I agree with the Air Chief’s recent speech, but there are areas where the IAF need improvement. The IAF should show greater flexibility in the MRFA deal for the 114 aircraft. Despite the 36 Rafale deliveries from July 2020 to April 2022, we missed the opportunity to place a follow-up order for 18 additional Rafales at the same price, which was included in the original deal for 36 jets. The Indian Navy, while supporting the TEDBF project, strategically ordered 24 Rafales to fill the gap. The IAF could adopt a similar approach to enhance its capabilities. Much to learn from Indian Navy.
The respected Air Chief Marshall said it without saying that he does not trust to get the F35 from US and he would rather get the SU 57 from Russia. The latest deceit by US by denying the GE engines for Tejas is a perfect example of it.
Thank you very very very much for bringing our air chief Marshall's point of view on our air defence compatibility. I was so sad when I was watching his interview, defence ministry should take immediate decision on this

All 36 Tejas that were ordered have been delivered. China also uses state owned companies and they make more aircraft than whole of Europe including 5th gen and 6th gen. You cant make jets without engine or without sufficient funds. Just importing phoren maal won't help in a long war with China.
China also have no private companies saar. HAL doesn't make engines GE do. How china can make 60 to 100 5th gen aircraft and even develop 6th gen aircraft through state owned companies?
Sir I loved every bit of it. Thanks you so much to put up a show like this one ❤…could you please let me know what squadron means? 42 is recommended so how much we have now ?
That is one flying Unit ... each has 18-20 Aircraft !!! So 42 Squadrons would mean 840 combat aircraft, which we think is enough to meet are Airwarrior requirements!!!
You know, the better the Tejas performs and the closer it comes to delivery, the shriller the voices to scrap it and the Tejas Mk2 and the AMCA and to buy foreign aircraft become. I can't help but think that there are corrupt influences here as always in India's military procurement. The delay in Tejas is due to GE not supplying the GE F404 engines, not any delay by HAL If the engine import problem proves something, it is the folly of depending on foreign imports for defence. With a whole aircraft, not only will the IAF's supply be dependent on a whole lot more components, but also the continuation of production and whether the foreign governments allows India to develop weapons for it. The fact that the French have denied allowing integration of Meteor on any Indian aircraft is an example of exactly what the IAF can expect if India continues in the way it has been doing. The retired commander does not mention that the Tejas MK1 is the most reliable aircraft in the IAF inventory even after the recent crash due to the failure of an oil pump in the American made GE F404 engine, nor that it intercepted and locked on to Rafale and Typhoon fighters of the French, Spanish and German airforce (which are 3 times the price) before they could lock onto it in the recent air combat exercise in India, nor that it has the highest uptime and it is the most accurate weapons platform for ground attack in the Indian Air Force. The retired air chief also does not mention that the Tejas airframe flew in its current form in 2001 and it has proven to be ultra reliable from the get go. As normal practice a proven engine (the GE F404), and was supposed to be used initially and replaced by the Kaveri engine when it was developed. The Tejas radar, avionics and engine development was delayed by western sanctions for the Pokran nuclear tests in 1988, which nobody on the Tejas programme could have anticipated. The Kaveri engine therefore became critical. However the funding for it was wholly inadequate - not country had ever managed to develop a new engine from scratch with the funding given to GTRE, and GTRE did not have time to acquire necessary technology like single crystal blades, high temperature low creep blade alloys, heat resistant coatings, laser drilled air cooling holes, or the necessary test equipment under this funding. The Tejas was effectively frozen after the test flights were completed and the Government of India, which only had the confidence to resume circa 2013 or so, and that was the cause of the delay. The Tejas Mk1 went into service in 2016 which means the BS about the 15 year delay by HAL is just that. Also the 40 Tejas Mk1s have been delivered AFAIK and it is only six Mk1 trainers that are due in 2025 with others following later. These would have been affected by the same GE F404 engine delays that is affecting the Tejas Mk1A, so the air chief's comments on those not having delivered because of HAL's lack of performance is misleading. I think the Government of India should consider appointing somebody from the IAF who is able to work constructively with HAL, DRDO, and PMO instead of getting into shouting matches in the coordination role, as constructive cooperation and the ability to use whatever equipment is available and affordable is essential for the future of India's defence. The IAF needs to realise that they are not in the Pakistani military and cannot dictate terms to everybody else - they need to work with others in a way that is constructive. The BS that is being flung around does not help anyone. It is important to keep the Indian military including the top brass out of the influence of corrupting elements at all costs, because as China and Russia have shown, corruption is the one thing that will destroy the effectiveness of the military more than anything else.

@@IndianWarOfSchoolStud06 If you are that ignorant, why are posting? 1. The IAF has 2 squadrons of Mk1 FOC aircraft in service, and has been operating them sine 2016. 2. There was a delay of about 2 months in 2024 because the IAF posted a late change in software requirements for the Tejas Mk1A. HAL incorporated and tested this in about 2 months, so production effectively started in August last year. HAL has produced 15 Tejas Mk1A from that time but GE has supplied no GE F404 engines so they cannot be delivered to IAF. They have probably stopped the production line after that because normal production engineering practice is to stop the whole production line if supply of any component blocks production. That is because allowing unfinished products to accumulates increases inventory costs, storage requirements, disrupts resumption of production and quality because it interferes with the production process and quality control. The engine-less 15 have probably been produced to allow HAL to try to acquire some second hand F404 engines if IAF will accept them. HAL is acting like a competent and responsible manufacturer rather than a bunch of babus. 3. I am blaming those who at fault - they need to take responsibility. The IAF has been forced to take on their responsibility for the minor delay caused by their late change by PMO. GE has admitted blame for not supplying the engines on time - they can't really deny it regardless of how much the babu brigade tries to blame HAL for it. The government of India is also claiming liquidated damages from GE for late supply, not that it will help them, because it is due to the bankruptcy of their S. Korean sub-contractor who is supplying a critical component for the engine - not that it will prevent the delay because the company making the component is in liquidation. The babu brigade with their hatred for anything Indian, and unshakeable belief in the backwardness of Indians sure are in full song here. First they blame their usual targets HAL, DRDO, ADA etc. then when that proves to not be true, they blame their bete noir - US government for blocking the engines. Then when it is realised by anyone with an IQ that in order to block the export of engines the US government would have had to go through the US Congress, which never happened, they started blaming GE. When GE admitted fault, that wasn't a satisfactory outcome for them, so they started blaming HAL again. Really peculiar behaviour - why do we have so many ignorant babu culture minded posters logging onto blogs and posting rubbish? My theory is that it is the large number of IAS exam perpetual re-sitters who are visiting these sites in the hope of picking up general knowledge, who hate technically proficient people because they never managed to pass those exams, and who have developed an entitled babu mentality of looking down at others in order to compensate.
AM Sanjeev is really keeping up with the latest developments in the industry. He is the only expert who has talked about digital jet which means that you test ur design digitally before manufacturing even a single componet.
I think the government sector employees mindset is the problem, for aircraft manufacturing delay, the government should provide a private sector for this role.
HAL will not become the tech manufacturer. Better to allow our private company like TATA , Mahendra, Adani and others who are effective and capabilities to make.

Sir everything said and done it seems the defence requires a huge investment to meet the present challenges. But the saddest part is every one has become so demanding that it's become a maze for the government to decide where to begin with depleting resources. Adding to the problems that nobody is bothered about the fiscal condition of the country. With a population of more than 1.4 billion people hardly 3 to 4 percent are paying taxes. Local states without hesitation are announcing free bees to remain in power, the kisan want guarantees on every product, youths are seeking employment in government service and nobody is willing to anything for the nation.
Isn't the problem the lack of government funding of programmes like the AMCA, Kaveri, properly, and grant go ahead and approvals early? Why do we expect AMCA and Tejas Mk2 to be on time when only one third of the required funding is provided and the contract for the engines is still not finalised? The same problem is repeated. Transfer of technology is mumbo jumbo for ignoramuses who do not realise that other countries will not transfer technology to us until it is obsolete and will charge huge amounts for make in India. Why not just pay these huge sums to the programme for indigenous aircraft to get modern technology instead of second rate obsolete technology from abroad.
The government will continue to sleep for another 10 years. It's high time to act now-we are already far behind in the race. At this pace, we will have 5th-generation fighters by the time the world moves on to 7th-generation fighters. God help india 🙏
I don’t understand, were they all sleeping ? Did they not know how china and other countries were advancing their military ? At least from 2014 they should have worked with full force. If IAF chief is saying it then things must be really bad.
Sir average iitian chooses a foreign job over Indian........they have competition among themselves that who gets a handsome paying govt job..........so lets integrate students rathers than iitians with defense projects😂😂
The reason why SU 57 makes sense is because of the unreliable nature of USA on top of that F35 has a large order book as well and the reason why Russia hasent added many SU57s is because of AL51 engines which were originally planned for this aircraft is still not ready yet it's suppose to be ready by 2025 accordingly to the govt of Russia so let's hope for the best
I agree Su57 is better than F35 for India because, US cannot be trusted completely. See, what they are doing with the Aircraft engines. They are delaying without any valid reason and will do the same if we opt for F35. The Su57 will be atleast better than the Chinese 5th gen fighters. Amca development should continue alongside and we should try to complete it by atleast 2035.

All 36 Tejas that were ordered have been delivered. China also uses state owned companies and they make more aircraft than whole of Europe including 5th gen and 6th gen. You cant make jets without engine or without sufficient funds. Just importing phoren maal won't help in a long war with China.
Bro you cannot compare a $3.7 tn economy with a $20tn one. They are head and shoulders ahead of us
@@AmitKumar-y6g8s if you can buy expensive 10 billion plus phoren maal you can invest that money in DRDO and HAL.
Major sahab talking about India’s issues.. interesting!!
A fail disaster hindutva
China also have no private companies saar. HAL doesn't make engines GE do. How china can make 60 to 100 5th gen aircraft and even develop 6th gen aircraft through state owned companies?
Not a Tejas every single defence program are dealy this is reality of Indian defence sector
Indians need not worry of chinese military build up as indians are operating world famous flying coffins
Iaf not only lagged for fighters but also for Refuellers , awacs, transport aircraft, attack helicopters, Heavy utility helicopters
IAF chief - True patriot not like other boot leakers
Bro all defence service people are patriots I guess. What about retired ones? What about police ?
Do the Tejas lines work 3 shifts 24 hours 7 days a week?
Yes.But , Did IAF provided engines to HAL?
Sir I loved every bit of it. Thanks you so much to put up a show like this one ❤…could you please let me know what squadron means? 42 is recommended so how much we have now ?
That is one flying Unit ... each has 18-20 Aircraft !!! So 42 Squadrons would mean 840 combat aircraft, which we think is enough to meet are Airwarrior requirements!!!
Very nice

Are yar GE ka problem hai to fir ab tak jo 1st Tejas mk1 jo deliver hona tha iaf vo kyu nahi huwa ????

@@IndianWarOfSchoolStud06
If you are that ignorant, why are posting?

In coming time Mera Bharat mahan
I think the government sector employees mindset is the problem, for aircraft manufacturing delay, the government should provide a private sector for this role.
HAL will not become the tech manufacturer. Better to allow our private company like TATA , Mahendra, Adani and others who are effective and capabilities to make.
Those companies haven't even build a small UAV lol. Do you think china rely on private companies too?
joker analysis. HAL only assembles Tejas. 70% of Tejas is made by different private companies.
Lean truth first befor utter nonsense
Everybody knows but due to Political compulsion PM afraid of Rahul Gandhi & fail to secure fighter Jets 😢
Being an income tax payer I propose that we all should contribute directly to an organisation who are directly in RND of AMCA
India needs 60 squadrons not 42.
Why 60, let’s have 100!
In today's reality 42 squadrons is not possible. When mig 21 retired tejas are going to replace it so before 2035 it’s not possible.

Please hav a discussion on kaveri engine, ucav and CATS
Indians once argue with me when i said Tejas will be obsolete once they are inducted into IAF because of Indian snail pace manufacturing. First, IAF will reject them but they will be forced so swallow the bitter pill by Indian gov to keep India's defence industry going. 😂
The head of the technical institution must be from our firces so that the urgency of weapons manufacturing can be understood and implement on time

4) HAL ke higher officials ko sidha PMO ka access do means direct HAL ke chairman sir sidha call pe hamare PM sir se bat kar ke unko samsya bata sake and usaka solutionhum quick nikal sake beech me in burocrats ko hatao yaha se file waha ghumane wla natak hi nahi cahahiye ab bas bahut huwa inka natk we should do something on that and made these kinds of people accountable they are take granted of our national security needs ( i talks about burocratic hurdles peoples ............ )
5) sir aacha huwa aapne sacchayi hamare samne rakhi becus eab hame apana to cahl raha hai ki actual manufacturing me problem kaha aarahi hai and kya chiz hai jisase IAF satisfied nahi ..........
See HAL ki jin companies ke sath tie up hai and unki manufacturing product international std ko meet nahi kar pa eahe hai to DM ko yaha active hoke un product ka list nikalana hoga and un product ka foregion tech india me lane ke liye kya kiya ja sakata hai goverment level pe means money vagera ya indian indian influence ka used karana ho other countries ke sath tech transfer ko leke vo humko active hoke work katna padega and DM yadi serious hoke work kare to kam ban sakata hai.
Becus 40 sal hone ko aaye but fir bhi IAF hal ke sub companies ki manufacturing product se satisfied nahi hai to fir hal ne ab yak isako leke itane dino wait kyu kiya isake bare kya unone kabhi DM ministry ke sath bat nahi kiya ya iaf nr kabhi DM ministry kesath bat cheet nahi kiya see DM ministry me ek esa person hona chahiye jo in dono ko means hal ko and iaf ko actual kya dikkat aarahi ise address karne wala banda chahiye naki fiels pe sign karne wala ....... hame DM me solution nikale wala banada chahiye yar na ki files pe just sign karne wala hope meri bat samz rahe honge aap log .........
6) and theek hai HAL me proble hai it's k hume isko accept karna hai and isaka solution kaise nikala jaye ispe aage badhana hai na ki aaps me baith ke ladhana hai khas kar DM ministry level and hal and IAF ke officials level pe becuse hum aaps me ladhate rahenge to kabhi bhi sahi solution nahi pa sakenge esa mera manana hai ............
7) sir IAF khud tay kare unko kisake sath jana hai 5th gen jets ke liye means su57 ya f35 ke sath ( jo log hame fast delivery de paye unke sath hame jana chahiye ......... both jets are state of the art technology dono ki alag alag vishetaye hai jaise ki
1) su57 me man machine teaming system aayega but abhi unka man machine teaming system developing stage me hai becus ewe aal see in ukr they own shot down their form su57 which was gone uncontrollable by some technical glitch..........and su57 also contain state of the art weponary and wide radar rage to ....... any more like this thing ......... so IAF wants to go with su57 then it's k
2) but my personal choice was f35 sir becuse unka manufacturing process kafi jyada fast hai and f35 ko hum fully stealth kah sakate hai badme unke firm ke sath milke vo log jo 6th gen ke liye man machine teaming system bana rahe hai ya fir hum hamara desi man machine teaming system bana rahe hai vo unke sath coordinate kar integrate badme karwa sakate hai esa muze lag raha hai .......... but hamare manachin teaming system in f35 me integration ko vo allowed karenge isake chances kam hai esa hota hai fir hume unke man machine teaming system ke sath bhi gaye to bhi chalega np in it ............ us situation dekhate huye iaf ko jo sahi lage iaf vo desizion le ..............
Dono acche jets hai hame ab 5th gen ke kuch sqd numbers me option explore karne hone nahi to hamare adversaries ke pas bvr advantage sidha aajayega jo ki hamare liye sahi nahi hoga ( I talk about pak ....... )
Egypt is the first international buyer of Rafale
The fact is that no one wants to accept their fault, whether it is the IAF or the government; everyone is blaming each other. And talking about Indigenous Gun Major Sahab himself has conducted gun firing tests at the SSS Defence facility and says, 'Not even a gun,' even though SSS Defence received its first order from a friendly country (most probably Armenia) Yet, no questions will be raised about the Army or the IAF.
It’s time to realize. That India can’t match China in technology. They are atleast 20 years ahead with 6th Gen fighters. While India is struggling to build Tejaz from last 30 years.
Major how familiar are you with guerrilla warfare
Every soldier you have tends to be A carrier.

It was the IAF that wanted GE Engine in Tejas, Now they are blaming HAL. Hal is not good enough at what it does I agree but IAF(Imported Air Force) is not being honest here, they will import 10 things without proper trials but not order Indigenous weapons because x^y reasons.

1) time rahate yadi hum MRFA project final kar lete to us project ke sath foregion firms ka critical tech india ke privet firms ko milati and unka manufacturing karne wala work force bhi genrate ho pata but goverment ne vo deal hi nahi kiya ab isake chalte huwa yah na to koye indian firm ka tie up huwa kisi foregion firm ke sath na koye critical tech sharing huwa ............
( ese me jinke pas ( i talk about indian privet firm ) apana khudka work force na ho and pahale kabhi manufacturing ka experience na ho unko hum AMCA ya fir Tejas mark 2 sopane wale the ........ ese direct jumping nahi hota hai sir esa muze lagata hai har process ko gradually karna hota hai abhi bhi samy nahi gaya hai abhi ki kuch bat ban sakati hai yadi hum sahi steps le to ....... )
2) See ya to mrfa project hum finalise kare and foregion firms ka tech india me laye though our privet player .........
Ya fir MRFA nahi katana hai to fir kisi privet player ko hum LCA Tejas mark1A sope and and unko tech transferred de with 5 year indian governments back up gurrenty with funds and other jo necessary things hai vo ........... see jab tak goverment ke log in privet player ke piche strongly dhal Banke khde nahi rahnge to inke man me darr bana rahega ki hum manufacturing ka plant to laga lenge but hamara manufacturing us star ka na huwa jo expectation IAF ko hai to fir kya hoga is darr ka solution goverment ko hi unko dena hoga through their backing ( and ese thought hamare privet players ke mind me aana aam si bat hai becuse isase pahale unone kabhi manufacturing nahi kiya and unke pas isake liye abhi ek dedicated experience work force bhi nahi hai jo kuch bhi vo log investment sab new hoga unke liye so kisi bade entity ka ( means goverment ka unko backup rahega to privet player fir khulke samne aayenge ............ but yah sab DM ministry ko karana hota hai but vo log hai ki unone amca ke 2.5 years esi chotisi chiz ko karne me west kardiya unse aur hum kya hi expect kare I don't know aage aur kya hi kahe ...............
3) HAl ko LCA mark1 se hatao and unko bolo Tejas mark2 ki manufacturing ko vo sambhale ese me both aapke pvt firm and goverment firm dono sath me parallel run hopayenge ...........
Halaki hal ko shurwati 20 to 30 Tejas mark1 banane do but badme unko bolo indian pvt firm ko tech transfer kare badme aageka manufacturing of lca Tejas mark 1 vo log banayenge ............ ( suddenly abhi lca mk1 ki production line hum stooped kardenge to yah sahi nahi hoga sab kuch hame gradually katna hoga and ek privet firm ko apana work force and other infrastructure setup karne me max 2 years tak ka samy to lagega hi so tab tak hal Tejas mk1 ki manufacturing ko jati rakhe esa muze lagata hai ....................
HAL did not deliver in the past and they will not deliver now or in the future. India has to come to terms with this reality. Earlier the better. Otherwise the country is likely to face a crushing blow in the next war. This is the stark fact. You can criticise me but remember empty words cannot win a war! Also we have no right to put the lives of young officers in jeopardy by not providing them with the right technology and equipment.
For indian navy their destroyers are made by private company...they are doing good...bur IAF its done by HAL...Thats the issue i think.
Sad😢
Looks like general had some whiskey before the interview. J36 has 20 control surface
we cannot wait for tejas and AMCA ....It's already toooooo late...we need immediate Solution on to this....SU57 or F35..ONLY SOLUTION NOW

Why not increase funding for kaberi engine and give more funding to increase the production of upcoming Tejas mk1a amd Tejas mk2 aircraft?
Where is GDP? GDP ki kuch percentage to defence mein allote hote hay .
GDP ki kheyali pulao to godi media ne banaya tha to make Indian fool .
Need to follow what South Koreans did with KF 21 own engine after importing
LoL!.. you dont get GE-404 in time and you want to rely on US for F-35?!!!
We are not an ally of US. There is no chance in anything that we will get F-35.
Maybe it is delayed on purpose.
Tejas is complete waste. HAL is only covering their face with MK1,2 and other variants. much has been said about this in media. Operational clearance is given by IAF only due to Central Govt. Pressure. Otherwise Tejas investment would have gone to dogs. Focus must be given to modern and indigenous technology like 5th. 6th generation crafts. whatever lessons learned from this mistake, make it a history and look forward for advancements . Public private partnership is the need of the hours and accountability is important for future success. KEEP IT SIMPLE!
While Army and Navy keep adding more power enabled by quick decisions, Air Force keep complaining about deficit capabilities, AF takes an unusually long time in taking decisions, making the Political stakeholders indecisive.

'The country should be willing to pay the price to bridge this extra gap.' This extra price will come via taxes hope gov tweaks everything in a balanced manner.
Wrong ❌ turns... India should have gone for licensed production of the Russian MiG-29 in the late 1980s as a follow on to the MiG-21.
Anti air carft systems, missiles, drones and lasers bean to counter the 6th generation. Parallel the enginee development.
Without engine 😂😂😂😂

Indian Govt. should be blamed first, then GTRE, ADA, then HAL.
marut hf 24 with new kaveri engines can become supersonic medium weight fighter totally indigenous
Who are you fooling? Are you telling the world that you can develop a jet propulsion engine that can cross the stratosphere but not a standard engine for an aircraft?! 😂 Stop lying! That is the first step. Imported Russian technology is what you use and call it your own. Top class Paj eet is a liar paj eet
We have to skip 5th generation directly start working 6th gen fighter jets & parallely hypersonic missile, dron technology 😢😢😢
Issue is Hugh corruption in Indian defense sector
Why no reverse engineering done?
We r now paying the price of promoting mediocrity.
Reverse engineering is impossible without industrial espionage.
Govt should make Engine program as National emergency immediately..involve ISRO and Safran...provide fund..only discussion can't help
Uncle to rebut your mean time between failure shurli, if it is more, then there will be more crashes. In china the crash record is not bad.
Tejas delay is because of Mig 21. Rung dey basanti
The Indian taxpayers are doubting now. Is the workforce of HAL responsible for any accountability ? Do they have any dedication to the duty ?
U buy SU57, get ur azz sanctioned by U.S CAATSA
We will get SU 57 from the nation called imagination.
Our finance minister is busy to hit on middle class people pockets through tax to fill corporate debts but not ready to allocate on defence budget
