BT moto do your map tuned depending on the upgrades you did on your bike, like air intake, sprocket and / or exhaust, so more refine than upmap

I feel you explained it in great detail. The only thing that I was waiting for and anticipating for you to talk about is the feeling you get what the bike produces while you’re riding it in the 3 different street modes.
Whats your thoughts from going from commute mode right to intermediate mode?
I personally notice a difference on my own RS660 with a full titanium SC project exhaust CRT-1 that I previously mentioned in your recent videos that it at least feels louder and stronger with exhaust but a considerable difference between commute and intermediate on the throttle response, and I don’t really feel a major lag or dead spot When revving out in intermediate mode. I can only imagine what it’s gonna feel like with a full tune as you’ve mentioned. Waiting on your thoughts. As always great video I appreciate the all the extra work and time you put into every video. Thank you for your commitment.
Did u map bike with scp exhaust or just fit pipe.. 🍻
@@benjaminrushton5888 I had full-titanium SC project exhaust installed before I even removed it out of the show room with a Sprint filter as well. No mapping whatsoever. I still have to contact the dealer to find out more specifics on tuning the bike to the exhaust without voiding the warranty.
I'll take a look to see if I notice a difference between the different modes with the tune! To be honest, I have so much fun on individual that I stopped using the other modes. Will test it out and get back to you matee
Wait, so the tune is too rich? I mean if it's been made for the "standard" exhaust then the ratio should be alright. Right? Otherwise why are they providing this potentially dangerous tune?
I think he was talking about the aprilia race tune ecu because it's made for different conditions and a un-catted exhaust. I would assume the one he bought for $500-600 is mapped for more common use either a stock, catted exhaust or a free flow non-catted exhaust. Definitely want a map that correctly sets AFR air/fuel ratio and a handful of other key parameters. Other downside of rich AFR is poor fuel economy because it's not completely burning all the fuel and could be sending it out into the air/environment. Running a motor lean but not too lean has some benefits whereas running a motor rich but not too rich can be good. More fuel added to the burn in the combustion chamber can help to keep down combustion temps as more fuel lowers that temp and cut down on engine knock which can be super destructive but more common in turbo, supercharged vehicles but also high compression motors.
Yupp, I was surprised too mate. I can confirm that I definitely smelled more gas fumes, which can be a sign of running rich. I suspect that the race tune is meant to go with their "partnered" exhaust, the Akra...but no solid info on this
@@GettingthruLife Agreed about the slightly lean vs slightly rich stuff! But the only way to tell for sure is if we had hard data to show us :( But the AF1 race ecu and the UpMap race tune is the same thing, at least from my understanding
@@SK_XIII Then you might consider getting the Motobox sport or sport + tune instead, those are made for cated version of standard exhaust. Maybe this wil come closer to what you have?

THE RS660 IS DEFINITELY A BEGINNER FRIENDLY BIKE. This is by far tye easiest bike ive ever ridden. Im actually getting bored of it lol.
hey man! nice vid! u mentioned that it would be tough on the bike to race tune it without any aftermarket parts etc. i got my aprilia rs 660 like two weeks ago and im thinking to upmap it to the race tune. do you think it is enough to change the filter to a sportfilter and put on some "better" velocity stacks for the tune not be "damaging" the bike?
To me it would seem that a dyno run with a ratio snuffer in the tail pipe would be the best way to insure proper mixture ratio rather than here say on the part of those trying to sell you a leaner running exhaust especially if you feel the running characteristic have so much improved.
Manufacturers tend to run bikes very lean, but think its mostly do to emissions, heavy on either side isnt great, I wouldnt be too concerned with C.C. as much as i would the engine.....optimally you want it running perfect for the motor....if the converter takes a shit you can just throw on full system ($$$) but nothing compared to a motor.....i actually like looks of stock exhaust and it actually does pretty job for what it is....
Prefer a tune with stock exhaust....if you could find mid pipe to delete the CAT and keep stock can but idk if thats possible....
it isnt about the HP but where and how its made....long trip on duke 890 tiday and sure wish i had CC, 😂.
appreciate that insight!! There is a company that makes stock looking exhaust but improved sound - Motobox. So that'd probably work well for folks

I got a good deal on the race ECU from the dealer and am keeping the stock exhaust. It’s basically the same as what you describe but with integrated signals. I don’t ride very aggressively so hoping that keeps the cat from melting. I really think it’s worth it so far.

When you say exhaust are you talking a full system or a slip on??
Full system. The stock exhaust is all one piece so you would have to replace the full system
Is the factory warranty still there after this upgrade?
Technically yes, but will your dealer honor it or will they try to find an issue with it? thats the real question lol

Is there a tune that smooths out the mapping but not really risking CAT damage?
Not that I know of :( Maybe someone will make one in the future? Although not much monetary incentive for them to do so
Gabro's OEM tune does just this. Get the EU version for integrated blinkers

@@ferdelance7474 well, I paid for it today. AF1 has to prep it and I have a ADV trip planned for the weekend so I won’t get it till Tuesday. Their closed on Monday.

Do you cruise around daily on your city streets at 85-95mph? Maybe just for the video? That seems pretty high-paced if someone was randomly going to pull out in front of you not aware or on their cell phone. California is such a nice looking place minus the many gov downsides/pitfalls. Near perfect place to own and ride a motorcycle/e-bike. I do some jobs there a couple times a year but rent a car.
The streets in the video are expressways, so basically hybrid between freeway and normal street :D But normally ride at the pace of traffic. Rent a bike next time you are in town and enjoy the roadss! :)
It's all bitchin on video until you hit traffic 24/7.....hour and half from Long Beach to Burbank on a bike filtering....37 miles, 😂
Speeds here very quick, 90 on freeway just keeping up WHEN there is a break in traffic.......
