not to nitpick, but I personally would have taken a little bit more time in welding that adapter. I saw too many voids and inclusions. Not good where water is a potential concern in the environment. Allows for easier egress of water into the weld seam thus oxidize/rust build up, thus failure/breakage yet again. If its worth doing, it's worth doing right - the first time.

There is a big difference between a mechanic and an engineer who makes spare parts. There are precise calculations. This is called a machining engineer

Что за мода пошла все на резьбы и сварку. Резьба обычная не обеспечивает необходимый натяг деталей. Я понимаю если-бы резьба была конусная, тогда еще куда ни шло, а такой способ ремонта это полный провал. Только ради лайков.

When welding in the lathe, always have the earth clamped to the part, do not send the current through the bearing, this can seriously f**k the bearings!

I have rotary ground on the spindle, just like a weld positioner I bet they do also given they do this type of repair every day.

Fist you see all the voids in that weld and freak out.
Then you think to yourself: It is a threaded joint, the weld is there just to keep it from rotating; its gonna hold.
Then you notice the gear teeth and realize that the load path is rotational, not axial... What happens when you try to turn a nut loosely screwed on a bolt held in place by a chewing gum?

The arc soldering need really improvement to make better job and as already said, the V shape pathes would be welcomed and needed. I don't think it will be able to handle as much load than before it broke. Anyway, interesting to see but so many Not well done details.

Everyone crapping on the work and manner in which it's performed need to keep in mind that knuckle is probably from a truck built in the 60s. They have no choice to replace it , probably none around and can't afford a new one if they even find one.

YOU CANNOT STICK WELD CAST IRON TO HOT ROLLED PLATE. IT DOESNT WORK! NEVER HAS! NEVER WILL!
You can only braze cast iron and even then you have to preheat the material. This will never work!

You do realize that welding cast iron to a hot rolled material goes against every single rule?
This video is an absolute clown show…The only thing he should be making there is a clown cart to ride around in.
The axle housing already cracked from being overloaded. Does he think that one bead of stick welding is going to hold that together?
    This is hilarious😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
