- So I did the Inktober 2021 challenge 👻. For the last couple of weeks I've been working on this small zine project. I've been trying to tell a little story that continiues by each day of painting. This was harder than expected, but I still had a lot of fun 😄 Hope you enjoy!

I love love love this!!! So creative and well executed. It reminds me a little of one book I had as a kid about this child being followed by a cat that grew bigger and bigger until it confronted its fear and turned the tables on this creature.
That was my initial association when watching the beginning of this story, however as it continued I now have a different "head cannon":
In my mind the darkness is a ghost haunting the girl. She tries to make contact, but the girl responds with fear instead of understanding. So the spirit becomes angry and grows, becoming more and more threatening. When the girl finally confronts her she starts leading her away and as the girl continues to follow her anger lessens and she becomes more human again. She takes the girl deep into the forest where it finds the spirit's remains. Understanding what the ghost wants she stops being afraid, instead feeling compassion. When she hugs the spirit it feels she will do its bidding (solving her murder or letting her family know) and finally finds its peace - dissolving in the process.

Wow, that was so great to follow your inktober idea and process. Love all the drawings, story and the cool zine you got done at the end. I like the idea of leaving it open for interpretation as well. I know you said you are back doing Uni work agin and I just wondered what your dream job would be after Uni, if you could choose?
Oh I think I would love to work as a freelance illustrator for books and magazines 😊 But since this is can be a pretty competitive field i might settle for something different. I am currently studying media design so i might find a job in video editing or something like that.
We will see what the future holds! ✨

Wow,was für eine spannendes Projekt...und super umgesetzt! Hab auch sehr viel verstanden,trotz englisch ^...^^!Am Anfang dachte ich, es handelt sich um eine "Depression.also als "Monster" dargestellt...so ab Tag 20 dann eher, das es "Angst" ist und sie sich ihrer Angst stellt...Auf jedenfall interessanter Zeichenstil. Malst du oft mit Tusche? Das sah so aus als würdest du nie was anderes machen XD (aber da ich all deine Videos gesehen hab, weiß ichs besser ;) ).
Das Maskingtape werd ich mir vielleicht mal holen..kenns nur als Stift, was aber unpraktisch für grösere Flächen ist. Wollte eigendlichdsieses Jahr mal am Inktober teilnehmen, aber war nicht wirklich was für mich ^^. Zudem arbeite ich an meinem Skizzenbuch fast täglich. Aber mit Tusche werde ich im näxhten Buch sicher auch zeichnen, das jetzige Buch geht dafür nicht ^^.
Hey danke dir 😊 Ich habe früher viel mit Tusche gemalt und erfinde es gerade für mich neu. Und das Masking Tape kann ich wärmstens empfehlen, nur die Pinsel vertragen es nicht so gut 😀 Wenn du bereits täglich skizzierst ist das ja auch schon was worauf man stolz sein kann. Letztendlich kann man sich ja immer ein wenig selbst herausfordern!

I have a question. When moving onto working with digital art, how do you practice with patience? And scanning your sketches to work on them digitally? I love drawing but would love to do more with my work. I just don’t know how to start digitally or if it is right for me.

I would start by getting used to a program (I use Photshop and Procreate). There are a lot of great video guides here on UA-cam so I'd suggest to start there. The art programs can be helpful at both drawing digitally and also polishing up your traditional paintings. For scanning I use an Epson scanner with 300 dpi, but at first I used to photograph my works which worked just as fine.
