REJOICE IN LIFE - The Word Exposed with Cardinal Tagle (June 27, 2021)

Today is the Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time. The Gospel presents two moments of healing: that of a woman with hemorrhage and the restoration to life of Jairus’s daughter. The same Gospel presents to us two faces of faith: the woman believes that secretly touching Jesus’s cloak could cure her, while Jairus, believing that Jesus could heal his dying daughter, openly pleads with him.
These incidents show the lengths we could go to in moments of intense neediness. The Gospel stresses that faith in Jesus the propelled the woman and Jairus to come to Jesus. They were not frustrated. God rejoices in giving and restoring life!
