Though anyone suggesting that prison requires a greater mental tole than real war needs to watch a documentary about the aftereffects of entering the field. Having to live with watching your comrades, civilians and innocent children dying infront of you and it just getting disregarded as collateral damage is no joke, and only gets worse when you read the statistics of homeless veterans returning from the field with ptsd.

Losing sense of touch is horrible.
I used to have horrible migraines that would often leave one hand completely numb and unable to feel anything (while still being able to move it) which would in turn render me incapable of doing the most basic tasks, such as typing on a keyboard.
It also made me weirdly unable to recognize my hand as my own, due to not feeling it
