For the 2005, 2006, 2007 seasons Arenas averaged 25.5, 29.3, 28.4 points per game. He was ranked 7th, 4th and 3rd in the whole NBA for scoring average in those seasons. No other dudes here were even close.

Rashad McCants played 249 total games in the NBA averaging 10 points a game, Gil played 555 games averaging 20.7 PPG, basically twice as good as Rashad.
Gil played a lot injured too later in his career which lowered his average. Pre injury Gil was a top 5 player.
If you isolated each players best 3 year stretch of their careers and compared them Gil destroys everybody

At that time the players ahead of him were Tim Duncan, Kobe, Lebron, D Wade, Melo, Paul Pierce, KG, Steve Nash, Dwight, Dirk, Chris Paul, and I’m sure there’s a few others that I’m leaving off. The league was stacked with talent. As great as Gil was individually he never had any major playoff success.

CP3 and Dwight didn't really come into super start status until 2008 and Paul Pierce himself said he started to want out of Boston so his play had been slipping.

Funny things is Mccants is an UNC legend won a chip and made it to the league 1st rd. Gilbert got to ncaa tourney at ARI kept working and became a top scorer in the NBA for 3-4 yrs.
