Everyone is differently able. Autism is a spectrum. Some of us have IQs in the 4th standard deviation, but we don't have much emotional understanding, or good spelling. Some of us are mute. Some of us are funny as hell. Some of us are simple and kind. And there are dozens of other kinds of different people too. This movie says that all the usual talents and abilities are wonderful to have, but they are not what makes you a person. Compassion, loving kindness, modesty, all help us to be better humans, but there is no perfection. Therefore whatever your blessings, whatever your challenges, be grateful. I like this movie. I first read "flowers for Algernon" in the 1960s. I also recommend the movie "the martian child".

I was waiting for her brother to come in while she did ballet. She may have done well in a class or even community theater.

This movie isn't a true representation of autism. Most autistic people can function pretty well. This is over-exaggerated. Preferred Rain Man.

My brother has non-verbal autism & does repetitive strange things or sounds continuously
There’s different levels of autism, I read actress Julia Robert’s has it, I think it may be more of an expression than a diagnosis or maybe changing like I hear diabetes is now referred to as a form of dimentia or diabetes 3, I really believe it’s a mineral deficiency related to a spiritual battle-body lacking some elements & soul lacking some of God’s elements, but to figure out which elements are missing takes a miracle from God which can only happen with much faith which takes so much challenges to grow that it’s rarely found.
