- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- Installed only the leach field and d box. This whole system is for 2 mobile homes. I have one 1000 gallon Infiltrator tank with 2 9x75 leach fields. This system requires a master d box. The master d box will distribute evenly to the 2 other d boxes running to the 2 leach fields. First step, leveling d box. Then running schedule 40 to chambers on level. Install leaching chambers and back fill! Don't forget to give a big thumbs up and mash the subscribe button!
I will be installing power meter and breaker panel on next video! See you all there!

Alot of things I didnt mention in the install so I did another septic ua-cam.com/video/wVrOz-LTJr4/v-deo.html
When you drive over what happens if the chamber side push down into the soils couple inches will that throw off the pitch? Doesnt seem like pipe runs the length of the camber are they just to create a void underground and level doesn’t need to be perfect except for the first one.
The pipe goes into the chamber just a few inches. As long as the ground is within 1 inch of level from front to back. You will be fine. If the chamber does go into the soil just a few inches you can shim it up. Honestly I dont see iflt hirting anything. If the inspector is checking it. Do it right
Even though I’m very familiar with septic systems I really enjoyed watching a professional at work. I learned some new things and have benefited from your experience. Thanks
Thank you Joe! You're the best!!
Great job, Sir. I saw how ell this video started then got a quick look at your piers, and thought to myself, "Wow, those look great. I'll bet he installed them too."
It looks like you have decent soil for drainage. Regarding driving over the chambers, you shouldn't have a problem if everything Is dry with your soil type. Although they're designed to replace having to use gravel, a 2-4" covering with unwashed limestone gravel settles in and helps distribute the weight off the soil above it, aids drainage and lets the clay above shift and give untill it settles in really well, minimizing any problems driving over it. Great job.
Thank you! I was really doubting some of it but you must know quiet a bit about this kind of work! Thanks alot!
A small track hoe is a lot faster than the rubber tire back hole
That little girl was working much harder that all of you. 😂😂😂👍
I know right! Lol
Its funny how different jurisdictions have different codes. Around here they won't let you put the infiltrators closer than 10 feet apart. They also warn you to avoid driving the machine in the trench or over the infiltrators. They don't actually say they will fail you if they see tire marks in the trench but I suspect they would take a dim view on it.
It's different everywhere I have done a test and had a gopro inside a chamber and ran over it with a tractor
Yeah its more about soil compaction rather than collapsing the pipe. I just made sure I hand raked any tractor tire marks out before inspection..:). Nice job BTW.@@hurley001
Nice video good installation !
Thank you
Nice work.
Good content, but the camera was jerking and rolling all over the place. Aside from that, thank you for showing us how this is done. Did you have to get the soil 'perc-tested' to make sure absorption was acceptable?
Yes I had to get a perc test by the health department. This soil is clay, so I was required to make a larger bed for absorption
@@hurley001 Perk tests are a joke. Typically the problem with drain fields is water retention in a given area after a long rain. If you have a field under an area that water runs off of it can have the same results from a perk test as the spot that the water gathers in.
Clay is a problem...PERIOD.
It is for sure
Great video. Question for you. Can you elaborate more on why you had to go 2.5 inches up on the laser rod before digging trench for Infiltrators?
I did this to make sure that I was not going to be above my grade by any measurement
Dude thank you so much for making your videos!
I hope this helped. If you need any measurements or tips on how to do anything with your system, let me know. You can join my discord for quick chat

What is the point of the chambers? I see people using just the perforated pipes and others using chambers. Is there an advantage to one over the other? What is the cost difference?
Depending on the cost of rock and pipe, it can be cheaper to go with a gravel bed. The pros to a chamber system, you will have more volume of water to go into your bed vs a rock system. The installation process is easier in my opinion for the chambers.
Awesome video!
Thank you!
Great job.
Thank you!
They claim to be able to take 16,000 lbs per axle with 24 inch of protection over top
Great video👍👍👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you g
did you level each section of chamber as you went? I'm considering installing my own to replace a failing system. i'm hoping i can do 9x50 feet since i have two septic systems for this 3/2 house. If i have to i'll go 12x50 and take out some trees. I guess the first step is a perc test to see how big of system i need.
If you have clay 4 soil do 9 wide by 75
Leveled as I went
What caused yours to fail
@@hurley001 roots! i've got roots growing into the exit pipe from the tank. House was built in 1980 and has a system on both sides. They used black corrugated pipe coming out the tank which was no match for tree roots. Guessing the same pipe is in the leach field. I assume the field is full of roots, but i haven't dug it up. I believe i found the Dbox just a few feet from the tank and it had a thick black rubber top which crumbled. it looked like tire rubber it was that thick. i expected to find a cement dbox like the tank.
@@hurley001 this is North central Florida, it's mostly sand. I've dug 6 feet down near the house and never hit clay. if i go to the back of my 2 acres where it slopes i can hit clay at about 4 feet and it's some tough stuff to dig through.
How has the chambers performed for you in this video? I have the chambers and will be installing my first system soon to replace my failed system. Debating whether to do a bed install like you did or separate trenches
I have 4 of these systems now. None has failed
What happened to the test bits you buried? Did they collapse after driving over them?
I'll post the video. It didn't collapse
Hello, I’m doing this at my place but the soil is all clay, should I add a bed of gravel before I lay the chambers?
Thank you
Honestly if you wanted to go a little deeper and add a bed of #2 rock. It prolly won't hurt. I did this to one of my other systems and it works well
I didnt see any primer or glue , do you have to glue the 90s only?
Glue it all
Will this system work for a failing leach field and what would be the approximate cost, thanks
Jeff, are you wanting to put this system in the exact spot of your failing bed? If so, not likely. When a bed is failing the ground is sealed by biomat. Causing the soil to not accept any effluent. How do you know your bed is failing
What was the result of driving over these chambers. I am getting ready to install a system and I wonder if I need to fence off the area where the chambers are.
@charles stonex. I havent uploaded a video of it because I sold my pc. But yes you can drive over them. Just make sure you let the earth settle prior to running over top of them.. long term. I wouldnt recommend driving over them constantly.but they did hold up with my 12,000 lbs tractor
@@hurley001 Good answer. I was more concern about occasionally driving my pick up or JD 38HP tractor over it. Thanks for the info.
@@chuckstonex1632 I think you will be fine. What type of soil do you have
@@hurley001I'm not sure exactly. I'm in central Texas. We had a survey done last year for a new system and as I recall it was of caliche and clay???
@@chuckstonex1632 I think you will be fine
I have a similar project going on right now how many houses/Mobile Homes are you able to run on that system ? Thx 🙏
The soil is clay #4. Only one home on this system.. the better the soil percolation the smaller your system can be.. this is the biggest system in our area
What is the cost of this system thanks
if you do it yourself, you are looking close to $2,000 That is the tank, chambers, d box and pipe. This is in clay soil. If you are in good soil, it will be much cheaper, because you wont have as much chambers to install.
Why did you use 2 d boxes and would 3 30 foot lines work for one mobile home
I used 3 d boxes. First d box off the tank equally distributed to the 1st and 2nd leach field. Each leach field has it's own d box to evenly distribute to the row of chambers. My 3 lines of 75 feet were because of the soil percolation test. I have clay soil. Therefore needed more coverage for water to percolate. Your solid may be better and can use less of field
Does pipe go all the way through the chambers or only at the inlet hole?
Only a few inches inside
@@hurley001 thank you. Can you explain how it works ? The water doesn't just drain there and stay in the first chamber? It will continue all the way down the chambers?any answers or advice you give me will be appreciated
Id like to know also!
@@joshuabradshaw3050GoodQuestion
@joshuabradshaw3050 in a perfect scenario. Everytime effluent enters the distribution box. It will send flow evenly into each set of chambers. If the ground is level. Under the chambers. The effluent will spread out across the soil evenly and percolate into the ground. The chambers are basically a holding tank for the effluent until the soil is ready to accept it
Do you rent these mobile homes out? I just put in a third mobile home to rent but ran into an issue with the old septic we had. Was thinking of doing it myself but the concrete septic tanks are pushing 10,000lbs and unfortunately we have people waiting on it. I plan to have 6 mobile homes at this location and was wondering if I should just go with one large conventional system. We have 5 acres with 3 systems already but the old third one failed.
I'd go with this type. They weigh about 350 lbs. Much easier to handle with a few guys.. and yes I rent these
You can go with a treatment plant but if you plan to have 6 mobile homes, it will be cheaper to do 1 system per lot.
With a drain field using only two lines of perforated pipe, should one of the pipes be in direct line with the septic tank outlet pipe? Or, can they be staggered on either side of the outlet pipe?
They dont have to be in a direct line be sure to use a distribution box and you can run one field in any direction that is within you code and the same with the other field
ARC 36 series chambers are not rated to drive over
They arent. But they have held up in clay with a vehicle over them.
Definitely want to run over it.
I have
Nice set up, have you seen those filters that you put in the septic tank to keep solids from getting into the drain field?
Yes I have. Do you use them?
@@hurley001 yes I do use them they seem to be doing well so far. nice peace of mind knowing a bunch of debris wont plug the drain field.
Do you have a link for these filters? i'm going to attempt adding a leach line at my house in Phx Az. There is no filter on my septic and i'm wondering if I need to add a filter of some sort
@@jobsforjoggerspetit6530 you will have to purchase them off your local septic dealer
@@jobsforjoggerspetit6530 There are a few places on the web that carry them. o a search for Polylok PL-122 Effluent Filter & Housing. Prices vary so shop around.
how is that system working and is that clay soil?
Clay soil. How wouldnt it work?
@@hurley001 clay soil is heavy and not very good drainage, I have a mountain full of it.
@@olddave4833 yes it is. Inspector said i would have to install the biggest bed in the county
@@hurley001 we try to keep those inspectors away from our jobs, they went to school and have a degree but we have the knowledge from practical experience,, many times they do over kill costing lots more money just to protect their job.
@@olddave4833 how to get around the inspection? Aep wont set power without a sticker from inspector
I'm going to try adding a leach line at my house. Does anyone know how well these would work in Phoenix Az? Would it benefit me to add gravel under the chambers to help it percolate? Does anyone know how close to a saguaro cactus I can safely be with these systems?
I dont know how close to a cactus. But we have to be 10 feet or more from a waterline. Gravel wont be a benefit. The chambers are meant to fill with effluent, then percolate into the ground.. the old gravel system had to have gravel to create a void in the ground for the water to rest and percolate.
We have to be 50 feet from a water well. If you use gravel in the chamber. The less effluent it will hold.
It was good until the music.
I agree.
Are you in ALABAMA
Kentucky. But I get that alot
Great video. Why can't I see your or anyone else's replies to comments?
I'm not sure. I can see them. Click on filter and make sure it is set to all
That system should never back up😁
I hope not haha
Did I hear him say 9 mobile homes on that system 😳😳
No. 9 mobile homes on the lot haha
That system would be backed up weekly if that were the case haha
@@hurley001 not 9 on that one system. Ok
How can you pass inspection if you don’t conform to the minimum separation between rows of infiltrators?
Each county has different codes. Our code minimum has no seperation

hurley_001 in what country/state was this deployed?

We have 9 foot on centers here in nc kinda fucked me on my mountain home. Had to put 60 ft of line up the hill
