Modem- modem is used to convert anlog signal to digital singnal( modem pahle use hote the kyu ki pahle telephone wire se internet provide hota thaaur telephone wire me anlog signal hota tha)
Router- router is used to convert digital siginal of modem to wifi ,so that multiple device can get internet ,it can be wired or wireless
Jiofiber/airtelextreme --
In these there is a single device because signal obtain by them through the fiber wire is allready a digital signal thats why they not need sepreately modem and router.😊😊😊

I use wireless router. Its in my kitchen, so signal in living room is a bit bad, so i use my old router as repeater, and i have connected ethernet cable to my PC.

Basically there is no Modem. They use PPPoe protocol for authentication and fiber optic is used a media.
I the past, companies were using modem to connect and router were used for routing of data packets.
