Over the next 5 years, Uganda's capital, Kampala, will work on building infrastructure that will ensure less flooding, faster commute time, and better road safety for the city's one million residents.
considering business as usual is a cause of increased CO2 levels in the atmosphere, climate change and devastating natural disasters which the poor countries suffer ( eg: floods presently in India and Pakistan), the richer countries, major polluters that is ought to put together a relief fund for such disasters that cost poor countries further drops in their GDP annual growth.
Those people who wore suits, ties, etc. should be ashamed of their outfits. I'm furious to see officials that are sitting on their asses, acting like there is nothing happening, even though i'm not from uganda. Their outfits should be a symbol of shame.
Kampala is indeed changing and hopefully such initiatives will make it a more habitable city for some of its poorer residents who have to live is squalor. The city continues to inspire ua-cam.com/video/OOr2BR6jWpI/v-deo.html
+Julian Mwine lots and lots of more work needs to be done....plus attitude changes too coz no point of having advanced things but still have a village mentality.
No pedestrian walk ways and why do u still dig trench v shaped water channels on d roads . Y u dont cover them .if some one falls in or a motorolist falls in who is liable to pay for the damage. I think u are falling short on that one n who ever is designing those trenchs is stupid to leave them open. Cause they are real death traps

Wow, after a century. It's about time u think of your own people.
Why has it taken so long a time to witness these developments in Uganda?
All the best
It's long over due. However we also should plan for a growing city and not only solve the current problems.
