don't think I have EVER seen any one die to a Fog effect.
Just...
WOW!
As alway, absolutely love watching. Best videos on UA-cam hands down. Top notch
I love how Rachel's deck went off
Yeah pako is just built like that. Card advantage, resource denial and killing power on one card
SPOILERS:
Cc the goldfish guys… the FOG meta is realllllllll. Also great game, so glad to see the Manasquad on the channel!
@@matthugenberg8869but he didn’t lol, because no one expects the fog. If you’re playing around the fog, then the meta is real lol
Jimmy is making up for every missed land drop he's ever had on this episode
Jimmy shoulda ran a Rancor for that puppy
Rachel all i could think is the intro to law & order 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love how Derik basically did nothing the whole time, but also kinda killed everyone
Masterful play by Derrick. Always love OMM.
I feel like im watching a playthrough of “Snatcher” with this music and i love it.
I haven't been keeping up too closely but I feel like there's a lot of new little animations and sounds and a new intro? And I absolutely love them
Prime example of what happens when Jimmy finally gets his land drops.
Threat. Assessed.
played against a mesmeric orb on mtga, they could even play cards from graveyard but never played a win con. they just tap out every turn to play more things to increase mill/card draw and milled themselves out
Video starts at 2:36
See everyone hates on fog effects but I see them win games out of nowhere all the time
That's the playstyle. Just negate damage nonstop till you win. I'm surprised no one had boardwipes. But the orb made everyone basically mill their decks to the gy so maybe they never drew the wipe answers.
Derik winning because he's desperately trying to mill and actually manages somehow to mill almost the least is kind of hilarious.
08:32 odb shoutout noticed and appreciated
🤣 the one that I didn’t think would win, won. I love it.
Probably one of my favourite extra turn episodes!
Metal Claw sound effect, Shovel Night, Splatoon Charger sound, I'm hearing so many familiar sounds lol.
That Rachel turn was craaaaaazy. What's the power level of these decks btw? They look REAL good!
Probably didn't matter, but at 07:25 if Jimmy wasn't satisfied with the cards he's seen with Mirri's Guile, he could have shuffled with Pako's partner ability 😊😊😊
Love those Ice Age lands 👌
These guys make Commander look like so much fun. Then you go to your LGS and it's usually not lol
Great match, it was really interesting to see how the low profile won
Great game guys! Happy holidays, and thanks for the awesome entertainment.
Love seeing mono white do mono white things!
6:18 omg, has Jimmy finally learned how to land his deck properly? X'D
I have a mangara clerics deck and I was so excited when Rachel played devoted caretaker!!!
