Playing the Siege of Orison event the CORRECT way.

- Star Citizen first event of 2024 is the return of the big PvE event Siege of Orison. An assault against Nine-Tails terrorist forces on the floating platforms of Orison in the gas giant Crusader.
CIG have spent weeks getting SoO bug fixed and improved after previous events had major issues that caused the event to break and AI to be non-responsive.
In this video, join me and members of the Forgotten Heralds as we clean house during one of our runs through the event.

Siege of Orison was fun this go around after the previous attempts put out by CIG had major issues. Most of the big ones were ironed out but there are still some issues like turrets not spawning or sometimes a lieutenant gets stuck in the ground after being killed by an Inferno etc. But overall this was a strong showing and the improved AI really makes it a blast to play with coordinated groups.
As Siege starts to wind down, how have you enjoyed it so far? Was it largely functional for you or did you run into issues? What would you like CIG to add or take-away from Siege of Orison? Personally, they need to drop the elevator stuff but that is just me, I'm not a fan of forced fatal funnels, not to mention the server lag can get people stuck or killed as they pile into an elevator.
Let me know your thoughts below, see you all in the next one.

Awesome job on the barge, I'm happy when I asked in spectrum for a video some one listened. Especially for the barge, where I had spent 2 hrs trying to find my way in and then out.
As a first time player for SoO and not having any videos to watch so I knew what to do, I really appreciate your team making this whole video.
Thank you for this, from your friendly Furious Ninja. Awesome and thank you.
Having a large group to do missions like these with must be awesome. I've only done SoO solo, and that entails me getting swarmed by 9T npcs that can headshot you from behind bushes 200 yards away with nothing but a bare SMG and iron sights.
They really need to add some more realistic NPC limitations. It should make a difference when you use concealment of bushes or darkness. In the same manner, it should also matter if you have your flashlight on. I love going on these solo, but getting shot by an NPC that you don't even have line of sight to is just spoiling the fun
I do believe they will "fine tune" accuracy and the lethality mechanic definitely before RELEASE.. imo CIG is about the details as we all know...and although it is somewhat frustrating that npc"s have all world sniper accuracy they will have the physics accuracy and damage mechanism ironed out..hopefully sooner than later but it will be tuned for more realistic play
Ive only been on 1 server where the npcs actually functioned and became smg snipers (despite having run SoO around 30 times this patch). Very annoying how the npcs are both non-issues and overpowered lol
Awesome run. And no lieutenant spawning underground, too! 😑
A friendly tip: try to avoid using medpens if possible - use medguns to heal your injuries for drastically lower BDL. If you're under fire and have to use medpen, remember to bring detoxpen with you - it will speed up the BDL decay rate.
Also, some platforms have fitness centers, which have T3 medical beds.
GG!! great communication between U guys! Total Pro! Awesome vid and nice to see SOO done without major bugs for once!!! Cheers!
Great team cohesion and communication. Reminds me of when I used to play Planetside 2 in outfit organized play sessions.
One day I will get my PC up to snuff to play SC ! 😂
the last one, ithink the issue is the heavy armor. i noticed when i wore light armor, i could jump 6ft further than my friend in heavy armor. just FYI.
I love the demeco once our hangars come out in 3.23 Ima load up on them
After 5 bugged lieuts in a row, ive stopped playing SoO, but in the beginning before the bugs starting hitting more often, i was enjoying it (im one of those types who runs in naked and grabs armor and guns from bodies. I hope one day that isnt a viable option lol)
Enjoyed the video, especially that you guys are actually trying to clear the platform. Its much easier to hug a side and ignore 90% of enemies, but once the game actually functions it will hopefully be necessary to do so.
If they ever get the npcs to be dangerous, those boring parts may actually be helpful. In a typical mmo raid, those breaks give you a chance to heal, plan, etc. for SoO now though, its much easier to grab a pisces and just fly to where the lieuts are
Amazing video! And you made me realize how much I stink at FPS and move like a turtle, while you guys move like lions.
Yea boi. Go get some!!!
Seriously good coordinated effort by the team.
You must take out the AAA to fly to next platform. Or just take a shuttle. Damn 9 tails is pretty dumb for not thinking about disabling shuttles to the platforms they occupy.
Could knock someone out and tractor beam them to the container. That is if you can reach them from a spot to rez them after they are placed on the container
how do you get he bosses to spawn
I use the Gallant because it is lighter than the Demeco and you can move faster and it also lands hits more precisely, especially with sustained fire. It looks like the SC version of the original M4.
I have tried it, but find the burst fire hard to deal with. Do you use the 3 or 5 burst setting? Also the small mag compared to the Demeco feels like a limitation. I've been gravitating more towards the Custodian lately
The elevators seem like such an unnecessary bottleneck for large groups and really slows down the pace, like by time you're up there the group ahead have already reached the objective on on their way to another platform. If they're unavoidable, at least make them massive freight or ship elevators so everyone can go mostly at once
they should have at least two fully functional ones.
there is literally no need to send the whole team to clear 1 building though. A team of 4 people is more than enough. These are office buildings and such, it's not a military nor industrial facility, it would look out of place. Functionally, for a large team it would have been better, but there is no need for a big team to clear a building of this size.
Impressive teamwork. I need to get with a unit. A bit difficult since I live in Hawaii. But I'm getting tired of solo play.
Brooooo, when was this recorded? I remember a run I did in white and opened the barge IFFI up top.
I know this is an unpopular opinion but the thing that irks me about Siege of Orison is the fact that it just doesn't *_feel_* like Star Citizen.
Star Citizen is about space, spaceships, exploration, trade. And I know that doesn't exclude FPS activities or events, but at the same time I just don't get a single "Star Citizen" theme from SoO. It's just a sub-par milsim exercise that is meek even when it works. If there was an actual space component to the gameplay, like for instance an EVA section or having to disable some orbital array or something, even maybe having to fly spaceships out to Seraphim or something (for whatever reason) would be fine - but as it stands the only "Star Citizen Appeal" involved is the fact that you have to *_get_* to SoO somehow, and that *_happens_* to involve going through space to Crusader.
Its not the VoiP what you Guys are useing or ?
or some Discord Radio addon stuff ?
and nice Video thats the Way to Play the Game. Koordinate.
The ending music volume is way louder than the rest of the video. Otherwise, i enjoyed watching the op.
lol this is a solo mission for me.
lol. There is literally ZERO challenge with this many people. It is impossible not to win.

The amount of cross chatter is giving me an aneurism "CLEAR COMMS!!!"
We normally split comms between fireteams but we were fully expecting the event to crash and burn as it had in the past so we went in casually.
Weakness. Man-up and get over it.
@HybridVAudio lol I get you. We usually do too but it gets crazy when SHTF
@@alandab I understand it's hard for you not to be a turd but don't be a turd
We respect each others time on comms when it's non-essential like this situation. Real-time pvp or otherwise and its much less chatter. Enjoy your time watching
250 years in development and we get jason stathom word salading with disembodied computer head woman. By the time sc is retail, real life will be more advanced than the setting
Like downton abbey but in space
I don't really know what you're talking about, but they aren't going for any kind of realism. It's more of a star wars sim than real life.
@@vorpalrobot why do the buildings/settings look 50 years in the future? Why so little efforting in the script writing and voice acting, for example?
The correct way is to not play SoO at all. It is boring and needs dramatic rebalancing, just go see the miserable time Vici Deum had trying to dive in on a stream this week, it showed everything buggy, broken and boring about the event sadly.
I’ve started it 3 times and had a good time playing in 2 out them, this because the first time I started it the shuttles didn’t spawn/arrive, other than that it was flawless. The only thing I could complain about is that enemy NPCs can see you from anywhere, even if you can’t see them, but you just need to be a bit more careful for that.
This looked pretty good...not sure what you watched.
not play SoO at all in order to:
1. not know what's the state of event is
2. not report bugs and halt the development
3. not give necessary feedback to improve it
Great tip!
@@AAX1975go watch other streams where it’s a buggy, boring mess for a more representative experience
@@idkusername2795The fact it’s so hit and miss is a problem: both times I played it totally bugged out and everybody had to quit.
