So now there’s no electricity and no water - and no gasoline because there’s no power to pump it - for days or maybe weeks. And no food deliveries for a few days at least. The aftermath is very difficult.
I've been through things like this multiple times. The government will fly in supplies on cargo planes. They'll set up places where people can go to get supplies. Regular people will help clear the streets to be able to drive on them. Somebody will drive others to a place where they can get gas and place it in a gas container to bring to their cars. I lived in a large city though so I don't know if it will be far different.
This hurricane traveled with axe, chain saw, a whole lot of water and heavy winds. Ivan did the same some years ago to some Caribbean island. We have life, let us thank God.
So sorry for the state of the country, could you imagine what these people have to face, some maybe homeless, some may have to do a lot of cleaning up,, when we see it happen in other countries we feel sad much less in our own, may Almighty God give them the strength to cope with what they are going through with.
It made me feel so much better to hear the birds in this video. Florida is a beautiful place and the wildlife are such a big part of that. I am very sorry for such a tragic degree of loss. I miss living in Florida but not these strong, life changing storms. Very sad.
Makes you stop and think whats really important in this life...All the fighting and nonsense thats going on in todays society and in the blink of an eye it all changes..all material possessions are gone! Now its time to come together and focus on whats really important ❤
I live on the coast of Georgia. After I saw all the damage that Hurricane Hugo did to Charleston S.C. we now leave if a hurricane is coming. Now if it looks like it will be only a cat 1 we have stayed. But if it is coming in as a cat2 we leave. We have been very lucky. Hurricane Matthew was the first hurricane to hit our area after several decades of the last hurricane.
I know exactly where this is. It starts at Palm Bch Blvd and goes towards downtown just before Wink TV and Colusa Harbor retirement village. That area floods if there's a regular fl thunderstorm. So the residents are used to water being in their yards. God bless everyone in that part of town in grew up there...
It will happen some day. Hopefully not in your lifetime. Like cascadia fault line. It on average goes off every 250 years but it's long overdue. All we can do as humans is find a way to survive it all.
Well This is the risk we take living in a hurricane zone I lived through Katrina I feel it's worth the risk So I'm still here I wish them all the blessings I can and hope things go well with the recovery
This is so sad. I have personally experienced this in the Philippines with Super typhoon Haiyan. Houses got destroyed everywhere, no power, no water and no gas. It took almost 6 months for everything to return to normal. 🥺
That’s why you prepare. Hurricane season is not a surprise and plenty of warnings, yet people piss away money on shit they don’t need and fail to prepare and then bitch and complain after the storm.
Wow oh my gosh this reminds me of the flooding in my country Suriname 🇸🇷 😥😢Stay you all safe. Pray that this will be over and dry up soon. So much damages 😔
Yes the birds are happy, and the used car market will certainly have a huge inventory of used vehicles on the market that they will take dimes on the dollar for since that have been gouging people for the last few years.
Weren’t they warned to get out of town? I’m sorry for all that has gone on, but they had ample warning to get out. After all these events, I find it hard to hear the Excuse, “we’ve been through it before”, to give them my money, pity or sorrow.
I was in Fort Myers between June and July. My sister Malgorzata lives there. A beautiful village. Paradise on earth. Americans believe that you will rise. Poland was destroyed many times. two years. I wish you with all my heart strength and peace in rebuilding. You have a beautiful country of cool people. I have never met so many smiling people. Optimism beats from you. Take care of people and animals you will rise. After that you will come out even stronger!
Lord please shelter the weak and homeless . Open the hearts of those who can help. I thank you Lord for sparing us from the powers that had been heading our way. We will get through these hardships and be kind to one an other. Thank you for the prayers sent by so many. From Orlando Florida.🙏🙏🙏💕💙💕💙

It's not as bad as the video suggests, they're showing a few streets and an intersection. I live here, worst part not having power, unless you have a back up generator, and all the roof singles everywhere. Next problem will be the crook 'tree trimmers' and their cash only BS. I'd be terrified of alligators/poisonous water moccasin snakes or who knows what else lurking in those flood waters? Floridians are used to those wild swamp creatures who could end up in their back yards. I hope all stay safe!
Rounded dome homes survive extremes of weather like hurricanes and other storms better than flat walled boxed structures with roofs that wind can lift and blow off. They also tend to be more efficient to heat and cool.
