  • In this video I take along for a ride on the Massabesic Lake Trails in Manchester, New Hampshire. Massabesic Lake covers about 2,560 acres within the city of Manchester and the town of Auburn. Serving as the public drinking water supply for the city of Manchester. The walking and biking trails cover a large portion of Manchester and Auburn.
Side note: During the length of this video I covered more than 10 miles.

I've lived in Manchester all my life and I must have lived a sheltered life because I never knew those trails existed. Thanks for sharing.

My pleasure, believe it or not Manchester has trails running throughout most of the city.

Grew up on Island Pond Rd this doesn't show half of what's out there. Most of the real wilderness is off limits but we'd sneak in using the trails. We would go camping out there for weeks at a time, there are caves and hidden bays, a wonderland for the young. There are also lots of wild brooks flowing in and out of the lake that become massive white water torrents in the spring, we would shoot the rapids all the way down to Raymond. It was a way of life that no longer exists, its all heavily patrolled now and you are pretty much restricted to the public trails shown in the video. The place should be turned into a state park.
