- Octagon barrel screw mount peep sights for the Henry .22 Pump Action. Aperture sights like these from Skinner really make an improvement to the overall shooting experience IMO.

I saw "Got Peeps" & was expecting marshmallow targets!
Love that you gave us the actual measurements of the sight heights, including before & after, and compared to the originals.
While looking for obscure rear 22lr sight, I had an extremely informative and pleasant half hour conversation with a gent at Skinner, top notch service. Nice shootin, all those groups 👌
I’ve never spoke to anyone at Skinner but I’ll vouch for their products just from my experiences with them. Good to know that if I ever need to reach out that they’ll actually talk to people. Thanks for the comment!
I have Skinner peep sights on my Henry(s). Extremely pleased with the product value and quality. I, too, have had the pleasure of speaking with the Skinner team. Top notch folks!
Buffalo, you are the king of reviewers! And you've got a great supporter there in Lisa!
Good to see Mrs Buffalo out and about with Mr Buffalo on the range.
Smart husband!
I like the new sights, but I really enjoyed seeing that dandy rifle close up. I didn’t get as good a look at it as I wanted in your first video. I like peep sights better now that I am older, but when I was younger I actually shot the buckhorn style sights better for some reason. I think I was fighting the alignment of the front sight in the opening, and not letting it naturally align itself. I am thinking that I will have to get me a Henry like yours. Thanks, Buffalo. It’s always fun watching your videos. You’re a natural like Hickok45.
The sights look excellent. Great shooting by both of you.
Peep sights in my experience are much more accurate than buckhorns. Thank you Buffalo for the video.
Kind Sir, with all due respect, I highly recommend that you develop NO bad habits that may upset your excellent shooting bride whatsoever! Always enjoy your videos! Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful in depth information regarding installation of the Skinner sights. Especially appreciate the precise dimensions you offered. Wonderful presentation, beautiful range, excellent groups shot by your wife! Thanks so much. I’m hooked on your channel.
I was in the last series of platoons (four platoons make up a series, or did back then) on Paris Island USMC Recruit Depot, that carried the M14 throughout our boot camp training. I learned to shoot long distance with that M14 equipped with peep sights. To this day i prefer a peep site setup over a buckhorn sight, simply because i shoot better using the peep sights. Good to see i can get a set of peeps for the Henry pump 22!
I would rather watch this channel over anything on the idiot box or otherwise known as the TV. Makes me want to break out the H001.
Sweet setup, Buffalo. Always good to see the ladies shoot, and do it well!!!
I think something like a peep tang sight would be awesome on this rifle. Crazy long sight radius and gives it that old western pop.
LOVE Skinner sights. I use them on all of my hunting rifles from .22 to 45-70. Well engineered, American made and lots of options for peep sizes for all conditions. I use the ghost ring for hunting on my 45-70. I've found that most Henry front sights work with the Skinner sight with no modifications. Skinner has an APP for trimming the front sight. Thanks for sharing.
My Henry H001TLP came factory equipped with Skinner peep sights and I love them. Also have peep sights on my Rossi 357 and Winchester 94 30-30...You put out great informative videos, keep up the good work and Thank You...
Buffalo has the best videos. I swear, I would like to have a beer with this guy, and I don't even drink.
Great shooting by your wife . Excellent info and the way you explain things is even easy for me to understand.
Glad to hear that! Thanks so much for leaving the comment.
@@buffalosoutdoors I would be interested to know if you have a preference between the lever and this pump in overall capability/performance. Enjoying your videos.
Those are great sights and Lisa did a fantastic job!
That’s a really nice looking set of sights, and I agree with the way you filed down the front sight, sounds like you did a perfect job
Thank man. We are happy with how they turned out!
When Mrs B wants to shoot don't stand in her way...
Thank you for another brilliant video. I'm in England, I've never shot anything, I learn more from one of your videos than an hours worth on some other channels.
Good report…have several of the Skinner sights in different configuration, I have the tactical on my 45-70 Guide Gun, and express on the 24” octagon Marlin 45-70 and regular brass on a Henry .22….all work great. I tend to not use the aperture and just use them as a ghost ring…with exception on the 24” barrel when I need long shots….Made right here in Montana…another big plus! Again, thanks for another fine video!
That’s awesome. I have 3 sets of Skinners so far and love them.
I agree. Now that my eyes have got bad with old age, I am way better with a peep.
I have both a Henry lever in 22 and another in 22 mag, both have Skinner peeps. I also have skinner peep on a Savage model 219 30-30 single shot. Actually every rifle I own that doesn’t have a scope has a peep on it . I found they work well when the eyes get old. Thank you for a good video about sights
Impressive rifle, impressive sights, impressive shooting by Lisa. That makes this video a Win, Win, Win!
Awesome! Thanks for the comment we appreciate it!
Superb once again, per your usual. Fine shooting, Lisa. Thank you both.
Thank you!
Buffalo I know you and your wife enjoy time shooting together. Great to see you and her being happy together. 👍👍🙏🙏
For those long in the tooth, hear me out. I’ve been pretty dumpy for many years about my difficulty using iron sights with these old eyes, and trying to punch paper or varmints has left me feeling old and crotchety; I frown a lot in these scenarios. I stumbled into peep sights while looking at a Henry to buy and found myself lighter in step, mouth corners turning up, and more squint to the eyelids as I clearly could see and focus on both sights and target.
If you find yourself getting grumpy trying to shoot buckhorn style sights, step to the sunny side of the street and find your grin again with peep or aperture sights!
Reno
Nice sights and great demonstration of how to use them. Nice shooting Lisa! 👍😃✌️🇺🇸
Thank you!
Heh Brother..... better not make Lisa mad at you! 😉😁 that was some great shooting, a great rifle and obviously the sights are perfect. Thank you for sharing your lovely bride with us. I love seeing couples and families sharing the shooting sports. When I was still living in western Colorado my daughter's families and I would go out to the desert frequently and do some shooting. We taught my grandkids how to handle firearms safely and marksmanship. Anytime I visit we head out there. Fun times and great memories. Plus I have adult Grandchildren who continue the sport.
God bless all here.
I just got an short track win announcement. A text address? Is this a scam buffalo?
Again Lisa shot well. I have not shot a peep sight much. I wish you would have mentioned sight alignment and sight pictures on the target
Thank you for the update.
Great shooting by the Missis.
You two are a perfect match....both fantastic shooters
Great info on the Skinner sights. I am closing in on 60 and would prefer to switch to Skinner. Thanks for including the beautiful Mrs B and sending out another great video.
Holy Hannah! Don't make her angry! Dang, she can shoot! Great video
Buffalo your channel is second to none..sweet sights and Henry.
I'm with ya Buffalo on skinnier sights. I love shooting those and like you said so easy to pick up your target. Miss Lisa is a good shooter and you sure must be proud of her. The I can do better is awesome! Thank y'all
Yeah man it sure does make it easy to pick up some hits on that steel. I appreciate the kind words! Have a great night!
Ah your just showing off now Very good brother god bless and stay safe and strong
I hope we will see Lisa on the range more often. I just bought Skinner sights for my old .22, but I doubt I'll get the same results the two of you are used to. Gonna need more practice, I will.
You and Lisa showed some impressive shooting skills. THANK YOU !
Good looking and performing sights. I have never used the skinner sight. Thanks for the video and information.
Another high quality shooting video. Thanks, you have a calm nature and a relaxed demeanour that makes me want to be your friend.
Buffalo. Good and interesting video. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Yes sir, I love it! Thanks for sharing!🤘🏽
Enjoy your videos you guys make a great team.
i love the improvements you made to that every rifle with a pep i shot i hated until i built an a2 carbine and its my grab it for trouble rifle now
A lot of people don’t like peeps but I do. Especially on certain rifles they just seem like they belong. Thanks!
Thank you Buffalo, excellent show and tell!!
Thanks for the information. I didn't know about those sights.
Nice 👍 Video. Nice looking Skinner Sight's My friend.Santa needs to stop by my house for my Henrys they have been good 😊
just my opinion but peep sights should be closer to the eye
You can mount the rear peep sight closer to your eye but you will have to drill and tap the receiver
Great video review! Thank you for going through the trouble of giving the sight measurements that you used. I have been very pleased with Skinner sights on my Henry rifles. FYI they do have available tall aperture stems to provide extra flexibility in the field. I also opted for a dovetail sight blank with aperture storage. This allows added sight options depending on your lighting situation.
Almost all my lever guns sport skinner sights. The buckhorn were ok when younger, but older eyes pick up through the peep extremely fast, perfect for lever guns.
I love the skinner.. one thing (for my eyes) I have done with even my black powder Hawken is to add a hood to the front sight. I shoot outdoor 99.9% of the time. the sun will make it hard to see the front sight in many cases. Pro tip... the old Remington 700 hood can be made to fit almost any front sight you will need to file grooves in the front sight or use something like a dremel but when you are done you have a protected and shaded front sight. Might make a good vid!
Those sights look really nice on there. Nice job.
Really well done review..Sittin' here lookin' at my piggy bank...things may happen if I can find the rifle.
AWESOME!!! I ordered one last Saturday!!
I was able to switch my receiver cover from my h001 to the h003t. It slready had the skinner sights on the receiver. Works perfect with stock front sight height. I have the hi viz fiber optics coming in. That brass bead is tuff for my old eyes. My pump is smoothing out. I sure wish they would make a lighter round barrel like the h001.
Did you realize that if you chamber a round and slighly move pump back a just the smallest amount it locks the pump and disengages the trigger. Effectively making the gun safe. You have to cock the trigger and it will fire and work as usual. I really like hiw you dont have to break your shooting grip to chamber a round. Still would like it to weigh the sane as the h003t. Very nice gun.
For looks and snag resistance, I would round off the front of the front sight.
Fine job Buffalo!!
Even finer job Lisa!!!
Sorry Buffalo...love ya brother
Great shooting maam.. I like them sites might have to look into a set. 👍🇺🇸
Nice, very nice, I will be trying those out. Thanks for sharing!
Sweet set up.
That's one sweet little rifle
Nice sights Buffalo and a really good group by your wife on that last one 👍👍
Cool . . . thanks for the information.
Keep up the good work!
Greetings from BC.
Hi Buffalo!!
Good video!!!
All the best my friend!!!
👍👍🇺🇸💪👏
I like those skinner sights too. Good shooting Buffalo!
Great shooting too Mrs. Buffalo!
The first thing I did was to replace the factory sights on mine. I put on a Williams rear peep sight and a Lyman globe front sight. It mad a huge difference.
I'd say your wife shoots ok. Ah who am I kidding, that was some excellent shooting. Well done. 👍
Thanks for the update with the sights installed. They look nice on there.
Stay safe down there, and take it easy man. 😎
Thanks man! We are having a blast with this little rifle. It’s not just my wife but my grown kids love this thing too! Hope all is well way up yonder!
I would love to see a video of how you file down the front sight. Great, great content as always. Eric
Good stuff thanks for sharing. I am picking a Henry Small Game Rifle in .22lr this week and it comes with skinner peep from the factory, so I’ll be sticking with the lever guns I guess
Enjoying it?
Crap now she’s just showing off god bless ya both it’s fun to watch you shoot missy
Wow, She's a good shot. Very nice group
Thumbs up for switching to peep sights. My Marlin 1894 .44 mag. has a Williams full adjustable peep sight. Better than the semi buckhorn sights that came on the rifle. Works well with the Marlin front brass sight.
Henry rifles and skinner sights works great good video
I believe that Skinner Sights knows who you are, NOW! I never heard of them nor of this rifle until I watched this video. Curios how this rifle would compare to a Ruger 10/22, but don’t let Lisa shoot them as she might shoot them too well and we won’t see a difference. 🤪
Great content as always as you do a fantastic job with these videos.
Peep is neat!
such a badass rifle!
Awesome Video! Thanks Brother. Keep Making these Cool Videos.
NICE,NICE, NICE..........as usual!!!!!!!!!!!!! Greetz from the Netherlands!!!
Awesome combo!! Good shootin.
I feel that Henry is our premier vintage gun manufacturer now. I wish they'd expand into some different models. Double barrel and over-under shotguns. More than anything I'd love to see them produce a control round feed bolt action in classic long action calibers like 30/06, 270, 25/06 etc. Henry is the last great wood and steel gun maker and I want to see them grow.
The receivers are alloy though, not steel
@@deathbyastonishment7930 What? No, they're not. All their center-fire rifles with the exception of the Long-Ranger (aluminum) and the brass framed rifles have receivers made from steel. Their rimfire rifles also have steel receivers, but they do sport alloy (ZAMAK) receiver covers. They simply cover the moving parts on the steel receivers of the rimfire rifles. I know. I own one. Take the ZAMAK cover plates off and you'll see that it's a "shell" covering the steel receiver.
@@smartacus88 oh okay, thank you
Is there any reason they can’t make more lever action shotguns (like 12 gauge)? I don’t know much about them but the main lever action shotgun offerings in Australia don’t seem very good.
@@FerventReminderit's not that they can't it's just the lack of demand doesn't warrant all the development and tooling to make such a specific model. Sure some people want it but it wouldn't be a big seller
Damn you Buffalo I am 67 year old and thought I would never buy another gun!
I have the same gun and the lever Frontier model with threaded barrel. The sights on both to my 78 year old eyes are like looking for a grain of salt in a pound of sugar. I change them both to fiber optics.
From what I can see from the Mrs. accuracy, I don't think you want to make her mad. JimE
Thank you for this and all your videos. Very much appreciated ❤
Great video man , awesome lil rifle
Nice shooting, Lisa!
Love Skinner. Have them on 2 Marlin 39A’s. Thanks
The Henry pump I’m shooting in this video is equipped with a Skinner rear peep. I’ve always been a Williams fan, but this rifle needed something special.

Great info! I've been considering these Skinner sights for a couple of my Henry's.👍
I love them. You should give them a try!
Thanks for sharing your videos and keep them coming please.
Good one, thanks Buffalo and good shooting Lisa!
Another well presented and informative video. I like pump action rifles for sure. The Mrs sure can shoot, I'll bet your mighty respectful around her. Thanks for your videos.
Got to get me some of those!
Nice shootin Buffalo family!
Another great video!
Well I like them, And I know you love them. Looks like you lucked out! Cuz they are "Lisa Approved"! I don't think that's a bad price for a Quality set of sites. Thanks for sharing! 😎👍
Another great vid, excellent shooting by Lisa.
Great gun great shooting.
