TO SAY THAT YOU ARE THE BEST IS JUST AN OVER UNDERSTATEMENT.... I have fallen in love with your way of teaching... God bless you.....You have no equal Sir
you have been so far the most helpful teacher! I've been avoiding learning with so many poor tips out there but now I no longer dread this part, thank you so much
Thanks so much for sharing this, been searching for tutorial for months on youtube, most of them just speed run like to show their portfolio but yours are really useful info in details and real implementation. Thanks again
I have been watching a lot of illustrator tutorials - a lot of them are way too slow for me - and will take nearly an hour to get moving. This was great and lightning fast- maybe even too fast! Thank you for making tutorials for people who don't want to be spoken down to! :)
I have seen many youtubber illustrator a bit selfish i dont know how to explain but you are giving your best and i feel that you want us to be more good i really appreciate just keep doing this.❤ From india by a begginer.
Hey, man! Even Da Vinci learned and practiced day and night 💪 he wasn’t a master from a start. Search in internet for ‘drawing basics’ and do all exercises. All depends on you, not anyone else ❤️ you just need to realize that if you’ll draw every day little by little AND will search for drawing tips in internet, you’ll be a good illustrator in 1,5 years. And then you’ll grow more and more. But if you’ll skip, learning can take 30 years. It’s up to you
I have been using Illustrator for a very long time and had not known lot of the handy tracing tips. The instructions given were very simple and easy to follow. The sketch file attached helped follow the steps clearly. The video guides helped me browse through the steps. Thanks so much, will definitely go through your other videos.
Thank you for sharing ur knowledge. I dont skip ads to show my grateful. I hope next time u would teach how to sketch in this stlye. I see many illustrators using this style lately, perharps its a new style in 2020..
My dear hero, you amuse me both by your slavic accent and by allowing me to have the opportunity of feeling the delicious taste of that which makes me most aroused: professional knowledge FOR FREE. Ultra like. Ultra subscription.
i am always confused when using pathfinder and why i need to use expand option....can you make a dedticated videos of why you use all the option in your workflow and how they help you....just wanna know the reasons...
Your tips and shortcuts are fantastic ! They really help my workflow as I am trying to do some portraits illustrations but have been struggling to color the inside of my shapes as I didn't really understand How to make it into shapes ! Thanks a lot ! I have subbed and will watch further videos !
Hi, this is my first month ever with illustrator and your tips have helped me so much! 🥰 My question is, can we draw overlapping lines first, and then use shape builder to directly erase unnecessary line segments and then click the areas to create closed shapes? (Instead of using outline and divide on pathfinder as you mentioned here). I was trying the shape builder method before to practice and now I'm not sure what to do. 😓Thank you
Thank you so much for such a practical tutorial! I was able to make my first flat character right after this tutorial, even though it looks a bit too simple... but at least I made from 0 to 1. One question: when I use divide to apply color to my design, I also encountered the problem of parts of the image not properly colored. I followed your way of using the shape building tool in the line for use layer and got it solved. But I can't sort this out in my brain: why can't I use the shape builder tool in the COLOR LAYER? I tried doing that but I could only use the shape builder tool once (once I clicked on a certain area, all other lines disappear so I couldn't do the same to the rest. I guess that's why you went back to the line layer. But I don't understand what happened behind this) Thank you so much!
Hi! Well, my friend, there’s too many little things here and there behind the workflow. So my mission is to show you my last decisions and combinations clearly. Everything else is up to you - experiments, try outs and so on. You will understand so much more after a few illustrations, you won’t believe this 😉
Well, I understood everything but the very end. 20:44 Why do we need to expand lines for use and unite them? When I expand lines for use, I see they are grouped as said in layers panel. Then I go and unite them and now I see that compound path is created and even then I can remove that compound path and do everything as before. What am I missing here, what are those two steps doing, what are they for since everything can still be changed? Also, he says, they are not lines anymore, they are objects now. Well, aren't they also objects when we divide them in properties and then we can fill each object with color? I am so confused here. Putting my confusion to a side, this was a marvellous tutorial, I learned so much. It did took me the whole day to finish it yesterday, lol, but I did it and today I did it again and was finished within half an hour. As a newbie, I still don't understand some basics so any extra explanation is always welcome.
Hi, thank you so much! ❤️ About 20:44 This is an optional step and you’ll need it only if you’re going to make an illustration for stock or else. You can skip this step. Hi! Thank you so much :D
The answer is simple: with this method Shape Builder won't work correctly. You'll have many unclosed paths.
This is gold. Thanks man!
