      That was a very interesting article, here are a few more tips on how to learn Arabic…
      Set realistic goals, don’t just dive in and say “I want to be fluent Arabic within 1 year”, give yourself short term goals which lead up to long term goals. E.g. Short Term Goal = “I want to learn all about this topic in 1 month” and Long Term Goal = “I aim to be able to speak about at least 12 topics within the next 12 months
      Make time, you will need to set some time aside, preferably on a day to day basis, so you can achieve your goal. I highly recommend blocking out actual time on your calendar every day and really commit to this. Think of it as an appointment with your doctor that you wouldn’t consider missing. That is exactly how you should treat this task. As little as 20 minutes a day is a great start.
      Immerse yourself in the language, meet Arabic speaking friends, listen to the radio, watch a show on TV, and try to read the newspaper. Even if you do not fully understand the content, keep it as a daily exercise and you will eventually make sense of it all. The other great news is this listening exercise is the only way to improve your accent. Your brain will process all the information and you will notice the improvement with time.
      Have a practice buddy, keep yourself motivated and accountable by practicing Arabic with a friend. It is always a good strategy to practice the language with someone who is fluent and non-judgmental. I have a friend who practices Arabic with me and I practice English with her.
      (I discovered about these and more on Mirykal lingo guide site )

    If we westerners could easily read Arabic writing, it would be interesting to give the language a try. I just don't have time and patience (an sight) to learn reading Arabian or Asian languages. Sad. I just saw some pods about Hebrew and the girl speaking there really did a good job and made me interested in Hebrew because each phrase she put it in Hebrew alphabet, Roman alphabet and the English translation. I missed a readable phrase for those of us who can't read Arabian text.

    • @heathcliffshakyamuni5695
      @heathcliffshakyamuni5695 7 років тому +4

      The accent marks we use to indicate the vowels are mostly used at school to learn arabic, but if you read the newspapers or a book, most of the time, you won't find them. That's something that makes the reading very difficult; you actually have to know the words and have strong grammar bases before reading them.

      rebgiful1 a very common mistake made by Arabic learners is to rely in their early stages on English transcriptions of Arabic letters. I strongly recommend you learn the Arabic alphabet and how the letters look when written in their cursive form; it may seem like a daunting task at first, but as an American speaker of Arabic, I promise it is not as difficult as it looks! It will be very beneficial to your language-learning experience
