A beast of a unit .
Only time I travelled on one of these was between Hastings and Ashford (and return) on the Marsh Link.
I prefer to drive from the engine end of the unit with the windows open so you get the full engine thump

I remember when i worked on the Platform at Basingstoke there used to be a 9 car unit come up from Eastleigh which I had to split the first unit did empties to Clapham Junction for the Kenny Belle Clapham to Kensington Olympia second unit was a shunt to the by platform for the 06.20 to Reading and the 3rd did the 05:54 to Reading.

I really hope JT new route is this unit + a thumper on the portsmouth,Southampton + eastleigh triangle. With freight going to southampton docks.
My bad ... electric slamdoors I meant with the thumper from Southampton to portsmouth with the unelectrifed bit between cosham and I think st dents.
We need more train sim classic videos for slam door units !!

One thing that annoys me about the Brighton Line on train sim is when you’re in a tunnel the tracks are as bright as when you’re outside. Also the cab still remains bright inside. Wait, that’s two things!

Love these units saw one on the 6th April 2024 on the Cogload Climber Railtour from Hastings-Exeter Central and gosh it sounds brilliant when it departs but the one I saw was a class 201 I think
