- A more in depth look at the Envelope & VCA Section on Atlantix.
The Envelope and VCA are closely linked on Atlantix. This section of the module provides you tools for versatile shaping of synth sounds - often without the need for additional patching. That being said, the flexibility to patch out the envelope or route external sources through the VCA is also available to you. Matt runs us through the full list of features on this corner of Atlantix.

would definitely appreciate more of these in depth video's.
Excellent video -- and also applying some of these use principles to CASCADIA ❤
yeah, a great successor to an already classic module.
way to break it down , so good
Another cool patch trick is to mult the gate source and patch it to VCO B SYNC. Then if you use VCO B as the trigger or cycle source for the ADSR (patched into GATE or RETRIG), then it will restart modulation at the same phase every time you press a key.
intellijel u drive me crazyyy with all these amazing modules I want to afford :D
i do wish the filter/vca would have independent envelopes internally if preferred.
How would that work? If there is only one set of controls, it makes no difference if the VCF and VCA have different envelopes. There is not enough space on the panel to add an entire second envelope but you could always pair the module with Tangrams or Quadrax to patch in extra ones.
@@intellijel You could have an a/b switch on the envelope.
Why was the cycle switch from Atlantis dropped?!
True cycling ADSR requires a pulse with on and off times like we have implemented on Tangrams and there was not room to add this to Atlantix. You can achieve cycling by patching the VCO B Square into GATE or holding gate high and sending a trigger to RETRIG. The original Atlantis cycle switch was very limited in the sense that it is just detecting the end of decay phase (comparator) to retrigger. This meant sustain slider could not be too high and you were not getting a full adsr envelope shape. Some people liked it for self patching convenience but in our opinion it was a waste of an envelope compared to using another modulation source. If we had more space we could have added any number of more features.
When will this be released?
I guess it depends where you live, but it's already shipping in the US. I have mine in my rack now.
@@afewster1 did you buy direct? All of the typical sellers are listing it as a pre-order.
Would be sick if you made a 1u envelope, like 14hp? Maybe 16 for the I/O’s
An ADSR? what features would you like to see?
