WotC Will Never Print Another Un-Set - Here's Why

Un-Sets were a major waste of marketing. Unfinity was so much fun by itself that it should have been marketed towards children as an introduction to magic the gathering. This set could have easily been marketed at Party City or under children party games it works I suggested for a friend 10-year-old party, and it was a hit. Kids had some fun the older crowd played with them making quick decks and when they got to play the stickers they lost their minds. If magic is going to get bigger it needs to go younger and get a little silly, so kids grow to be regular Magic players.
I skipped on Unfinity entirely. This was my reasoning: Un-sets are best at pre-release, and Unfinity pre-release was the same day as a "Warhammer 40k Commander" event at my LGS, so I prioritized playing Warhammer instead. Product overload.
Your theory makes sense, it just has 1 hole: WotC stopped thinking about the purpose of sets. They will do more unsets if and exactly is the last one sold.
I hope that with the banning of Attractions and Stickers, the design team will reflect on how much extra non-card clutter is still needed with "legitimate" cards in constructed formats. Blood, Map, Treasure, and creature tokens may all be required in the same deck. In 2024 1v1 formats' boards look like Commander boards from 2018, and 2024 Commander boardstates get absolutely unreal.
I know Legacy lost a powerhouse with ______ Goblin, and hopefully Wizards will push a functional reprint that works with both paper and modo.
Seriously. There is so much rules clutter in modern magic. Especially for anyone new to the game, I don't know how people are supposed to keep up with the sheer volume of weird token and key-words that have been added over the last couple of years. Also, I'm really unimpressed with how a lot of modern cards look like word salad throwback to legends era cards that are a wall of tiny text.

I enjoyed Unglued, later Un-Sets not so much.
for me wizard should only limit it to bundle style the complete bundle of all will be one. I think it would be more profitable for them and interesting for the players instead of buying a box or buying 2 dozen of each basic land at 2-3$ each

Mark Rosewater actually commented on this and stated that chance of another unset os basically 0 due to the massive failure of Unfinity.
This is not true. He has an entire episode of his drive to work podcast discussing lessons learned from Unfinity and stated it was the best selling unset to date. Hardly a failure.
@@Fireslingerpirate I will elaborate. Financially speaking Unfinity was the best selling unset, but relative to normal sets underperformed. Also reception to its and its mechanics was cold. There was also the vocal outcry against the set printing legal cards into existing formats. So a better and more accurate statement from me would have been "Mark Rosewater has stated that another un-set is an if rather than a when due to relatively weak financial success compared to normal sets and a mixed response to the sets design and impact on exiting formats."
I apologize for an incorrect statement, but still feel another unset is wildly unlikely.
I certainly hope you are right about no more un-sets. Especially with the last un-set I throw up in my mouth a little every time an "un" card shows up in an eternal constructed format.
Doesn't mean they wont reprint the lands like they did to Unhinged and double masters. Really sad and disrespectful thdy did that.
