Stone mason not joking around. His work looks really good. It’s all good. 💪 💪 💪
Yes his work is great
and it is good to see him in the video too - credit to him for the great stonework
Beautiful I'd say !!!!!!!
Looking forward to him becoming one of the characters 🇫🇷
Personally I think a depth joint is much nicer. It's too thick for my taste.
You give me the willies standing on the top of the wall all that way up without any safety ropes.
I suppose they don't have anything to sling it off at present, hopefully when they secure the frames together they can then use harnesses secured to the frame!?!
@@TomTomicMic They could put an anchor in the top plate. Thats not going anywhere.
Have to admit I was bricking it. I'll be so glad when the roof is done and dusted.
They are fine, grow a pair.
I really enjoy the glimpses of the masonry expert.
Wow, the stone work in the basement is just BEAUTIFUL!! Hang onto that Mason (what's his name again) and hopefully get him to help you strengthen all the brick work in the building while you are busy with so much else...He does excellent work.
Are you adding the stone mason to the team?
@@PatKnecht Yes !
Dieser Steinmetz wird ihm zu teuer sein. Der weiß seinen Wert. Das könnt ihr glauben
yep, lots for him to do on every floor...+ the arches and chimneys on the roof.
So peaceful to watch and so satisfying to see the finished wall - thank you sir
Wow your stone mason is AMAZING!! 😲😲
🤤 🤤 🤤
I really love everyone but basement brick layer man is a hidden gem. That work is stunningly beautiful ❤
Stone work is so beautiful. I've waited forever for it to begin.
Heavenly Father, praying for the wisdom and safety of these men. 🙏 🙏
There isn't one... it's just fate
AMEN!
@@trustmemysonisadoctor8479 an anagram of 'mean'
Had a crap day at the hospital for tests, cheers Dan for making my day a tad more bearable
Hope your tomorrow is better!
Prayers for you
You've been very blessed, Dan. All this work and no accidents. You're pushing your luck now. Wear a flippin harness.
😵💫 Wear a flippin harness...
The stone mason is an artist. Just absolutely amazing. ❤❤❤ I can’t wait until the roof is done. My heart might just give out soon. Be safe gentlemen. ❤❤❤❤
"It's a bit dangerous". "That's an Understatement". Of course said very casually.
WOW! That stonework is looking AMAZING!
Nick you are wonderful. Thank you for being Dan’s buddy. You make a brilliant team.
Those walls are a thing of beauty❤ You guys have hearts like lions. Great job😊
Watching you standing on top of that wall gave me wobbly legs even though I was safe in my chair.
Same here👀!
Me too 😭😭😭
We love you Dan. Please wear your safety gear. I will be glad when this tower is up. The work you stone mason is doing is pretty impressive. Well done team! ❤
The stone masons work is fabulous. I have to watch your vlogs with my eyes closed at times, 5:24 mins in and vertigo is in overdrive. Great Job Dan.
I can’t believe you guys are not tied off. I love this channel. I love what you’re doing, but the lack of safety is really bad guys.
It's improved massively since Nick came on board.
@@roseharvey2664 No--Nick ALSO worked without a harness today doing this turret!!! Bad Bad Boys!!! Use your heads and your HARNESSES!!!
Yes, I really think they should have a harness and tie offs. 👍👍👍👍
As to your remarking that the structure is going to be huge ,it is huge already. I was stunned actually ,seeing it all bolted together with massive hunks of wood gathered together in an enormous thick bundle❤.I can’t imagine anything in the way of weather causing any concerns when it is complete.
You can always tell by comments who are builders and who are not. They were perfectly safe up there. Your lack of courage says nothing of their safety.
Good blues for wet dogs and rain.
“Wet dog blues”
Your freaking me out working that height and no safety lines😮
Not Safe so DANGEROUS
Me Too CANT WATCH
There was no need for lines. They were perfectly safe.
Not that high from the roof.
Stop complaining
I worked a lot of dangerous jobs when I was younger but watching you up on the scaffolding brings out the pucker factor in me at 73 years old. Amazing job you are doing
Young mans work.. Alot of ironworkers that climb and walk beams in the US are from Indigenous descent. Nerves of steel.
My husband and 18 yr old grandson watch this with me now. I wasn't too keen on seeing you up there on the edge without a harness. I don't want my guys seeing you do this let alone your 2 wee little guys!! Safety first is a motto in out house!! 🙏🙏🙏
Standing on the edge - I couldn't look. Why no harness? Been watching from the beginning and full of admiration for you Dan, but please stop taking such risks. Your boys need you.
I fully agree. However, if Dan was not the risk taker that he is he would never have taken on this challenge and he wouldn't have gotten as far as he has by now. So I guess we're all here for that frisson as well. :D
He was perfectly safe. No idea why people want him to stop doing things that actually make his content compelling to watch.
My hearts in my mouth just watching you stand on the new wall .... it's not the fall that hurts - it's just the sudden stop at the bottom!
And all so unnecessary
You don't fall you float, the earth hits you!?!
That must make your heart sing to see the beautifully pointed stonework.
I agree with the previous comment. The lack of safety harnesses is plain daft. Bravery is one thing; foolhardiness another.
❤
Please dont project your nervous nellie onto others who are capable and know what they are doing. Have you not noticed that Dan takes no notice of you henny people.
no way would I risk my life like that.
@@matton36 It's common sense to practice basic safety and not being a " nervous nellie " to actually care about someones safety . I've had my heart in my mouth at some their antics even down to the fact Dan doesn't wear gloves at times , far better to bring up these things even if those things aren't acted on ........some people watching the progress do care .
Agreed! I truly care and want the best for Dan, use basic safety!!
So happy for you Dan, what a milestone to get that frame up, with the indomitable Nick by your side!
Dan, you may be taking it slow and methodically, but you are still managing to make us hold our breath while you manoeuvre those beams into place.
That stone mason is at the top of his game. Those wall are a thing of beauty.
Your mason is a true artist with stone. You are going to have one of the most beautiful basement areas.
The frame looks very impressive, can't wait to see the whole thing up.
The stone mason is making those basement walls better and more beautifull than ever! He's doing a fantastic job! 😃
.........................i agree , a real craftsman .
What is his name? He is now a person of de Chaumont history, and important. Amazing craftsman.
I thought some of the other episodes made me nervous….. THIS by far is the worst! I’ll be so happy when you guys are working inside!🎉❤
The basement walls are absolutely gorgeous!
The masonry is on point
A I am 73 year old granny and addicted to your Chanel!!😮
Me too I am seventy years and VI am french
Me too : I am french and 75 years old.
I love this channel...
I just LOVE the background music!
The stonemason is doing an awesome job.
Fantastic. So glad the wind had gone. The stonemason is doing a brilliant job, the stone work looks wonderful.
Looking forward to the roofing being completed, so I can go back to growing old gracefully. Fully agree with Nick "that is a understatement ". BLESSINGS
Even through the screen, it takes my breath away with fear! I can't imagine how Dan and Nick survived this work day in real life!
Dan your stone mason has truly mastered his craft. What ever your paying him is money well spent. He will have the structure looking like the day it was originally built.
Not gonna lie, watching you up there, I could just feel myself doing it when I was roofing many years ago. I got a wee adrenaline buzz from watching you free walking the top of the wall. Be careful guys, it's a long way down to that sudden stop at the bottom.
The Mason is doing an awesome job of making it look all fresh and new as well.
Oh Lord! No body safety equipment on either! So high up! You have utterly amazed me with all you have done thus far! Just a gardener? I think not! Hi from Portsmouth in the UK. 👍👍👍👍🇬🇧😀
It gives you a real appreciation for the craftsmen who built it originally, without power tools everything done by hand and probably using pegs to tighten the joints.
Admirable the grade of craftsmanship you are capable of! It’s clear that you have the admiration of thousands like me!! 👏👏👏
The frame leaves me speechless. The basement stonework is magnificent.
Chill music ! Well done! So beautiful and Thankyou for serene Nick!!!
Missing Brian greatly this week. He is So Needed this week!!
Basement/cellar looks great! Can't wait for all the roof to be done! I look for this video every day! Love watching!❤
It’s a beautiful thing on the roof. The stonework looks amazing. 😊
The stone walls look amazing! What a gem to find that mason!
It always makes me smile when I watch your enthusiasm and the pleasure you are getting out of this project.
the tuckpointing is incredible.
Its absolutely terrifying watching Dan work from those heights!
He only has himself to blame if something goes wrong
The Stone Mason has done a fantastic job of restoring the basement. He is a keeper! Dan expressed, "Its really dangerous up here" and Nick said, "That's an understatement"!!! Please wear you safety harness!
Dan - I predict you will lose many subscribers if you & Nick do not act wisely and use harnesses. Good grief! You have children to think of - not just how many subscribers you have. We are not the priority - nor is the Chateau! The priority are your sons!
The pointing is beautiful. What an artisan he is!
I absolutely love what you’re doing resurrecting the old château!! Fascinating!
This is your own made castle , it'll be a beauty by summer
I am a pipefitter and can say.... please do not pay attention to the unprofessionals trying to make comments on safety. People should really quit making comments about their opinions on what is safe or not. Focus on the awesome project!
Yes man, especially those housewifes sort of complaining about safety...
I realize this may not have been a historical monument for France but when you’re done it will be breathtakingly beautiful!
Great and amazing work Dan and Nick.
It's a damn good thing that it rains so much where you are. You can create a water reserve and store the rainwater for bad times, or perhaps use it to produce drinking water or to water your gardens.
wow, I never get scared like the way I see you today up there. My bad only shaking is very very scary man. Take care of yourself have a supported like the one when you make up the roof you have the one you wear. Can you please wear that one to be safe to wash you more because that one is very dangerous. God keep you safe, you and your family and your friend and I love you
OMG, you stood on that tiny wall. I feel a bit sick!! 😂
OMGthewalls look amazing!
Oh Dan, seeing you standing on the top wall, not tied off and blowing by the fancy of that piece of wood SCARES THE HELL OUT OF ME. We will all miss you if the worst happens, and think of your boys !!
SAFETY LINES!!!!! I’ve just survive Hurricane Helene and you’re freaking me out!
So glad you are ok. ♥
Nancy, glad you are safe. So sad the devastation!!
The work of the stone mason is absolutely perfect! it looks so good!😃
Basement is gorgeous!!
Basement is looking amazing and brand new!
Rendered walls, downstairs in steerage!! Are a work of art magnificent
This just Art. The landscape, the castle, the work. Compliments!
I look forward to every new video.
The view of it from afar is amazing
Stone wall looks great. We have to come up with new words the old ones don't describe the awsomeness.
We love yall from the USA!!❤❤❤❤
My blood was running cold again. Even the safety officer was non compliant. We all want to see this beautiful building finished by the dream team. I'm glad you took it slowly. Apart from that, your stonemason is doing an amazing job. Keep safe guys.
Wow beautiful work that basement is really coming along ! The roof is amazing as well , good work !
You and Nick are just super amazing! Well done so far! Holding my breath here! Please don’t fall - I love your channel!🤩
This building is very good for my yoga. I can now hold my breath for 20 seconds. And breathe...
😂
Oh the basement walls are looking amazing 🎉
Yes, been checking the weather in his area of France. Please wear some safety lines, my heart cant take the worry about y'all. I love watching you and really proud of what you have done so far. Safe travels! 😊
Didn't have a second of doubt in your ability to get that frame up, however a sense of worry did make my heart rate go up...
Wow great job you two. Roof is slowly coming together.
The stone Mason is amazing. Thanks for the great vlog
The channel that keeps giving. I almost wish I'd just discovered it so I could binge watch from the beginning.
You can always go back and do it...
Looking real good, Dan & Nick. Every piece u add, the stronger the Chateau gets to being whole again ❤
nice boogie - and great lime pointing!
Has anyone else started checking the weather in France each day to guess the likelihood of a new video being uploaded?? 😭
Ja
😂 Yes!
Yes😂
Nope
Yes
I’ve just realised I’ve been holding my breath for almost the entire video… 😮
C’est époustouflant ce que vous réalisez Dan ! Vous êtes formidable, mais faites attention quand même !
You’re amazing Dan. Unbelievable that you have done so much so quickly, BRAVO!
I’ve been watching a couple of years now and it’s looking amazing all the hard work you All are doing! 🗝️🛠️🪚⚒️🔩⚙️🔌🚧🚜🚚🌲🪵🌿🍁🍂🍃🦮🐕🦺🥾🧦👖👕🧥🦺
Excellent work, gentlemen. It's coming along nicely.
Stone work is looking great. He is doing a great job. Looking forward seeing the tower roof finished.
OMG. THE MASON COULDN'T BE MORE FRENCH DUDE LOOKING IF HE TRIED! Great work.
Rain, rain go away. Come again another day. Dan and Rick and Brian want to play.
*Nick
Holy xxx the view from the height while you were placing the top portions!!!! I had to climb on our ONE story roof for something, but I couldn't make myself able to get on the ladder to get down. My children tossed up one of their stuffed toys and their blankie. I had to wait an hour until my husband finished milking our cows.😮
Monstrous effort today lads. Top marks on a beefy looking structure. Cant help but wonder how the top section is going to be fixed onto that. Guess we will find out soon if the weather holds up 🤞
Aargh! Dan! Dan! Dan!
Please take more safety precautions. It’s terrifying to watch.
I really hope that one of the things that comes out of this is that more people follow in your footsteps and save all the old houses, manners, castles and buildings. Yes it's very hard work and yes it takes money but it's reclaiming a piece of local history and let's face it things are built like this anymore. They have to be saved somehow. You guys are such an inspiration. Well done.
