@Rhodri Efans Mate, back then we were running against the clock. Now the clock is chasing us, so fat shame yourself into some running gear for 2021. I need to do the same. I will do the same mate and get over to UK and show Fabziy how to do real runs haha. Anyone can run but can you still hit targets down range after? This is the question?. . . . Great to watch what the PTIs go through to establish and maintain standards in their trade. And they didn’t once stop to admire themselves in a mirror - marvellous!

@@pelekirokovadaa1139 It's tabbing, run, walk, run walk all the way through. It's the best way to increase speed over ground without causing too much fatigue compared to a straight run. The walking section lowers the heart rate without the need for a stop.
I am so happy to see guys running with their arms extended and not bent like many people still do. It really does make a big difference in running long distance. Especially when running with a rifle which is much better at the trail.

Got some questions Fabziy: How much weight were they carrying? What regiment and battalion are you in? Are you a PTI? What is your rank? How long have you been in the army?
I knew those hills as the Three Sisters, part of the Guards Commandants March & Shoot, when Pirbright was the Guards Depot. Full fighting order and SLR kit inspection, 4 mile run, the Sisters half way, onto the 24 obstacle assault course and straight to the ranges to finish. I did mine as a Coldstreamer, 1978. I'm nearly 62 and train in a Military fitness group, with forces veteran instructors..👍🇬🇧⚔️💂♂️
I went to enlist as soon as I decided it was for me, you don't have to be that fit get in, the standards are fairly tame for some trades. You just have to be fit to stay in. As long as you can run on bleep tests (speed training) and you have decent upper body strength (for the med ball throw). You can probably pass the assessment. Never worry you're not enough, because it's all mental. You're fitter than you realise if you just push yourself.
You need to be FIT period,....don't come here with a border line fitness you're just setting yourself up to fail. remember it's not only passing AC but you need to also maintain this through training..My advice be physical and mentally ready.
@@FPSPayback with how my current fitness level is at, i'd rather carry on training (specifically my cardio as that's where i've always struggled) before i send papers in, more so recently got to do some work where i had to do about a 200m run, wasn't so bad until after the 5-7th run haha, either way better to be fit when joining than humiliating myself for not being fit enough simple :)

Did that as a recruit, then in my infantry unit. It's something we annually to upgrade the soldiers. We call it "Force Marching" 45lbs. 9 miles in 2 hours.
We did 10 miles in 1 hour 50 min and then a 200m carry of someone else followed by jumping a 9ft ditch, climbing over at 6ft wall and finishing by putting 10 rounds into a fig. 12 target in a 4x2 group. Total time allowed with full kit on 2 hours 30 mins. 40 years ago.
