Wow what an effort. This is great to see especially because the techniques people use/suggest are so varied. Hands: above head - above knees Feet: on the balls of feet when hands are at highest point Back: bends around 60-70 degrees (if 90 is horizontal) Movement: 1-butt out, 2-bend back 3-pull down And the setting seems to be at around 7!! spm: ~50! I tried this and except the first 500m it was impossible to keep up with. Although it is significantly different than how i use to pull, I still got my previous best time which is 2000m-7:47. I guess there is no magic formula, you are still limited by your body. I will keep at it though.
Wow am almost 62 and do between 2min 9 sec and 2min 20 per 500m and think am doing well... however am not going all out... be killer for me to go under 2 min.... per 500m go for 30min.. can't imagine 2h 28min at 1:45 per 500m pace... Was actually on the Canadian national team as a junior. This is another level!!!!
I don’t know. They didn’t say it in the video, but it was probably really high, like 10+, because he used a lot of energy from the anaerobic system in that finish
@@xcskiing_universe It would be interesting to know. I am also curious how it compares to lactate value in a real winter race. I don't think it's that high. Never seen any data published.
@@xcskiing_universe I'm using Ski Machine in the gym I visit. It is kinda copy of concept 2 . When I go 2 : 30 / 500m it show usually about 80-100 watt. And when I speed up it is 1 : 55/500m and I guess 120 watt, maybe 140. How did u calculate that 1 : 45 is 300? It's strange by the way that display of concept2 doesn't show watts here
My question is, what kind of cross country skiing is this? Double poling on a most of the time flat track? My answer is, it is not classic cross country skiing, it is commercially motivated competition which has nothing to do with real cross country skiing.

yeah so many tutorials on youtube look nothing like this. I rather look at this!
The Drag Factor he uses is like 70 ??
Some CF videos even recommend arms out after each stroke… You’ll never see an actual skier ever do this.

Sounds kinda dangerous…maybe even deadly.
Hvem bestemte musikken????
Insane 🤯, what was the Drag factor? Thanks
What in the world! Just doing a 2k on this machine is challenging enough -- I can't imagine 2hr 28min at such a pace.
you need a bigger goal. I had never used that machine before when I decided to give it a go and do 100k in a week.
@@baltsuhow many km per workout? What 500m pace? What stroke rate? Intervals or long continuous sessions?
Incredible performance
Are those "special" gloves? Or just standard bike gloves? I need some - hands and handles get too slippery past 5K.
It’s lillsport skiing gloves
Astonishing work!
hes a fit guy! looks like he could do the whole thing again
What was his lactate value at the end?

At what resistance level was it set ?
incredible!
7 I believe
Not to take anything from the performance, but the erg was modified
How was it modified? Do you mean the wrist straps?
Outstanding!
I can’t see watts on display. He is working on 1:45 / 500m speed I believe. But that’s not 300 watt
The average wattage of the whole effort was 300
1:45 is 300

@@aleksandrpetrov3938 in my experience170-175 watts is 2 minutes per 500.
This is insane, who is this guy?
Andreas Nygaard. One of the best long distance skiers in the world
2 time Vasaloppet winner. 4 time Birkebeinerrennet winner.
Wow
Helt utrolig !! Kjempebra. Legg ut en versjon med raw lyd og ingen musikk. vært arti å høre stemninga i rommet! Yewwww
