For all you who think that "Tänak would play second violin in Thierry's team", remember that in 2022 Tänak won 3 events with Hyundai and 3 times was second, Thierry won 2 and got 2 second places. Despite of spectacular crash in Monte Carlo and canceling in Kenya in championship points Tänak was on that season 2nd after Rovanpera.
still feels insane to me that hyundai threw him under the bridge for acropolis last year, esp when he was on a hot streat of victories and eating away kalle's points difference in the championship
Lol Neuville was off pace last season, look at his speed now
its another management now... That, and a couple of millions, made is mind... and the possibility to clinch another title. @@revenger210
@@revenger210 he wasn't even that close to Kalle. It was much more important to Hyundai secure 1,2,3 than give Ott more points
Nobody feels that Neuville is a better driver than Tänak. Not the drivers, not the fans, not the journalists, not Neuville himself. :D
Tanak was definitely thinking he'd be in contention for the championship in 2023 when he moved to M-Sport, similar to when Ogier did the move to them. Unfortunately the reliability just hasn't been there! I still think he regrets leaving Toyota but now there is no space there for him.
Leaving Toyota was Tanak's biggest failure of his career in my opinion. He would have been multiple world champion if he had stayed with them.
You are right but I think at this poin(atToyota) he was after the money ,cause akiyo is so passionate and team is so great ,Toyota genuinely likes rally ,and despite watching everything he wanted to leave Toyota, clearly he was after the money.but anyway let's see
Honestly I was expecting Ott to try at least one more year in Msport
I would love to see Sebastian Loeb return to Msport add Oliver Solsberg Adrian and Pierre would be a formidable team it would challenge for the win too i think
Agreed! Sort of how Subaru had Tommi and Petter. I think the teacher student and personality dynamic with Loeb would be very beneficial for Oliver!!
Not sure if Loeb wants to commit for a full season in WRC again, but he's been doing some rallies lately and his Lancia caught fire in WRX, so a partial appearance sounds logical
I would love this. I just don't think the Puma is cometitve enough to really challenge. M-Sport kept going on about Loeb's one win 2022 and the one other time they led a rally (until the car broke), trying to defend when Ott was suggesting the Puma lacks performance. But that's not (good) enough.
@@Flat4fun Seb has already taught Oliver how to drive on tarmac a few years ago, There's a youtube video of it somewhere, But I agree, I think it would really help Oliver, similarly to how Ott learned from the other Seb (whether Ott admits it or not).
Really?! Do what? Can't start always 7th on the road and he is near 50yo. His last victory showed that he can still have the pace on termac, but he needed Ogier to had a puncture on the penultimate stage to win. On Gravel and with top 3 starting order he would never catch Tanak. Much less Kalle.
Of course it is the most logical choice for Tänak to drive for the team that gives him the best chance of winning his second title.
Still, I can't help feeling so dissapointed.
Honestly, its just not good for World Rallying if M-Sport has no Driver on that level. The timing is also bad, and from a car development side since E.P is there its been going up, while Ott and Thierry seem to want very different setups and behaviors from the car, which restricts both in the end. Also Sordo being pushed out like this is not an improvement for the Championship.
I really tried to find an argument against... and couldn't. Sadly, you are right on all points. I think Ott's results will improve a bit, but the championship as a whole loses.
I am not sure what M-Sport has as alternative, but this is serious blow. The fact that Ott almost outperformed Thierry in team with far more money and support is testament that Ott is game changer and Ford is on good track. It would be shame not to see what Puma can actually do in 2024.
I don't know if anyone will agree but this kinda just makes me think that there really needs to be more manufactures in WRC. I say this with no sarcasm, why aren't more manufactures involved in WRC? is it the rules or something?
Rally1 has been a massive flop, and the promoters suck. There was so much positive momentum in the late teens with the 1.6+ cars and the talent the series had, and nearly all of it is gone. The fact sports car racing (and I say this as someone who grew up watching and still follows it) manages to have greater coverage in the racing press tells you all you need to know.
The cost of a Rally1 WRC car has got out of control and who wants to develop a hybrid powered car when manufacturers are investing billions in electric?
As much as I believe electric is not for me with current tech the manufacturers are committed heavily now like it or lump it.
Everyone agrees! This topic has actually been discussed to death and yes, it's mainly the cost but also the marke size, fanbase and appeal of the WRC product to the general public compared to other motorsports. WRC is small and not as appealing. But yes, more manufacturers make it so much better. Even late 90s and ealy 00s were so much better, then it all changed in mid-00s...
I believe loosening the rules would bring in manufactures. go back to gas engines as well. I get everything has mainly been done for safety but this is rallying...its meant to be dangerous which draws people's attention. Group B was so popular for a reason...@@steadyeddie2718
I just feel bad for M-sport. They're really trying their best to hang in there, but it's just not enough.
I feel you. Your words exactly.
😯 Be honest... did you see this one coming? Does Tänak have a chance at the drivers championship in 2024?
No... I hope he will stay with M Sport.
M sport is done...
Maybe, maybe not, but to be fair it sounds logical in the end. Tänak want's another title and the car that he does not have to overdrive to 110% is Hyundai, like he needs to do with Ford. He has to drive Hyundai maybe 103% to get the same results as Kalle. Kalle is the only competition from Toyotas side at the moment. But as Tänak has matured, smart drive will give him also good change of the title when Kalle is but to the pressure. Out of all the current drivers Tänak is the fastest, or let's but it this way, he can drive on the limit longer before making a mistake. That would mean Tänak vs Kalle next year.
Nope didn't see this coming, Tänak and msport have done so much work with the car, thought it's going to be winner next year
It will be difficult to compete against Neuville, can Tänak cope with such a situation?🤔
Good and happy for him. The PUMA really let him down this year. Tanak is the only driver who has not crashed his car this season.
Not a clever decision to leave Toyota in the beginning ☺️
Yeap. and he is paying the price for it. Good riddance
@@Josh_728 it was Makkinens toxic wife. They let her handle the contract negotiations, and it blew up in the team's face. Doesn't help that Markko Märtin was Otts manager. I hope to god that Ott never sees a Toyota seat again
@@tyronnezx Funny how I have heard totally different story, that Markko "Ryssä" Märtin was making ludicrous demans and basically Toyota called his bluff. They demanded exclusive first driver privliges etc. shit and Tommi said no. Good thing they rejectected them. Toyota has now way stronger driver line up, than they would have if Markko "Ryssä" Märtin would had his way.
@@UA-camStoleMyNick this is also true. This is what happened from Toyotas perspective
@@Josh_728 a finn simply cannot mention an estonian without personal insult
Tanak can definitely beat Rovenpera in the Hyundai next year. I also think there will be clausules in his contract in his favour regarding eventual team orders this time.
I dont think EP will be happy with a part-time season. Therefore, i believe he and Jernie will leave Hyundai and go to M-Sport. If sordo goes into a team management role and hyundai brings a 4th car, I believe that the 4th car will be teemu and mirko. I do reckon if lindholm and retta has a good next season they could get a debut in a rally1 car.
If Hyundai really wants to fight for the manufacturer title next season then they have to keep EP in a full time third car and hope he doesn't end every other rally in a convertible.
Ogier with his part time driving is winning too many events to give Hyundai a chance if Hyundai has only 3 cars out and the third is shared by Sunninen and Sordo or who ever.
Jernie, Mirko & Retta 😂 How about Janne, Mikko & Reetta haha
@@I.H.92 🤣🤣
Money from RedBull must have run out for M Sport for next year so they could not afford him.
Still they threw the dice and tried but it’s been a very frustrating season for all involved.
Doubt its that complicated, the money to pay Tanak is chicken feed compared with the money needed to develop the car that he wants
Something was a bit off after his win in Chile. Didn't seem to be that happy with the victory to me, this is probably why.
he never looks that happy tbh lol
@e2rqey I legit think I've only seen Tänak smile after his first win and clincing the championship in 2019. Love him as a driver but he really seems like a miserable dude.
wouldn't mind seeing solberg at Msport. however does leave them without an experienced driver unless pierre steps up. we know pierre has pace.
Solberg makes sense as a driver. He wants to get back to rally1 and well M Sport obviously needs a driver now. Problem is, M Sport are sponsored by Red Bull and Solberg is sponsored by their biggest rival Monster Energy.
Yes. Your description as bombshell is correct
a bit concerning
There were some rumors about M-sport leaving wrc. Maybe thats true?
Only 3 teams already suck, imagine a championship with only Toyota and Hyundai?! WRC really need to do something about it
Very surprised at this, seeing as Tanak was so unhappy at hyundai last year. Maybe msport is a chance for Mikkelsen to move back to WRC? Or perhaps they'll nab Sordo. They need an experienced driver either way.
That's the end of wrc
MSport needs a pay driver(s). Or a cheaper than Tänak driver who's got some experience in WRC.
AriVatanen & Ali Haimakainen gave FORD the CHAMPIONSHIP FOR FREE !!!
Cheaper than that It never can be... Malcolm Wilson still remembers.
msport need a go fund me page
in one hand Tanak does his classic Tanak things: shitty season because of team change/new car, gets car running to the point where he can actually be on podiums, changes team again... In the other hand from his perspective Hyundai offers much more money and more reliable car. But it's just so sad that Tanak and M-sport will part their ways again. It would be lovely to watch the next season when the underdog (M-sport) with diehard driver (Tanak) grabbing podiums, imo that combination added alot to this year, but unluckly puma is not reliable car at the moment. and next year there will be basically two teams, with great chance that m-sport slowly fades away...
agreed
I fan for Ott but not for Ford. So, wherever he goes, I'll be watching him with pleasure. He's one of the best out there.
I don't feel Tanak will be allowed to fight for the championship; I feel Hyundai is Neuville's team above everything else, and the team orders employed against Lappi and Breen earlier in the season proves that. So him coming back feels like a mistake, but inevitable given how much of a dog the Puma and the chaotic operations at M-Sport proved to be
I don't think that is the case. He will be equal to Neuville. He is probably better driver than him and that would be stupid decision to make him just a wingman.
@@markosajn5776 we can really only infer from the decisions that led him to leave last year, as well as Arbiteboul's statements this year about being determined to give Neuville the championship. I hope Tanak is given equal merit, but Hyundai has been ruthless with its team orders, so we will have to wait and see - and hope it doesn't blow up in Ott's hands
Neuville is clearly better than lappi and breen tanak and neuville are championship level drivers in my opinion 2020-2022 shows they are equal
@@revenger210 It will. People goto Hyundai to destroy their careers
Well, out of 3 seasons when Thierry and Ott were teammates, Tanak was higher in the standings two times. He has the world title. I cannot imagine a scenario when the team asks him to not fight with Neuville.
What did Ott expected? First year with M-sport and allready champion? It never works that way . He could create team and car for his driving style and have big chance next year. Now he second violin in Therry\Hyundai team again.
He can't create anything without Ford's support like Ogier had in 2017
@@feline6758 Msport atleast could lisening his no1 driver and make something what can help them to be in top. In Hyundai he wil be silenced.
Msport let down loeb the same way. only 1 win where the car held together. Same with ott retiring half of the rallies. Breen also could not get results with that car. They are just underfunded and not reliable enough at the top level. This is the second year for msport with a fast driver who knows how to win.
I don't think he expected to have a car had reliability problems as frequently as the initial World Rally Cars. That Rally Estonia engine block issue was one of the most embarrassing things I've seen in motorsport, which says a lot.
Nice actually getting some sort of insider scoop at 1:50. I'll give Ott credit, despite making one of the worst moves of all time he hasn't let his career fizzle out like what happened to Petter. I'm intrigued enough with next season to renew my Rally TV subscription.
doesnt surprise me in the least with his winning comment 'for a small bunch of guys they did well'
without works backing sport will always be playing second fiddle.
it shouldn't be this way
M-Sport needs a full time star driver for 2024 that can help develop M-Sports cars. WRC 2 has many drivers to choose from . But what will happen when Subaru joins WRC Ott will go there too?
That could happen and would be very interesting to follow and see.
We still didn't get confirmation from anyone (WRC, M-Sport, Hyundai or Ott or Martin themselves), but if this is true, it's a pity, but I can understand his decision.¨
The team he's returning into is partially different and seems to have a different approach. I'm sure he's not returning to play second fiddle to Thierry, I rather expect them to have the same approach as Toyota (you can race eachother however you want, but make sure to bring the cars home).
Why did he make the decision? It's simple, a driver of his level shouldn't have to give up his championship hopes because the car is suffering from problems all the time. I'm sure it's nothing against M-Sport, but that car can only fail him so many times. Ott Tanak is not the youngest anymore, in fact, he's the oldest full time driver now (turning 36 this month, although Thierry and Elfyn aren't much younger, and I'm sure these guys have a few more great years in the WRC ahead of themselves). And while rallying sure is fun for him, it's still a very hard, very time consuming and a pretty dangerous job. So if you're already doing it, if you're already risking your life and leaving your family for long weeks at a time, and you're on the level of Ott Tanak, you better make it worth your while. And the reality is, Hyundai can provide a better car, a better chance of the championship, and also a bigger monetary reward for his work than M-Sport can.
Could he have fought for the title with M-Sport next year? Sure, if they had the money to pay him and make the car reliable enough (which they seemingly don't). With Hyundai, he can be sure he gets the best shot at it. There's literally zero advantage for him at staying with M-Sport. He even knows the car he's getting into, because he was driving it a year ago, and he knows it will fit him.
Either way, this may be one of his last shots at the title. Neuville and Evans are looking strong too and Rovanpera will only get better. I hope for a close four way fight next year for the driver's title and a close contest for the manufacturer's crown too. And I hope M-Sport can have a decent season next year, get some good drivers and turn them into rally winners in the Puma.
Leaving Toyota was a bad move. I was hoping he would do what Ogier managed at M Sport. Not sure where M Sport go from here, they really need an A list driver to compete. Ogier?
Loubet and Fourmaux lineup would be the worst one I can remember for a long time.
I think it's always a bad idea to go back to your old team (CR7) or girlfriend (me), but hope it all works out well for both Tanak and Hyundai (and Neuville), not to mention M-Sport.
F your gf
Girlfriend? Ouch... I'd geneally agree, but I do think it's different in WRC with only 3 teams and M-Sport not being at the same level
Didn't see that coming
Understandable for Tanak, it's a short career, drivers must be selfish.
Fear for MSport. Few options for a lead driver - Mikkelsen, Loeb (not full-time?). Bad for the championship if the team is only a place for developing drivers, not winning rallies.
I wonder if Msport could sign Sami Pajari or Oliver Solberg. I think it would probably be the better option compared to those older and more expensive drivers. Maybe it's just me but i think Pajari could already do really well in a Rally1 car.
@@Baleygrr Expectation Pajari to Toyota as development driver for their new Rally2, with inducement of Rally1 in future.
I'm not surprised at all, it's felt strained for some time now at Ford and the only seat available was back to Hyundai but with new management hopefully Ott get's a fair crack at the title again.
I hoped Ford could step up but reliability has been awful along with some questionable decisions from M-Sport especially around the engine issue in Estonia, that was a shocker. Let's cross our fingers and hope it holds together is not how you win a world title. Money issues probably played some part in the reliability as M-Sport operate on a much lower budget than Toyota or Hyundai but the same issues cropped up time and again. Ford need to commit to the program fully if they are going to win another title.
This is like the rally equivalent of Daniel Riccardo going back to be the number 2 driver at the Red Bull, which is Max's team through and through.
That being said I don't think there are any two drivers in WRC who complain more consistently about their cars (not saying it isn't justified), so this pairing should be super fun for the Hyundai mechanics. 😅
Do you honestly think that Neuville will rank higher in the World Championship while having the same car with Tänak? I mean. On skill alone, Ogier & Tänak and perhaps Rovanperä are the best on the grid. Neuville is not among them.
Haha, completely agree with you about the complaining :D
But Hyundai isn't Thierry's team aymore. It was for years and that's partly why Ott left I think. But things have changed a lot since last season.
I'm just looking right now some of off season tests in monaco and my god the Yaris seems so much more under control. I wish Thierry Neuville had a car to compete.
Is this Luke Barry narrating? If so, excellent work. I'll watch Dirtfish's videos with this voice narrating.
It is me! That’s very kind of you
I could see it coming but still would not believe, although the new boss is a wise man so that made all the difference. I knew but it still is a surprise. This means 2 main Factory cars has now amazing season to come 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤟🤟🤟🤟
no surprise at all. you could see he was frustrated all year. he could actually challenge thierry and kalle now for the title.
So M-Sport will be officially a 2nd division team next year...
M-Sport has been official 2nd division team for long time now and it serves Malcom Wilson right.
@@UA-camStoleMyNick at least in the last couple of years they managed a freak victory here and there, all thanks to the talents of Loeb and Tanak to keep them in the limelight somehow. Now if their lineup is Loubet, Fourmeaux and who else, I doubt it can happen again.
Sad to see M-Sport lose its strongest asset but I guess *someone* has to make it harder for Toyota. Their driver lineup is simply so much better on average. Add to that the Yaris which in most cases has a performance edge and they are unbeatable. Nothing against Toyota of course, I love them, I would just love to see more competition in the championship. As for M-Sport... I don't know but I hope they can get stronger somehow. They did have a driver to contest a championship this year but the reliability was disappointing.
Now would be the time for the polo to come back. That car would properly challenge toyota. Its always just one great car beating others until it gets boring.
@@alvar891 Would love to see VW and more come back. I have played this shit out of Polos in rally games
I sort of expected this. Ott needs a reliable car and Hyundai needs reliable drivers. Msport are in big trouble, they need a driver like Ott who can help develop the car and not put it in the scenery every rally
Very well said. I also expected this and very much agree with your reasoning
Andreas Mikkelsen would be a great asset for M-Sport, he's fast and reliable.
The most overlooked and unlucky senior driver imo. I love young Solberg but I can't believe Hyundai let Mikkelsen go and le Solberg have a drive, and neither of the Finns have been better.
Leaving Toyota was a big mistake.
Also, why is M-sport still trying to struggle and hang onto Rally1 and represent Ford when Ford themselves aren't even giving M-sport full financial support?
Absolutly, 100%
Ppl keep saying that him leaving toyota was a mistake and that leaving hyundai was a mistake etc. All i see is him moving around helps shuffle things around. Him leaving toyota was great who needs one guy dominating others for years. Hyundai needed to get faster on fast gravel rallies and it did thanks to him. Msport needed a fast driver and he gave it all there. So did Loeb and retired the same way as him. Its better for the sport this way. Loeb and Ogier made the sport boring sitting in a perfect car for them dominating all those years. The fight between teams is as important as the drivers fight.
Somethings really wrong at M-sport, no one seems to want to drive for them
It's the lack of money and not been a full factory team
They couldnt even afford testing days. It's a career killer you have to deliver every rally but it's hard if you have shittiest car and smallest team.
Hyundai has changed a lot in last year, good move from Tänak if he wants to continue.
water pump issues
What do you mean no one wants to drive for them, I'd like to drive a Msport Ford Puma Rally1 !!! I wish i had a rich daddy and lots of $$$...
Rich millener needs to be removed, iv seen it all year and since he came on as TP theres a weirdness between him & the drivers like he thinks hes Billy big bolox and the drivers are under him
Tank returns
I hope 🇫🇷 Sébastien Loeb would drive the full-season with M-Sport next year. 🤔
Not even the maestro can win rallies in a car that gives in mid rally. He was frustrated the last time in greece when he retired from the lead because of a belt slipping off. Ott tried a whole season and just the same unstable car. No motivation to fight for wins when there is a 50 50 chance the car will break down either.
It probably just comes down to a guess by each driver at which team they think can give them the best chance to win next year 🤔😀
Hate to see WRC in declined if Toyota keep winning every year like Mercs and RB. Hyundai need to provide better car for Tanak to challenge championship leader next season.
I HOPE that Tänak's exit does not mean end for M-Sport. The Cumbrian team is an underdog, WRC desperately needs. The problem is that for some reason they tend to hire crash prone drivers like Formaux, Loubet, Camilli (And Tänak when he was doing his baby steps.) If they're not going to get hands on a quality driver it's maybe game over.
hire crash prone drivers or design crash prone cars? Loeb and Breen are on the record as saying that the cause of many of their accidents was from over driving the car. Formaux, and Loubet the same. Tanak was able to push the car but when he did it broke. Take any of those drivers and put them in a Rally 2 car and they'll win. The puma has 3 wins under its belt, and only when other teams dropped the ball.
Ott himself stated that the margin for Error in the Ford Puma is very small. And Breen crashed a lot in the car. And when he went back to the Hyunday i20, he was imediatly back to his winning ways in Sweden. So it seems obvious that the Ford Puma is hard to drive on the edge. I really hope that M Sport is able to improve the car, because I would love to see them win more.
Disappointed Tanak is leaving Ford, especially to go back to Hyundai. In 2022 he bitched about the I20 at every event
Surprising, while understandable move from both sides.
King video.
I'm sad but happy at the same time.
We need more manufacturers in the WRC. 2.5 is just ridiculous
no wrc and tanak confirmation what are you talking about?
So I'm guessing it's Neuville, Tanak, Lappi and Suninen sharing the 3rd car. Sordo sounds like he's calling it a day.
From my opinion No because he needs more km with puma we all now how difficult car it is. But is his choice I hope finding his winning again with Hyundai. Bad managing from msport they need new team principal.
Jeeze!
Calm down folks who knows malcolm already signed rovanpera instead 😂
That would be the absolute gigachad move from Malcolm😂
Malcolm should give Oliver a chance
Good move to have Tanak back in his i20
O.T#8, has always been very competitive & a top notch WRC champ. The biggest qn. is, their compatibility with T.N#11 at Hyundai. You saw what happened in his 3 yrs at Hyundai..Team orders.. etc..Who will be Hyundai's lead driver? Remember the tension between the Seb's while in Citroen.. In Toyota between Seb & Ott..I guess his decision is heavily leaning towards the new mgt. team as opposed to vehicle reliability. Understandable news, but it's looking bad for the WRC's future.
Hyundai apparently doesn't trust Neuville to lead the team after all
Seeing how many issues that Ott had with Ford, guess it's a good move for him.
Too bad Teemu fell out 2 stages before the finish, Lappi on the first stage. They could have changed the outcome.
Ott won as he could have 2 times more in this season already, so Ford lost big time.
Hyundai can only win with Ott even more. And no more team preferences this time around.
He always switches teams & always stays with 1 title.
Biggest mistake he did, leaving Toyota. He could be 3 or 4 times champion

It’s all about the money. I don’t think MSport can afford whatever Hyundai is offering to Tanak
Tänak has money. Rallying is not his only stream of money. Its just not the place to fight for the championship in. Retiring most of the time thru technical problems is frustrating.
@@alvar891 I disagree, if you lead a team you dictate the development of the car for your driving needs. WRC is pretty much a spec series in terms of downforce and horsepower and it's the geometry that makes all the difference, and driver input is key to that. At Hyundai it's inevitale he will end up driving 'Neuville's car'
Rip M-sport ⚰️
Time for Munster to step up !
M-Sport in deep s...
It was 2018 that M-Sport/ Ford last gained a title with Ogier. IMO M-Sport should restrict themselves to Rally2 as their top category as the internal combustion engine Fiesta has ended production. M-sport might concentrate on developing their next relevant Rally2 car depending on where the FIA rules are going.
Tanak needs a reliable car after an unpredictable season with Ford. Hyundai gives him just that.
It’s not in him to play second fiddle to Thiery.
So the WRC is screwed!! Remember why Citroen left Rally1?
Why Citroen left?
@@CalinFRBecause Ogier joined toyota.
Not going to work, mark my words . Is this legit ?
Fuuuuuuuck yes!!!!!!
well that sucks
I feel Tanak was faster in i20 than the Puma.
Can't wait to see what he does in the more matured i20. He only drove the one that was late in development. This years i20 is already much better and upgraded. The 3rd year car could be what is needed to challenge toyota.
This anti Hyundai and anti Thierry stand people have is so annoying. You can't have any reasonable discussion
Im not a fan of thierry but he is making the sport more interesting. Without him there would not be much left to watch. Hope he gets back into shape and fight for atleast the second overall. Hes had some bad luck too not always his fault he retires. Dont need Kalle to turn into ogier and win alone.
Just ignore social media and watch Thierry race, works for me
Can someone explain why Hyundai "belongs" to Thierry?
Is he funding the team ?
Because everyone wants stories about a good guy and a bad guy, and everyone acts like Ott is the underdog hero while Thierry is the big bad evil of Hyundai, just because he s loyal and actually solves problems and fights instead of running away if the car doesnt work or if he doesnt like the manager, on top of being one of the very few drivers who can simply outperform Ott on Rallies.
Because he is the best Hyundai driver. Like Loeb for Citroen and Ogier for VW
Man, I’m from Brazil and my English isn’t prepared for this guy. So hard to understand kkkkk
we dont know how new team managment looks this team i mean Thierry been in that team for long time and never won a championship, ofc he is a good driver but well still no championship.
As a diehard Hyundai fan (I drive a vt turbo R-spec) I was crushed when Ott left the team last year. It was understandable but things are different this year. We desperately need 3 full time drivers to compete with Toyota for at least the constructors. I just hope management lets the drivers off their leashes, it would benefit the team immensely. I would also like to see Sordo do the short season and management at the same time we need his experience in both endeavors .
Lappi gonna probably give his spot. He's been crashing alot this year
He's been crashing from the top. At least in Mexico
Bad move OTT what about MSPORT Loyalty. You won’t win the drivers Championship at Hyundai?
Bring Andreas Mikkelsen in FORD TEAM, come on !!!!!!
With the dominancy of Neuville , Tanak will be always in shadow there. A risky operation. Hope he will be happy there
Lol. What dominancy, if in half the rallys they had to tell his teammates to slow down?
I feel like at this point it's clear Neuville's ship has sailed. Maybe it did all the way back at the end of 2019 and we didn't realize it then. But I think most would say he's closer to Evans as a #2 who can win rallies then a proper championship contender.
Should there be come an 4th car? 😀
I wonder if this opens a door for Solberg in M-Sport
Ouch. This is very bad news for M-Sport. I guess they only have themselves to blame. The car is a beauty, but it is very unreliable.
Tanak has never been as strong as he was in toyota. since he left it has been all but decline, hyundai wont give him any chances as they already ruined his championship last year, because thierry is their first driver and tanak would be only 2nd in the team.
How about Oliver in a Puma……
M-Sport need Solberg, Mikkelsen and Pajari before Toyota get him, even if that means rushing him into Rally1 early. Going to have to leave Fourmaux in Rally2
Would not give up on fourmaux so early. Malcolm has polished many great drivers out of young car wreckers. Ott and Evans for example were horrible in the beginning.
@@alvar891I agree, but it's still too early for him I feel
unbelievable from Ott!!!
So he stays three (3!!) years in Hyundai, always complaining with the team (that last year was surreal), becomes almost irrelevant, goes to M-Sport (where he has almost as many victories as in Hyundai...!!!), complains, and after just one (1) year leaves to that same team he left, only he knows how.... at least a second year in M-Sport (since he gave three to Hyundai...) to try the title... and to trash Neuville's chances once again..... 😁
M-Sport options:O.Solberg,Mikelsen,Lappi.Not bad options.
Lappi is only an option, if Hyunday decides to only let him drive part time though.
Hoping for more car manufacturers too, wish him luck for next year! But hey...! i'm willing to join M-sport.🔜🔝🏁🚗 😲
