Simracing is difficult. Learning how to drive fast takes time, dedication and persistence. Assetto Corsa Competizione is one of the best simulations with highly sensitive aerodynamics that want to be respected. Telemetry, such as motec helps with analyzing car behavior and finding major issues in the car setup or driving style. Special sim racing hardware also helps with becoming better, but certainly is not the solution to your problems. Load cell pedals offer better feel. Stronger but most importantly more detailed force feedback of e.g. direct drive wheels offer more immersive sensations. Though I know and I've seen throughout the years, people with entry level hardware perform on top level.
new to sim racing only a few days in with my cammus wheel, your videos are so helpful, thank you so much, im down to 137 on misano, so good for LFM but not consistent enough yet, cant get 7 laps in a row with out invalidating, i new carrying speed and braking were the problem, so this helps so much. Off to practice.
Thanks for this awesome video. I guess this is very useful for all popometer users and especially for me being the "victim" :) I learned a lot and will try to adept and bring the data on the track. Thanks again and keep on the awesome work ;-)
Yes! Exactly the kind of video’s i was hoping for. Thanks for all the hard work you put into these videos Nils. I for one really do apreciate these videos, i’m getting to a point where i want to start learning about setting up a car for my needs, and without having the knowledge. (First sim i play) learning the MoTec is going to be crucial for me to help me while building my setups. Thank you Nils.
love the videos and the tools, was grinding hard on watkins and got to a 43.8 with a couple tenths to spare and being able to see the data clearly makes a massive difference!!
Thanks Nils, hope now I'm able to develop better performance by knowing my mistakes. Cheers.
This was really useful since I use Wiersma setups and compare my telemetry with his while being around 1 second slower. However I don't really have that coasting moment on the apex like he does. I really like carrying my braking up until I press throttle. So I was wondering if what he did was better. Thank you very much for this.
But can we get part 2/4 3/4 please ? I would really love to know how to use throttle and steering better as I believe I have more problems with that. Being to lazy/scared of throttle or steering to much on the exit of the corner.
Amazing insights as always, Nils. Now to take this advice to my league race later. 🙂
OK, so won the race. 👌 . Remained consistent throughout while thinking of your corner speed comment, so it prevented me from over driving on entry, and therefore causing an extended braking zone. Excellent advice.
thats awesome to read and great conversion onto the track
I've used popometer today with a new setup by Trevor W. It's a lot more user friendly than motec however there is still a lot of data. I struggle to concentrate on one aspect of where I'm losing time then it starts to become a little overwhelming. Like spa for example, it's such a big lap, it's hard to remember exactly what j need to do aswell as driving the track.
Then it is good idea to keep focus on where "delta" increasing the most. It will tell you where you are losing most of lap time.
Like Michal said, corner on 1 or 2 corners where you loose the most and then move to the corners where the timeloss is less. It's impossible to correct all corners simultaneously.
Great insights! 👏
Were the next parts ever published? I can't seem to find them on your channel.
Got sidetracked :D but i published a guide on popometer for now: popometer.io/p/popoguide
I need to pick up more videos around the software, but im always waiting for our next updates to be done :)
Great Video We need part 2/3/4 😅
Thanks a lot, very helpful. How to find part 2-4?
I haven't really made them :D but you'll find bits and pieces of reading data in basically all my explanatory videos
I would go for ultimate version when available (also hoping maybe some presubscription discount) but I wonder and want to see the Advanced telemetry channels and Automated analysis thing. Any chance to see about them?
nothing to show yet unfortunately
Ah yes "short" . Still gonna watch it
i really focus on the bare minimum 😭
@@SimracingPopometer I actually wouldn't care if it was 2 hours long
what's the point of using popometer instead of motec? motec is free, popometer is not. right?
there is no maintained data base of motec data, sortable and separated by patch versions, session settings, fed with new data every time something on the game changes, always paired with a car setup so that you know a 100% sure that you are comparing same with same.
