I must admit back in the day ikon was the place to be.... I went to malia and falaraki and Turkey as a young lad partying but no night was better than a Saturday night in the icon it was magic it's my all time favourite nightclub ever ..
Best Club the Toons ever had... went from 1999 until it closed in 2006 or whenever it was, back bar nearly every Friday, Saturday, and in the earlier years even a Monday when it was £1.50 in. Very best of times. Ikon RIP 🙌 💙
It was a great night out on a Thursday. £ a pint at the Jag then Ikon after. Plenty of trouble there though but good times. I remember shaking Frank Brunos hand when he was dj-ing there ☺
class here when i was younger, start at whitley then wed eitha go to ikon the ship (tena t get in drink as much as u want) or baja beach club nd dance on the fridges haha mint
It was a lethal venue but the location was ripe with trouble, always drama outside, stinking piss alley round the corner, smack den doss house up the stairs, it was the filthiest area of Newcastle City Centre by far... And they built a fucking hotel next to it. No wonder it's getting wrote off... RIP I guess.
Good Times I remember getting punched over the bonnet of taxi outside and getting laid into by 4 lads who thought I was involved in the bother. Still didn't stop me going back haha
