@HA4 YT Erin, who played Upgrade, left to pursue her career in acting but left on good terms (mostly everyone has who's left) and even returned for a special anniversary show for SPG
I love how The Spine went from an overly sassy automaton to just a grumpy old automaton who needs a break. And the fact that Upgrade's reaction to The Spine being too sassy was to scream at him. I love her so much--
Rabbit's winding up arm noise syncs up perfectly with Upgrade's twisting of her hips. I honestly thought there was some sort of noise machine that spooled up when she did that. If his arms weren't in frame, I would never have noticed. Also love that that's her "I'm happy I'm right and I'm so pretty" expression. These guys are great
The Spine wasn't actually built with a titanium alloy spine. He received that from the government in 1955, along with a multitude of highly classified weapons. His original spine consisted of smokestacks something like those on a locomotive.
I think we know that but um....you gotta remember that's what David chose to say at the that moment. I think he understands what his character was built with originally....Plus, they probably "upgraded" the back story a lot since they have busked in Balboa Park.
This new form of UA-cam kind of sucks. I'd like to reply directly to Vinyl Scratch, but it simply will not allow me on this device (on the mobile version). I have to reply to my own comment. FIX THIS, GOOGLE. Anyway, that's a good point.
Anyone else notice they were a LOT sillier then? I'm totally cool with that-in fact I'd love to see these types of antics again. Complete nonsense and roasting each other every five seconds. Upgrade was a cutie. Look at her go. I know there's a lot of bad blood with Erin, Sam, and Jonathan, but I absolutely love them.
@@mrbusinesss1 It's not so much bad blood just complicated history: Erin never really was too into singing and didn't want to dedicate herself to something like spg, she left the band a few years after the first album came out. The Bennet twins still have a pretty good relationship with her John is where things got icky. Throughout the recording of the 2 cent show, he would often miss deadlines, be frequently late, and just generally saw it as the original hobby it started out as rather than a full-time gig. The band eventually decided to let him go, which John agreed to and they parted ways. However, the community thought there was something bigger at work and a lot of speculation came as if they hated each other. They worked together on the 10th anniversary but Michael wouldn't wish to work with him again due to his timliness. I genuinely don't understand why people think there is bad blood between them and Sam. Sam had specifically told the twins that he would be a temporary fix to the hole that was left by Jon. He gave the band ample notice for when he would leave, and he as an artist should be allowed to pursue his own thing without speculation. Anything I've heard has been rumor and judging by the podcast he seems to have a good relationship with the Bennet twins still. Really the only "bad blood" s between the twins and John and even then it was simply that John didn't want that to be his life and his non-dedication to it was hurting the twins, who saw it as a living. Nobody was truly in the wrong, it was just simple differences that got in the way
I find it funny how Rabbit just says how if they dont make more crystal-pepsi The Jon wont be running much longer......its like he predicted the future or something! *Heart breaks because misses when SPG looked like this....except Spine because he looks more amazing now than he did then*
@@Dudeliness I know this comment is old, but what the heck you're talking about? The Jon wasn't kicked out, he left due to commitment issues, and also he now pursues a photographer career and has a family, so good for him. Yes, it's a shame he left, but we can't do anything about it. He's having a good life I hope, and we shouldn't take it away from anyone. And about Rabbit, do you realize that in a timeline where she doesn't transition there's a possibility she'd kill herself, as many trans people do when they can't be their true selves? Would that be a good timeline? Without Rabbit due to suicide, and probably even without SPG at all, as other band members, especially The Spine, would not handle that well. The timeline where she can be the woman she's always been is the best, and if you don't agree, eat dirt you transphobe
I mean, this is improvised while busking for a small audience, featuring different characters and done for different reasons (done spontaneously for the joy of it, rather than delivering a formal performance everyone paid upfront to see). Ultimately this only has a superficial connection to their touring act.
+StorytellerOfTheDead Yes, they have kept the comedy. I was with them in Sept 2015, and while the comedy has changed, it still the same silliness. The best comedy comes when lines are forgotten, or equipment malfunctions.
+StorytellerOfTheDead As I understand it, it's less improvised now, more planned. Bunny claims the Vice Quadrant show has "new jokes," which implies gags are rehearsed. And while I think they had jokes they fell back on when they were buskers, as almost all improv troupes do, the vast majority of it appears to be off-the-cuff, no?
@@MagicTurtle643 they often do things to fuck up eachother and make eachother forget things. Like when spine is powered down for diamonds. They will say things to make him laugh that arent on script
Omg I kept having problems trying to figure out why Rabbit looked so different. Heh, he doesn't have the black makeup around his eyes, silly me ^^; Still, I love this group so much, they're hilarious! XD
nah, during their time of experiments with time travel and space and everything in the Vice Quadrant era, they said that the reason why The Jon is still alive is because they go back in time to steal cases of Crystal Pepsi. So he's all good, just exploring the world.
They r nothing without Erin or The Jon. Erin had too much talent n The Jon was getting too famous. The biggest problem with The Jon was when he said he had no 'hard feelings' when they made up false reasons but was really distraught with the Bennetts (Rabbit and Spine) when they destroyed all of his fan mail right after they kicked him out (He lived less than 5 minutes away from The Bennetts...)
Seems like jon and upgrade were treated like garbage even during the shows, yes it's acting but wow. And apparently bunny held a grudge over upgrade because she was pretty. How petty.

I've only just realised that, after The Spine's introduction, Upgrade says "Yep, never buying your action figure." :P
Everyone's talking about where The Jon and Upgrade went, and I'm just sitting here mesmerized by Rabbit's makeup...
In my opinion, Rabbit has always done best in the wardrobe and makeup areas
Wikipedia says that the The Jon left to become an artist or something.
pokblok Apparently the Jon is a photographer, and Upgrade pursued a career in acting. Don't know how that went though
El Ocean That is what Jon is now, but thats not why hes no longer in the band. He was kicked out.

Well there's a few reason.
Her and Rabbit didn't really get along (like, out of character), and she wanted to pursue a solo career as an actress.

I think the video is corrupted or something. I try on my laptop and no video plays but I can play the video on my phone but there is no audio

Did they stop Making crystal pepsi because they wantws to or did jon just drink them all up?
