Enjoy all of your videos, sure glad Mike Morgan with "Outdoors With The Morgans" told us about your channel. Being around the concrete business much of my life, especially early years, now 70 yrs old, yeah learned MANY new techniques love it from SE Texas Bear
Same here with the Morgans. ✌
Same here
Yes sir! Mr. Morgan Mr. Morgan led me to this channel. He is a professional UA-camr this man is a true professional. Excellent content
Awesome! Thank you!
been watching you for about 2 years now and can"t get over the fact how you explain things Tom. You have a great crew working with you. Great videos, keep up the great work.
I appreciate that!
Very refreshing to see a man who is talking about something he He has worked with all of his life. Construction person first UA-camr second. Thank you thank you. Staying in your lane.
Wow, thank you
I have been doing Epoxy counter tops, on wood, for 8 years, about 3 years ago a couple bought a house with a concrete counter top but hated the color, they wanted to rip it all out and i talked them into covering it with Epoxy, they picked the colors i did the pep and mixing etc. and they helped do the design on the tops. when you get them to help in makes it more there own, they have friends over and they can say look what we did. I have recovered 3 concrete kitchen counter tops now. all for the same reason, they did not like the color. I like your design and always love the detail you put into every job you do. Thanks for the video Tom.
Very cool thanks
First saw you guys on ODWM and searched out your channel. Really enjoy your content and hope you keep it coming. I am a retired teacher and mow yards and do rental property repair on the side to stay busy. I love the hard work and appreciate your channel because of all the hard work you and your crew does. Thanks for sharing your jobs and work ethic.
Glad you found us. Thanks.
I really enjoy the variety of things your doing with concrete. Also is much more enjoyable watching concrete dry rather than grass grow.
Glad you enjoy it!
Another beautiful job Tom. The customer should be very happy. Can't wait for the installation. Stay safe.
I hope so too
Tom, You and your guys prove everyday that concrete is an art.
Thanks
This project is definitely the ultimate part of our work, I love the smell of cement in the morning,
Great movie
Looks nice. I liked the look of the smaller piece you had with the darker edges before you hand sanded them. It was almost a sunburst finish like you have on some guitars.
As far as music, it's better to have no music than crap like that first track you used. I have to manually mute it every time it comes on. I would recommend finding a track no one complains about and just use that for everything. People are here for the concrete, not the music.
I think we can have both Thanks.
Awesome counters! I’ve read and have seen construction of in place pouring of concrete counters, had no idea they could be pre-cast off site! Amazing!
Thanks for watching!
GOOOOOOOD
MAAAAAAAAWNIN
EVERYONE!!!….another very nice job. Looking forward to seeing the install.
Have a day
Thanks 👍
Thank you for the video today , it was great , Can't wait for you and your crew to come to West Virginia , hope you all have a nice time here
Looking forward to it
Looking great ,so far ..I'll be back to see the next phase for sure 👍 great Winter work 💯
Thanks
Who would have thought concrete would make such beautiful countertops. I like the look can't wait for the finish product.
Thanks
I learn something every time I watch one of your programs. I should be digging but I can use a break haha.
Thank you, Dford
My back always hurts when I get down watching you work ; -)
My back hurts when I’m not working
TOM, ya ever think about using plastic grocery bags crinkled then spread out and laid down underneath before covering with plastic and troweling for more line effect? Just a thought, but what you're doing is awesome!
I'm sure you have many ideas of your own!
No, but I do like thinking outside the box
Oh yes, that color w the veins and splotches really add character. I would have thought the coloring would have been put in at the mixer. The concrete being so porous soaked up the color I guess. Well, it sure worked very nicely. I'm also guessing the coloring in the runoff sitting on your floor won't affect that concrete because it has been sealed. I would have thought you'd sweep water out in cleanup, but it does make sense to leave it until after finishing the slabs is complete to keep dust on the floor. Can't wait to see them finished. This was very interesting and fun for me, but doing these after work sure elongated your days. You must be tough as nails! After the next video, I'll be thinking that sealing them this time will be enough since they will be indoors. Is that correct? Thanks for the video, see ya on the next one!👍👌❤🇺🇸🇺🇸
I think you would like install the best
@@Concretewiththehauses Yes, I am certainly looking forward to that, yessir!
So cool to watch you do this! An amazing job! Looking forward to installation. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
The countertops are looking awesome
Thanks
Tom, This was 1 of your neater videos. Never have I seen this before. I get the impression that you do these from time to time? A couple a year or so? Are you trying to mimick slate or marble look or is it just what turns out? I honestly didn't know you could polish concrete like this. That is cool. Look forward to the finished product reveal. As usual, above and beyond work. Thanks for sharing, Ron
About six a year just going for different looks on each one
Just wow!!! These are so nice, gonna be a great room with those in there.
Thanks
Very interesting process. Looks like you've done a couple of these. Great job.
Thanks 👍
Looks real nice ! Can't wait till to see sealer on and it dried !! Beautiful work as usual 👌 👏 👍
Thank you very much
I have wanted to do this for years. This was fantastic and they look great. Well done sir.
Go for it!
Thanks
Those look amazing! Can't wait to see what they look like after the sealer. They look like granite or something. WOW! As I figured fantastic job! 🤩
Thank you very much
You definitely are a artist 🎨 with concrete. I really like that. 👍. Have a great day.
Thanks, you too!
@@Concretewiththehauses Thanks
Beautiful work Tom!!
Many thanks!
Have you considered fabricating an extended pole attachment for that grinder? It looks like you could control it fine from a handle and save your back!!
Most of the time we raise the countertops up these were so big I did not want to move them yet. I’d like that idea.
@@Concretewiththehauses yeah I made that comment early in the video when I was watching you bend over all the way to the floor. Later I saw you raise them which helps some but a handle with optional telescopic length would be handy for when they are on the floor or the buckets.
Looks fantastic.
Thanks
As always great work, coming along beautifully👍👍
Thanks 👍
I did not understand the purpose of troweling the plastic into the surface. Now I get it. Great results!
I'm curious what the whole gamut of colors available might be. Can you get anything really brignt like a fire-engine red?
Yes, any color
I wonder if you could use shoe polish for your stain ? Just curious.
I’ve never tried that
Maaan, DJ Haus spinning the turntables during the time lapse!
Looks great. I like how you create the
veining nice touch. Who gets to clean up. Lol
Thanks who do you think?
Noticed your steel spray cans. Steel vs plastic by far the best.
We go through a lot of them
Very interesting and Quite a process with beautiful results.
Many thanks!
Wow what a great video. Like therapy
That’s exactly how I see it
I watch all of your vids! Great job! However, I have a question about when you made the sink insert block ... you traced the inside edge of the sink then cut the foam out to match that, right? What about the thickness of the sink material? I think your hole in the top is going to be VERY tight when you try to drop the sink in! Might need a bit of 'grinder trimming', I think. If it sounds like I have made that kind of mistake ... Ha! I did, but only once!
It is an Undermount sink. It will make more sense in the next video.
@@Concretewiththehauses Ahhhh! That accounts for it! So then as the remarkable Gilda Radner used to say ..."Never mind"! LOL!
I love marble and soapstone too much. 50 years and they haven't failed me yet. No cracks, scratches or chips and stains. Must be doing something correct. And got them used.
If it’s not broke, don’t fix it
That looks awesome!
Thanks
I think impeded pea gravel ground and polished would look very good to !!!!!!
It is endless
I wonder if the Morgans might be interested in these concrete counter tops for their new building, and in the future W Va place? They certainly seem very durable.
I will be out there soon. We will probably talk about it.
The pre-built cabin he's putting in W. VA is only a short term fix. He will eventually build a large cabin so the family can gather there.
That is so pretty you all do awesome job on everything you do
Thanks so much
Is it possible to for the top using the plank wood stamp like you can for concrete slabs?
Yes for sure
Would it not make the counter tops more durable if you were to apply a densifyier before the sealer ?
Yes, we use them on occasion not all the time
As always great videos! The music on the other hand…🙉
Sorry
been watching you since the beginning. I have my first complaint. that funeral music is bringing me down, bro😋
That’s not too bad if that’s your first complaint thanks we’ll work on it. We are trying to get better music.
Looks like it’s hard on the back to me .
How’s the tumbler working out?
I love it. Thank you very much. Coming up in a video soon.
Curious if it would be less process doing it in situ and giving it a burn
Not sure
Tom, is this a better method to add color instead of mixing the color directly into the concrete while mixing it up
I think so
Interesting process… kind of “antiquing” the surface, even as you grind off the weakest layer of concrete. Thanks,
You bet
scratches at level 6 with deeper grooves at level 7 >
Hey Tom, do you think you have enough hand sprayers? Project looks good.
Only about half work
Tom, I am curious of pricing comparisons to granite or quartz countertops?
Very comparable to granite
Google it.
That looks like more work than a normal driveway.
Don’t have to worry about rain or snow. Thanks.
Where does all the water go that’s on your shop floor?
Eventually squeegeed out the door
That’s really cool 😎
Thanks
How do those tops compare in price with granite or marble tops?
Very comparable to granite
Great opening shot.
Thanks Emily
How do professionally made concrete counter tops compare price wise to granite counter tops?
I think they are comparable
I'm assuming heavier gauge plastic would make more prominent impressions.
Yes, didn’t want them too deep just enough
These are countertops, why do you keep talking about a ceiling? LOL. The graining and patterns emulate natural rock. So cool.
Funny thanks
Nice and interesting
Thanks for watching
Why no vibration?
Don’t seem to need it
The family finishing procedures are not that different from auto body work. A textured finish might be nice if this is an outdoor counter..
I do like a texture on the exterior
How many man hours do you have in an average counter?
30 to 40 maybe plus install
Good evening
Same to you
nice
Thanks
👍
Hey Tom, I have seen cast concrete and slabs curl up on the ends before and always wondered how that happens. Is that a concern with cast countertops?
Yes, I had to replace a set last year because of that cannot use very much water
That's looking really awesome great job
Thanks 👍
Tom you need to get a wireless microphone. I just about couldn't hear you..
I have 2 1 is broken and one will not sync with my cameras working on it. Thanks for being patient.
Some of those veins looked too straight to me and just look like scratches of flaws. Why not use some of your patterns very lightly to get something more natural looking.
Just trying different things
👋🏻
Thanks
Just one man's opinion but I could do without that extra loud music. I rather voice over on time lapse.
Enjoy your videos, but you need a better hat...
I have several they get dirty quick
Man what a mess
I say that every time
💪😎
