Hi Karin! This video link is about chopping carrots... Love the content!
After living in the cold expensive chicago area for the first 60 years of my life, I finally moved to Savannah five years ago and have never looked back!! LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!
I hear that! I went to high school in Detroit and learned to drive in the snow. No thank you! My sister lives in Chicago and I'm trying to lure her out this way. 🤣
Wow! What a beautiful city! And I love the weather.
It is so cool with the dripping Spanish moss and 200 year old buildings. And it's pretty nice to wear sandals 10 months of the year!
Thank you very much Karin. I will stay in touch. Have a great week!! Debbie
Debbie Richter you too!
Great info, Karin!! I can't wait to connect with you on my next trip to Savannah!
Thanks Amanda!
Thankyou.the video i was waiting for.
My pleasure, thanks for watching!
Hi Karin,
I lived on the big island from 2001 to 2003. I didn't find that the cost of living was much cheaper than Chicago . But I loved living there.
Great video. Learned a lot about Savannah
I feel like I know you. Great information. and presentation. If I don't move I at least need to visit Savannah soon.
Very nice video! Great content as well.
Much appreciated!
I love your videos and just subscribed to your channel. We moved away from Savannah six years ago to be near family members but are MOVING BACK this spring! We're getting our house in Missouri on the market next month and are SO EAGER to come to look for a new house back "home."
Yay, that's awesome Julie! Thanks so much. I bet you'll be so happy to be back by the ocean again. I love being able to go to the beach anytime I want to. What area of Savannah did you live in when you were here before?
We lived in Paradise Park and then on East Park Avenue, which was walking distance to downtown. We're open to various areas this time and have done the old house renovation thing so we don't want anything older than mid century. SO excited to be coming back!!!
Too funny, I have a client who just wrote an offer on a house in Paradise Park yesterday!
Thinking of moving to Savannah? I'd be happy to tell you about the various places to live, the pros and cons of each area, and show you some 360 degree video tours of houses!
Hi Karin, I am in the process of moving to savannah and have been looking at apartments. However, I would like to know about renting a house. I am a nurse and would need to be close to the hospital-within 25-30 minutes commute. Thanks!
hi!
I am a Swede studying programming and love to migrate to USA when I graduated. I am in love with Savanah even before I been there.. my soul just know I need to move 😍 👍🏻
So, my question to you is, how can a Swede and programmer migrate to USA and find a job specifically in Savanah!?
... do you know of any work permits I can apply to or perhaps companies that like to hire a Swedish-programmer?
I think I would need to find a company that can also function as a sponsor for a Work Visa while they hire me to work by them.
Are there any companies you can think of or a direct department in the municipal government within Savanah that you could help me to get in contact with?
... any advice or contacts you can think of to help me get one step closer to Savanah would be so very much appreciated 🙏🏻😀
kind regards, Christoffer
I think I want to move there. You got me with oysters and golf courses. Need an assistant? Great video. Wish I was that creative.
Come on down, Chip! It's pretty cool to go somewhere that has a driveway paved with oyster shells.
Great Informational Video! Really enjoyed it :)
Thanks Raymond! What area are you in?
@@georgiacoasthomes Palm Beach County, Florida
@@georgiacoasthomes Thank you for asking!
Awesome video!

Thank ya 😊
Love your videos. Would love to learn how you created your logo/brand in the beginning of the video?
Your fellow KW Family member,

I bought the logo from someone on Etsy, if I recall. (It was years ago but I'm pretty sure that's where I got it.) Then I sent it to someone on Fiverr and asked them to make an intro. They're not expensive at all, I'm talking $10-20 maybe?
I wanna move to Savannah!

Moving to savannah from jersey!
I love your video!I'm being pulled to Savannah for some reason, it's very beautiful 😍. My husband and I both want to live there but I'm just wondering what there is for small kids to do? My daughter is three and a busy bee lol. I'd hate for her to be bored.
Rebecca, thanks for your reply! My son is 6 and we find lots to do here. There's a great FB group called the Savannah Moms Group. You ought to check it out and see what they recommend for kids her age. Plus it's only a 4-5 hour drive to Orlando if you're a Disney junkie. ;)
Love it!!!
Come visit! You can write it off as a business expense.👍
i live in savnnnh
Nice! What are some of your favorite places around Savannah? I'm working on more videos and I'd love some ideas from another local. Feel free to email me at karin@georgiacoasthomes.com.
I’m looking to moving to Savannah next year!! ❤️❤️
@Shamella Harris Awesome! I'm really excited to move there it's always been somewhere I've desired to move to and just the history and location really draws me in!
Shamella Harris oh yes so much history in that city! I can’t wait to take those historical tours and learn more about the history of Savannah when I get there ❤️
Great video. Thanks! My wife and I are looking to move to GA from Revere, MA. 10 min from Boston. It is getting crazy expensive here and pay hasn't changed much. For middle class like ourselves looking to start a life with our two kids is getting out of hand. Two bedroom apartments are starting at $1,800.00 and these are ugly old apartments.
I've been working in home remodeling with a college degree in advertising. So I'm hoping those two industries have a good demand down in GA. Def. looking to move to put a good deposit on a house down there. Up here you can't get anything good unless it is an hour away, at least, from Boston. And the houses aren't as great as GA.
Hi Levi, I have family in Boston and they have probably made a killing in the housing market. They probably bought their house for $50,000 back in the 70’s. I can’t imagine what it’s worth now! Yes, the job market here is very strong. And depending on what you want you can buy a brand new house 20 minutes from downtown for $200,000. I love how affordable it is here.
Did you ever make the move to GA?
i´d like to move over there but i´m wondering how much is the rent, grocerys, utilities and transportation for a single person. i´m from Mexico but i was living 2 years in colorado so i kinda know the american sistem but of course every place has their differences. i appreciate any information
I will be moving there in 3-4 months....
Great video!!! Is there anywhere I can take my dog to the beach with me in savannah or the surrounding areas?
Thanks, glad you liked it! Tybee beach is not dog-friendly unfortunately. There are two dog parks on the island but you get fined pretty heavily if you take them on the beach. Hilton Head is about an hour from Savannah and their beaches are dog friendly. Here are the rules: Dogs are allowed on the beach on Hilton Head Island. BUT dogs are not permitted - Between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. from the Friday before Memorial Day through Labor Day. So all day during the off season, but not from 10-5 during the peak beach season. Did that help?
Karin Carr, Realtor yes it does!! Thank you so much for your quick and thorough response!!
My pleasure! If you live in the Pooler/Rincon area the beach on Hilton Head and the beach on Tybee are roughly the same distance away so you could always choose HHI so you can bring your dog(s).
Karin Carr, Realtor thank you so much!!!
is this only for old golf people or is it interesting for men that stay young and like more skating, outside activities too?
Savannah has a pretty young, hip vibe in my opinion. You should come visit and see what you think!
btw...we have in mind Douglasville.
Douglasville is outside of Atlanta, so that's about 4+ hours from Savannah. But I know many great agents there so if you need a referral, email me and I'll give you some names. karin@georgiacoasthomes.com
I’d love to join your team! Im a Los Angeles Realtor!
I just checked out your channel. We should talk! Call me anytime.
I'm a recent grad looking to move here. Is there a lot of jobs in the environmental science field?
Hi Josh! I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that. I'm not sure who the big employers are in that space. I'd see if you recognize any of the companies on this list or ask that question in some FB groups for that field. www.savannahchamber.com/economic-development/major-employers

i plan on moving to savannah with very littlw money and will have to rebuild there. i will not mind because i am from detroit and am ready to leave to a warm state. any advice for me??
I went to high school in Farmington Hills a million years ago, it seems. If you're starting over after a financial hardship, rent a place that you can afford (maybe even with a roommate) and keep your expenses minimal. Pay all your bills on time. After a year you should see a big improvement in your credit score. Best of luck to you!
Where is the blog post for this video?
Thanks for checking it out, John! georgiacoasthomes.com/moving-to-savannah/
I want to move there I would love a nature city and jobs and poeple are nice I hear
I find the people here to be very friendly.
HOW FAR FROM JACKSONVILLE FL AND ATLANTA GA?
Two hrs from Jacksonville and 4-5 from Atlanta.
I want visit.
You should! It's a really fun place to visit. Beaches, seafood, restaurants, nightlife... it's a great vacation spot.
What is a good site to look for apartments?
I'd say rent.com, apartments.com, apartmentguide.com, even Zillow has apartment listings these days. Hope that helps!
Thinking of relocating from Connecticut goal is for June 2020. Can't wait
Awesome, come on down!
Hi Karin, someone told there's ghost in some Savannah house, is that true?
I am not very superstitious so I have never seen a ghost. There are lots of stories about haunted places here but I've never witnessed anything, probably because I don't really believe in that stuff. BUT many many people swear they have seen ghosts go I guess it's all whether or not you believe.
Im from NJ trying to move to Savannah

Anyone from Savannah that can share their experiences there? I'm looking to move.
I want to move there so bad!
It's awesome, and I really love it. And I've lived in 9 states so I've lived a lot of places. I love being so close to the ocean. It's soothing to my soul.
I am 62, and plan on retiring in 3.5 years. I was transplanted to Indiana/Kentucky from New Jersey, many years ago. I have been looking at Savannah, for a possible place to retire, or have a second home/condo. I really miss the water, and it sounds like Savannah has that. Is it a good place for a single female retiree? I love the arts, eat healthy, but love good food (CIA graduate, as in Culinary). Is the cost of living affordable for a retiree? I look forward to hearing back. Thank you. Debbie
Hi Debbie! My parents retired to Savannah many years ago, which is how I ended up here. I think it's a great place to retire. Hot weather, beachy area, affordable homes, tons of renowned restaurants, and it's artsy. I went to the CIA in Calistoga, CA once for dinner. I'm impressed you're a graduate! There are lots of condos and townhomes under $200,000 within 10-15 minutes of Tybee Island. Send me an email if you'd like to chat more! karin@georgiacoasthomes.com
Hi Karin,
Thank you so much for replying. I love hot weather, and I would love to be close to the water. I miss the coast so much. Allegiant has flights from Louisville to Savannah, and they are very reasonably priced. I am hoping to get to Savannah in October of this year. When I get my plans together, I will try be in touch. I would love to hear a little more about Savannah. I have been watching your videos. Great JOB!!! Your videos are very informative! Thank you for you help. Debbie
Thanks Debbie, glad you like them! October is a gorgeous time of year - not insanely hot but still beach weather. Let's keep in touch!
How can I find websites to find employment around Savannah.
@Raymondtacular Forever, I would check LinkedIn, Indeed.com, savannahjobs.com, careerbuilder.com, monster.com, and savannahnow.com/jobs. Good luck!
I'm thinking of moving to Savannah! I live in CT n am tired of the cold weather! I need help so I have ur number to see if u have some time so we can talk! Thanks for the videos; great information.

neusenda osorio That would be great! I look forward to it.
I am planning to move to savannah from Philadelphia. I want to know the pros and cons about moving to savannah
Awesome! You can read the blog post linked below the video, or feel free to call or email me anytime. All my contact info is on my web site at georgiacoasthomes.com. You'll love it here!
Sure thing! Pros: Affordable cost of living, major airport here, city nightlife, beaches, colleges, artsy environment, tons of history, great restaurants, not much traffic, nice weather, no more shoveling snow every winter. Cons: It's insanely hot in July and August, no major sports teams here, humidity takes some getting used to, relaxed pace of life is very different from major cities up north. You might love it or you might miss the fast paced environment.
Georgia Coast Homes by Karin Carr Hey Karin I recieved a job offer there from Bethesda, MD to Savannah. Just wanted to know if my pay would be comparable to that area.
Sid Latt congrats, that’s awesome! The cost of living here is significantly less then Bethesda so the offer may be less than you had been making but it will also cost you a lot less to live here. There’s a great tool I show in the video to compare the cost of living in two different cities. You should try that website out and compare for yourself. Let me know if I can help you in anyway.
Georgia Coast Homes by Karin Carr Thank you yes I will be making less currently making a little over 100K but the offer there is around 90k. So was worried but will check it out. Just nervous.
hello I'm an immigrant from Africa and would like to join high-school can you list me some of the high-schools
I would love to get a second house there
Prices here are very reasonable. You can even get a condo steps from the beach for far less than you would think.
Sounds good but I would probably want a single family home as a vacation home
I’d be happy to talk to you further. Just email me at karin@georgiacoasthomes.com and let’s see if I can help you when you’re ready. 😁
I'll stay subscribed to you and contact you when I'm ready
Sounds great! Feel free to let me know if you have any questions in the meantime. I'm happy to point you in the right direction even if you're a long way off from actually doing this.
Are tiny homes allowed around savannah
It depends on the area. On the outskirts of town where you can get an acre or two you can put whatever you like on it, but if it's in an HOA probably not.
Hello I love the video me and my girlfriend are thinking of moving to savannah and the thing I am curious about is the job market I myself work in the apartment maintenance field industry also looking to start my own handyman business and it's wanting to know about the jobs in that field are they fruitful down there or is it very little job opportunity in that field me and my girlfriend but tired of living in the cold climate weather in Indiana would appreciate the help on the job tips thank you
If you started your own handyman service here I bet you would do great! There is a lot of demand for people that are reliable because plenty of people will say they’ll show up tomorrow at 2 o’clock and then just don’t. If you show up when you say you will you’ll be set for life!
Houses
Two questions. 1. Diversity is very imporant to me...and...2. My vegan lifestyle is equally as imporant. How do these rate in Savannah? Side note, I DO realize, Savannah is partof the South, but I'm hopeful in finding plant-based foods without having to order from the "Sides" menu. :)
I'm afraid I am not a vegan and so I honestly have no idea if there's a large vegan community here. Having said that, we do have a Whole Foods and a Fresh Market and the downtown area is pretty forward thinking, so that's where I suspect you'd find more people with similar lifestyles. I probably wasn't much help, was I?
Great info
