This is compilation of different gliders take-offs from different perspective. Two seater and single seater including Cirrus, Pirat, Puchacz Bocian and Jantar.
You can almost hear those pilots shouting "Weeeeeeeeeeee" as they trundle down the hill. As a glider pilot (winch and aerotow) I would love to give this a go!

Well regarding flight duration in ridge flying you can do it whole day if you want, it is quite common when there is little south wind in summer to wait for stronger blow when thermal hit the ridge then takeoff and easily start normal thermal flight including cross country, when there is a wave forecast we can switch from ridge to wave and go high without oxygen up to 4000 with oxygen and transponder even higher. Check some flights on weglide portal
Hi, there is no other way as walk holding the glider wing behind 4x4 car. In very wet condition (ground soaked) we use small electric winch as car can slip.
Quite the opposite. You land down the hill and get towed by a 4x4 uphill. When the wind is too weak for ridge flying they invert that setup - a winch is placed on the top of the hill and the gliders start at the bottom

Perhaps a silly question, but where do they land? Maybe on top of the hill behind the club?
