Been a fan since the early 80's and couldn't agree with you more. The last time I saw them live was at Dodger Stadium circa 1988 for Disintegration tour ❤️❤️❤️🖤🖤🖤
Audio and video quality is outstanding for 'home-made' standard that is even better standard than many so called commercial professional enterprises. Mighty effort and thank you uploader ModOlek greatly appreciated. The Cure live isn't an easy task to capture with such high standard audio and video. I guess the reason for this in part could be because of the ambience and atmosphere the band attempts to convey to its audience not only by the band's performance, also the lighting and audio engineering crew/s who are also a huge influence on the overall show/product that is delivered to paying punters. For me The Cure is a no bullshit band. There's no fakeness going on here, it's not trying to fool the audience with B.S. No deception. They have never ever been about fakeness. I'm a 60 yo Kiwi [New Zealander] and unfortunately have never seen The Cure live. Boy would I love to anyone who has they/you have been witness to a no B.S. band of the highest standard in the music biz. As leader Robert Smith says the music played by The Cure is indefinable. in 2006 he said, "It's so pitiful when 'goth' is still tagged onto the name The Cure", and added, "We're not categorizable. I suppose we were post-punk when we came out, but in total it's impossible ... I just play Cure music, whatever that is'. The Cure are often regarded as one of the most significant alternative artists of the 1980s. They were one of the first alternative bands to have chart and commercial success in an era before alternative rock had broken into the mainstream; in 1992, NME declared that the Cure had during the 1980s become "a goth hit machine (19 to date), an international phenomenon and, yet, the most successful alternative band that ever shuffled disconsolately about the earth". Pitchfork dubbed the Cure the "unlikeliest alt-rock heroes" of the 1980s. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame chose the Cure for induction in its Class of 2019. Although the Cure had been eligible for the Hall of Fame since 2004, they were only nominated once previously, in 2012. The formal induction ceremony was held 29 March 2019 at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York. The members named by the Rock Hall for induction as part of the band are Perry Bamonte, Jason Cooper, Michael Dempsey, Reeves Gabrels, Simon Gallup, Roger O'Donnell, Robert Smith, Porl Thompson, Lol Tolhurst, and Boris Williams. Gabrels was initially not included in the induction, but was added in February 2019. At the Hall of Fame ceremony, the Cure were inducted by Trent Reznor before performing five songs.
*_"I much preferred lighter flames to liquid crystal forests at the gigs"_* I couldn't have said it better myself! The production was exceptional! A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in capturing this magic, and of course, to Robert and the guys! Like nearly every fan of The Cure, I am eagerly anticipating the release of the new album!
Il est toujours et encore émouvant pour moi d'écouter et s'imprégner de ce groupe unique qu'est The Cure... Ils devra impérativement faire partie et etre présent lors de ma propre disparition et voyage dans l'au de la ! 🙏
For the first time in my 41 years as a Cure fan, I feel emotionally uneasy about their new music. Of all the times Robert Smith has said it’s the end, this is the first time I truly believe it. The new songs, stage presence, and even Robert himself exude a sense of decay and the agony in saying goodbye like never before. It feels like Songs Of A Lost World will indeed be their final album, yet it still promises to be an amazing one and they still sound so good. I hope they will give the opportunity to see them live one more time.
Have you watched his recent interview. A snippet…two more albums to follow & he’s saying he wants to do loads of live shows until he’s 70, when he plans to stop. It’s a great interview. Of course he sometimes can’t do what he’s dreaming of. but he seems in great form & says has enjoyed the last ten years of playing shows more than the 30 plus years preceding it.
Nice summary of my own exact.emotin of expression after hearing the last album,,of what they have shared so far,, thought I would get all hung up on depression which I suffer,, but in my 50s I feel a similar feeling he is trying to express,, is I lost 35 years to hard drugs,,no advert!!,lol,,, it's like a final letting go of the past and what was,, and what shall be ☺️🤘✌️❤️🔥🤭😂🤣😁ahh dear such is life,, just happy I'm alive and I can sing along😉😔😔happy sad feelin,,mus say 🤘🤘🤘✌️✌️✌️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥bless, music be medicine,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,👌now I drop da 🎙️😂
Still my heroes after more than 4 decades. Robert's lyrics and his extraordinary voice are still breathless after all these years. Hope to see you in Germany next year! ❤
1st off thanks @ModOlek (and fans, christ you did it well). I was cynical of this, looks wise there's no hiding time across all of them, but screw that, you get to Endsong and you're utterly sucked back in and I'm stood in the force of Plainsong again when I first heard it and felt like it was all for me in a sea of hundreds of others. If the feel of a band being so laid bare and still creating the most beautiful waves of sound around can suck you in and get you on the edge of tears all over again it's special. The Cure still remind you of that feeling of being lost in the crowd but also knowing that by remaining yourself that will keep you true and brought closer by those that really count. I guess that total honesty is the main reason they still retain the young fans as much as the less so. "Blessed are the cracked for they shall let in the light." - Groucho Marx
Tottaly awesome how you edited this. One of the best live video edits out there. I havent seen them live since their Disintegration tour circa 1988 Dodger Stadium. Id love to see them live one more time . Im 54 now and when I see these videos and listen to them, it brings back so many good memories and makes me feel young and all the teenage years are relived as a Cure fan! Thank you for being dedicated to your craft 🖤🖤🖤❤️❤️❤️🖤🖤🖤❤️❤️❤️
The shoe gift!😄 It was a completely and utterly amazing show. I am so fortunate to have experienced this incredible band live once again. Perfection!🖤🥀
Saw them in Denver last summer - ridiculously good. Don't know if we're going to get to see them again in the states, and if that's the case, I'll be heading to the UK as necessary. You can tell he's just soaking in every minute. I think Robert always had his head on pretty straight when it came to the true value of fame and fortune, but now more than ever it seems like he stands on that stage and looks out to the singing, smiling faces and just gushes; imagining what life will be like when he can never see that again. Dang.
Without a dint of doubt one can say that the Cure still got it 🎉 Thank you for sharing this video. This is so far the best edit on the Net I have seen of the new material. Hats off! You are a real deal!!!

The Cure / Robert Smith are a truly fantastic band and musicians. Together, writing, recording and playing live for over 40yrs, very few manage to sustain a musical career so long, being a musician around bandmates so such long periods in recording studios, rehearsal studios, on the road touring in each others pockets is really difficult to maintain successfully and getting enjoyment and happiness from it before you end up getting on each others tits! No matter how good friends you are, relationships in a band are really tough to keep going. Then to write so many great songs for so long as The Cure have done is a real testimony to what a brilliant band they are. The unmistakable sound of the guitars of The Cure is the sound of the 1980’s with loads of Chorus and Flange effect on the guitars is their sound to a ‘T’ and produced so well and perfectly. Robert Smith is one of only a handful of musicians still playing for over 40yrs who has still got such an amazing voice now that hasn’t changed at all from when in his teens and early 20s. Most musicians after so long loose lot of the characteristics of their voice even when they had a brilliant voice previously. Roberts voice is still exactly as it was back then and hysteria as good if not better.

Alone
This is the end of every song that we sing
The fire burned out to ash and
The stars grown dim with tears
Cold and afraid
The ghosts of all that we’ve been
We toast, with bitter dregs, to our emptiness
And the birds falling out of our skies
And the words falling out of our minds
And here is to love, so much love
Falling out of our lives
Hopes and dreams are gone
The end of every song
And it all stops we were always sure that
We would never change and it all stops
Wе were always sure that wе
Would stay the same but it all stops
And we close our eyes to sleep
To dream a boy and girl
Who dream the world is nothing but a dream
Where did it go? Where did it go?
Broken voiced lament to call us home
This is this end of every song we sing
Where did it go? Where did it go?
Where did it go? Where did it go?
Broken voiced lament to call us home
This is the end of every song we sing alone
