  • Have you ever wondered why Billy Joel was listing so many things? Have you ever felt insecure because your friends engage in deep and frequent discussions of all the historical events Billy Joel has an interest in, while you're left on the sidelines? Did you ever watch that bit on Family Guy when Peter sings it and thought "Haha yeah"? Well worry no more. Here is a brief overview of everything he was singing about. I've now listened to the song so many times and I still don't even know if I like it or not. Is it even good? Does anyone know? I would do the Fall Out Boy remake but I was alive for all of those so it's less interesting. Maybe I'll make another video in thirty years.

Hello everyone, there's a mistake in the video. I said John Glenn was the first American in space, but he was actually the first American to reach orbit. He was preceded by Alan Shepard and Gus Grissom, who both entered space but did not reach orbit. They are cool.

    Two minor corrections:
-Rosa Parks was actually seated in the "colored" section of the bus. But, the white only seats filled up, so the bus driver ordered Parks to stand up so a white lady could have her seat. Which makes the whole thing even more ridiculous.
-Niel and Buzz are the first humans to visit another celestial body, but not a planet, since the moon is just a satellite of Earth.

@@usedtoexist very cool...but some day, perhaps soon, someone will step foot on mars and be the first human to ever visit another planet.
spacex is making progress to that end. it will also be the first time a private citizen stepped foot on another celestial body.
i look forward to that day...i sure hope they make it back.

Gen X: Yes, yes, Boomer history. We get it, history began when you were born.
Gez Z: I thought YOU were a Boomer.
