Been at it for sixty years and surfed them all including the ranch, and all are good. The hook breaks on any swell and breaks all year round. It breaks on any tide and the conditions are almost always good. The waves come out of the deep Monterey Bay undersea canyon so there is little continental shelf drag. When it connects through Sharks Cove and Privates it can also be one of the longest waves in Cali. @@Elloguvanah
I thought that was him. I've been away since the 90's. We worked together at the end of the 80s and early 90s. Used to have mini-contests to see how much we could surf on company time. Solid guy. He could've won pro-contests easily if he cared about that shit, which he didn't. Josh Mitchell the other best non-contest surfer from that era. They surfed better and with more style than 3/4 of the guys on the pro tour. of that era.
@@Elloguvanah All great breaks, and I have surfed most of them. They don't have the consistency and conditions of the hook. The hook breaks flawlessly with any pacific swell direction that hits the California coast. As do all of the breaks in Santa Cruz.
