    OMG! Time travel...from scrapbooking, i morphed into greeting card making, acrylics and watercoloring... Thank you CM for sparking my creative side. My corner rounders and punches still play an active part in all my paper crafting activities today. I remember my last convention in MN 2004, and visiting the Mall of America!! Such fond memories and times...

      Gwenneth! We might have crossed paths at convention! Fondly remember those days too! What a blast we had. So sorry they had to postpone this years convention...more fun to come next year!!

    You have taught this "old, back in the day" consultant some new tricks to use with the CCS. I was at the convention when this system was introduced. We all went back to our rooms and started trying it out that night. They had given us a pack of paper, too. I just recently happened upon your channel and I am hooked. You have an amazing style of teaching that is so doable for the beginner as well as enriching for the experienced. I look forward to making my way through your videos. Love the POP system and am trying to get my planner together.

    I have had this system for many years too, in fact since it was released! I LOVE it! As a consultant I spent many crops teaching about it, and I love that 'aha' moment when someone realizes how the system works and they love it too. OMG- WATCH ALL THE WAY TO THE END! Lauren, your Picture This borders are FANTASTIC! And these are a perfect addition to the LOM albums.

    I never knew what plastic sheet was for when I bought this 25 years ago! I don’t know anyone who used it over photos ! LOL
    Wish I’d seen a video like this then ! Great cutters, think these are my favourite tools ever !
    I had a scrapbooking teacher who always cut centers out of mats before sticking the photo on! She said it reduced the weight of albums ! I wish I’d done that !

    I was just wondering recently if creative memories was still in business. My Sister in law was a consultant for years and we had a scarp night locally for years then everyone got busy. I still have so much creative memories tools and I still have my old round razors like you showed and the old mat. Thanks Lauren for this tips and tricks video. I've had my CM circle cutting system for about 23 years or so. My mat is actually the blue but rectangle shaped instead of a square and of course I have the old blades. I was so intrigued watching your new blades spin while you cut. Amazing! The reason I checked out your video though was for something else you didn't end up addressing. Maybe you'll have some ideas for me - I've recently gotten into Hybrid scrapbooking using digital elements I create in Photoshop Elements and then combining them with real products on my page. Today I created a bunch of circles with sentiments (I was practicing some of the techniques I learned from a class.) I made my circles all sizes I could use my CM circle cutting system to cut out. I don't have a digital cutter and I don't have all the sizes of circle punches. Anyway, the problem for me was how to line up the circle templates exactly to cut out the circles the exact size they were made. I hope that makes sense. For example, I made a couple of 3" circles. So, I laid my clear plastic sheet template over the top to line up my circle, but the problem then was moving the plastic measuring template out of the way to cut without actually moving the circle. They had to be exact or it wouldn't cut out the shape properly. I'm hoping you have a suggestion because it just about drove me bonkers. The system works great when you are just setting it up on top of a photo and you have some wiggle room. There it doesn't have to be exact, but what to do when you have an exact shape to cut out. I'm at a loss. Thanks!

    This is such a great option for those of us that don’t have/want a die cutting system. How well does the frame stay in place when you hold it? I feel like I’d be tempted to put rug-lock or something grippy between the shape and the paper (in un-cut areas) to keep them aligned while I cut...? What type of pressure/dexterity does it take to engage the knife? I think the price of these components are excellent for all the options provided. 👍 SO helpful for you to do these demos - really makes a difference in understanding a product.

    • @CraftSomeJoy
      @CraftSomeJoy  4 роки тому

      Hi Maureen, there are little “grippy” feet that hold the templates in place when you cut, and the blades are very sharp. It helps they can go both directions. Once you practice a bit it is super easy!👍🏻

    Oh my gosh, I’m so confused 🤷‍♀️. I’ve had a set for years and not even sure who I bought it from. Maybe at the Del Mar fair. My problem is I’m a show me “in person and them make me do it several times until I finally get it” person. Once I get my craft boxes unpacked (I moved) I’ll have to find a demonstrator come and work with me.
