  • Replacing the master cylinder on a Sportsman. Should take you (depending on the brake line and bleeder) about 45 minutes.

    Your video helped me
I did it without removing wheel or beauty cover
    The sizes I used were
7/16 for the brake line fitting
    Adjustable wrench for master fitting
3/8 ratcheting wrench for master bolts
    1/4 wrench for bleed screw

You’re welcome. The hardest part was removing the brake line. How I did it first was removing the whole master cylinder and loosening it from the brass fitting. I then worked on free up the line. It wasn’t very difficult to break the bleeder loose.
It’s not a hard job, good luck and thank you for the compliment.

I noticed I have no fluid in my rear tank could that be why my foot pedal feels like it has no pressure it’s either not pressed or easily goes to bottom it barely stops the fourwheeler too

So with a Polaris the handlebar brake does both the front and the rear. The rear caliper has 2 different inlets in it so it should still have brakes. Pull your side cover off and look at the foot brake and see if it’s compressing the plunger in the master cylinder. It might just need to be lubed up and fluid added. If not just order the one I put in the description. It was only $15 with shipping if I am correct. Careful removing the lines so you don’t break the one at the master cylinder. It is really easy to change.

@@pilgrimsgarage yeah after looking my plunger is stiff and not moving so I’ll add fluid and that’ll fix it? I mean this damn master cylinder came like this my bike is a 23

It's been about a year since your video, I am wondering how the Chinese made master cylinder is holding up

Works fine. I was skeptical too but I can’t argue with it’s performance

Look at my video replacing the handbrake. What I did was back bleed the master cylinder. I used a cow syringe to push the fluid back to the master cylinder. It saved me from having to bleed the line.
Also be sure fluid is going through. Just open the bleeder and pump it repeatedly. The one I put on here works fine still.
