Great video! I know this is a realitively niche game but, I wish more people would do this. I know when I first started looking at mods there was noting like this and it took a while for me to wrap my head around it.
Have you ever used the cockpit glass mod? It adds rain, dust and ice effects to the windshield. Great for immersion imo. Maybe it does not work well with VonBiomes though (not using that one yet). Also, do you disable weapon tiers in YAML? I am on the fence with weapon tiers and curious of your opinion.
I have used cockpit glass, and was using it before DLC6. I havent tried it yet to see if it still works after DLC6, dont think I have seen an update for it. It does work with vonBiomes. I will probably try it to see if it still works, I do like the glass effects it adds. And no, I keep the weapon tiers on. It adds more for me to work towards in the game so I dont get bored. Also makes the early game more challenging and I like a challenge.
@@Commander_XVIINice. For the record I was using cockpit glass yesterday and it worked fine, I dont use any other UI mods (though I am considering the Advanced Zoom mod). I also only have base game + inner sphere heroes so not sure if that matters.
I have not used it. Not sure if this is the one you are talking about but the link below is for the max tonnage mod and it has been updated for use with DLC6. www.nexusmods.com/mechwarrior5mercenaries/mods/114
Thanks for the video. I'm trying the exact same mod list and load order but the game is crashing during the loading credits when started. I get the below error pop-up. Any ideas how to fix? LowLevelFatalError [File:Unknown] [Line: 2725] Missing Dependency, request for /Gane/UI/FrontEnd/Mechlab/Components/MechlabInventoryPanelWidget.MechlabInventoryPanelWidget_C but it was still waiting for creat
Fatal Error happens when there is a mod conflict that cant be resolved... Check your mods and order against the list in the description of my most recent video first, that is my most up to date list. If it still is doing it, then dry disabling all the mods and then activate one at a time until it gives the error again and that will help you pinpoint the problem mod.
I just found this amazing, but dated game recently. I was sold on the ability to heavily modify the game, which is necessary for dated games in my humble opinion. However, modding this game is probably the worst experience I've ever had with modding, everything conflicts with everything else and no simple or even moderate solutions can be found in most cases. I can live without some QoL mods, that's fine. But it seems non of the best mods work together very well. Biomes, Huds, Labs (Do these modders hate each other, lol). All that to say I really appreciate what your doing here. Please don't stop.
@@Commander_XVII I'm home from work now and I realize you've posted this video 2mo ago. I have followed your load order exactly, nothing less or more. When I reload the game after enabling the mods, I get the green mechs loading screen, then just a black screen. I have control-alt-delete to back out. Is there anything you could suggest to get this working? Latest game version 1.1.361 and all DLC ( if that helps)
Use the load order from the description of my most recent video, I do update it from time to time in my playthroughs. How long are you waiting on the black screen? It does take several minutes to load on that screen when you have a bunch of mods running because thats when it is loading them all. Shouldnt be more than 5 minutes though on most machines I would think, so if youre waiting 10 min or more and still nothing then there is definitely a problem, in which case you will have to go into problem solving mode and deactivate all mods, reactivating one at a time until it stops working, which tells you which mod is causing the problem, at least in part.
@@Commander_XVII That makes sense now. I started by process of elimination. I enabled everything except the "Yet Another.." mods and the game loaded no problem, started adding them one at a time starting with Mechlab, it loaded! The next thing I added were the weapon revamp mods and the screen was black, I was about to gank the game and suddenly it loaded. That's when I started to clue in it may be a loading issue. A couple more trials confirmed it was a very slow load time for those more robust mods. In the end though I decided to only use Yet Another Mechlab, the sheer number of mechs, customizations and variants that were added was more then enough, lol. I am still learning the game and just that one mod alone has added another large learning curve. After work I'm going to see if I can add a few other mods that I am very interested in: Ultra Visuals and Weather, Von HUD and something to enhance the laser visuals (they are quite sad in vanilla), can you recommend one? I've tried the weather previously (it's a must imo) and I love Von HUD as well. Other than that just little things like more logos and portraits. I also look forward to watching more of your content and learning more about this great IP. Oh, and thanks for the heads up on the video description. I almost never click "More..." in the video description. 🙃
Yeah it can be overwhelming jumping straight into all the mods at once. I personally consider coyotes missions mod a must have, but it does add a lot to the game. For the laser visuals, maybe try this one.. www.nexusmods.com/mechwarrior5mercenaries/mods/71

I woudl've been so lost without this guide. Thanks for making it!
Youre welcome, glad it helped!
no longer need star map overview as long as you use YAM as it is now baked in.. also known universe is a mandatory mod to me now..

@@Commander_XVII thanks so much! I'll try this again.

coyotes missions isnt on Steam workshop? or am i just missing something
Not sure, I dont use steam workshop. It may not be. I remember there are some mods not available on steam, just not which ones.
It is not. You have to get it on Nexus
Nothing quick about this video, it's 25 minutes of rambling.
