This place looks like it went abandoned in stages. Some of the offices look like a more recent abandon 10-12 years, but other parts like the lab and where that old drill press were, look like abandoned decades ago. Amazing no graffiti or vandalism, must be very protected or remote. All the draws have been riffled through so there was evidence of some treasure hunting. The poor dog, must have been a miserable existence and death. Maybe ran away from home, abandoned by owner and dropped off nearby, or just lost. Interesting it picked the stairs to die, probably due to damp rained on floors with puddles. stairs were the driest spot as this place looks like it can take on water. Great video!
What's really sad is how many resources (books, furnishings, etc.) were WASTED when the building was abandoned. Makes no sense at all not to move those things on to people who might have used/enjoyed them. In their minds, I suppose it was easier just to let them rot away with the building.....
Can you imagine the money they would have gotten by selling the old stoves, chairs, etc and the old books which could have helped support the new college. Wonder what some of those books were?
Cool and very creepy too. If someone wanted to they could live in there for quite a while without being bothered. Great find! I was a little surprised to see no graffiti all over the place.
During explorations, can you find products that might have dates on them and read them off? It gives some perspective as to when the area was last used. For example, those trophies may have had dates on them. I did see '03' on one of them, luckily, but I can't be too sure. EDIT: Thanks for reading the date on that '1987' trophy. Try some of the papers or cans!
BackyardExploration your walking in a building that has black mold everything, hope you have a thing on to protect yourself, I'm watching your video now and its getting disgusting, seeing all that black mold, its making me sad just watching it.
You explored this on my birthday :3 I go on explorations, too. Have yet to find something this cool, nor have I a reliable camera to document it, but MAN! This was cool :) thanks for the footage
matt nichols Emergency exit signs run on batteries in case of a fire and all electricity to the building is out. That way you can see where the exits are and make it out of the building safely
the exit signs don't draw that much power, i run a store and we havent replaced the batteries in our exit signs in about 8 years, so they don't have to be strong batteries.
+Eric H I've installed these signs, the batteries only last 45 minutes to an hour when the power goes out, then the batteries are dead. Yes, they're for emergencies, for the immediate aftermath of a power outage but they will NOT run for as long as that building has been abandoned. There absolutely 100% HAS to be power ran to them for them to still be on.
Eddie Bostero Most of the places I go, you just can't do that. It would be giving away too much information and everybody and their mom would find out where it was located. All of the valuable items in this building would be stolen in a second.
+BackyardExploration telling us a little history of the place wouldn't hurt.. 90% of these people watching these video's wouldn't even go there, they just want to know the name of the place and how did it end up like that, the curiosity is overwhelming! Plus I think if you did that it would help bring you more subscribers because only a couple of explorers who are on UA-cam do that.
At the end, the pages were moving by only one book and the other books on the floor didn't seem to move.. that was creepy.. not to mention the lighted exit sign was on.
Great find. You can tell that this used to be several really beautiful buildings once, with lots of nice tall windows, and beautiful doors and woodwork. Was that theatre on the second floor?
I've been there, but did not come with a flashlight and was afraid to enter beyond the copy machine, lol... Creeper out!!! This college is right on a main road, and the lawn remains manicured!!! Also, the new college (or at least the currently functioning college) is RIGHT across the road, which o thought was strange...
at 13:30 looks like there would be standing people on the top floor to me at first... But just were a painting on the wall ^^" I began to see other people everywhere after your "i think i am not alone in here", kinda spooky >.
Daniel Stiffler I didn't say anything about "weapons". I wrote "some kind of protection". I don't think it's illegal to carry a can of pepper spray with you?
Guys this guy is Sooo underrated get him more subs by sharing this video with your friends, dude your awsome for doing these videos👍 keep up the good work.
Seeing such places, I am often tempted to try and find who owns these places and see if they would allow me to scavenge materials. Something like an old growth wood window sill can be worth a decent amount if it has aged well. Craft-men, though who like to make things like myself are always on the look out for old wood that has aged. I could work out a percent of profit deal from them or something, ha.
Hey the vids are very good but I would like it if in every building that you go to that had an elevator, press the button to see if it still works but keep up the good work.
I find it disturbing that a college would leave behind so much paperwork. I hope that none of that contained personal information. Also weird that they would just up and leave without clearing everything else out.
Can't understand why there is so much (once) very useful stuff left behind. Also there are just so many abandoned buildings in the USA (I don't live there) and I would love to know the history of them and why they came to abandoned.
Have you ever been walking around a place like this and there is someone in there with you. You didnt know about? Or have you ever been to worried after hearing a sound come from some place with in the buildin?
Loved it. Good job! You are braver than I am. That place was falling in on itself. Dude, I hope you carry a weapon to defend yourself if you come across some freaks whacked out on meth or something. At least use the buddy system lol.
Sad though I get America seems to be a throw away society, with little maintenance and just use it till it's about to fall down rather than repair it & keep it going....
+Bert Skidmore That's a metaphor for American society. *OLD?!?!?!* Throw it away and get a newer, more-compact version!!!!! To HELL with history.... SMH... what a pitiful state our world has become when our appliances are smart and our people are dumb....
at 15:38 of the video as u can see the pages of the book were flipping so if u didn't opened that book and the pages were flipping that book would of be there at the end of the page unless SOMEONE BEEN THERE
It really weirded me out that at 1:55 and other parts of the video that exit sign was still lit considering everything else is decrepit.....wonder why the power is still on....I'd be scared of a future fire or something. VERY CREEPY.
+Marla McDonald (ETERNALTOAST) There's an abandoned high school in town untouched since 2008 and the exit signs are still lit after all these years. I wonder what kind of battery those things run on. I've got to get me some of those.
You're unfortunately absolutely right-that particular, highly possible scenario had slipped my mind. If such was the case, then I hope what goes around, comes around.
miah022 110 years, the founder was actually born a slave. It's a pretty prominent college, I wish I could post more information... but you know how that goes.
That metal clang at the end scared the crap out of me.
OMG that dog must of gone through a lot 😞😓😓😓😥😥😪😰😿

***** Well the dog may had been a wild one and lead a fine life till near the end. We will never know for sure either way.
I hope you're right
In complete awe. I wonder how long it's been abandoned for....something tells me it shut down in the late 90s or early 2000s based on what I saw
What's really sad is how many resources (books, furnishings, etc.) were WASTED when the building was abandoned. Makes no sense at all not to move those things on to people who might have used/enjoyed them. In their minds, I suppose it was easier just to let them rot away with the building.....

I almost fell into my screen trying to read some book titles. You are courageous vidding (new word) all alone. BOO!!!
An incredible find. Thank you for sharing with us!
That painting has a lot of meaning in it...evil..All Seeing Eye..but the man is interesting-the way he is staring at the viewer and dressed...creepy
+Masta420 You are correct. Being a 32nd degree Mason.
Cool and very creepy too. If someone wanted to they could live in there for quite a while without being bothered. Great find! I was a little surprised to see no graffiti all over the place.

The "oh my god" moment actually made me jump, nice explore man.
with all that mold i hope you have a respirator goodness!
Come to VA & take me with you exploring! Mark it off my bucket listttttt!
that mold is killer, and you almost killed me with that loud noise at the end
Earnhardt rocks! All those books looks like a scene from Fahrenheit 451
BackyardExploration your walking in a building that has black mold everything, hope you have a thing on to protect yourself, I'm watching your video now and its getting disgusting, seeing all that black mold, its making me sad just watching it.
This has been on my bucket list forever lol
anybody know the name of this college? i want to see wat it looked like before it was abandoned dammit!
Tim Burton can bring that mummy pooch back to life in a good way.
You explored this on my birthday :3 I go on explorations, too. Have yet to find something this cool, nor have I a reliable camera to document it, but MAN! This was cool :) thanks for the footage
So cool! I would love to visit abandoned places but we don't have many here plus id be too scared to go by myself, haha
panclacks Its dangerous to go alone! Take this!
Has a building ever collapsed around you while exploring? This one seemed really dangerous.
Your videos are SO ADDICTIVE
At 1:57 the exit sighing light is on. Their.must be power in the building for some odd reason.
matt nichols Emergency exit signs run on batteries in case of a fire and all electricity to the building is out. That way you can see where the exits are and make it out of the building safely
Eric H Those have to be some the strongest batteries on earth since that building looks to be abandoned for at least 10 years.
the exit signs don't draw that much power, i run a store and we havent replaced the batteries in our exit signs in about 8 years, so they don't have to be strong batteries.

sir you are a braver than me gungadin, I wouldn't have gone in that place for a gold clock, that black mould is lethal.
Was that theatre on the second floor?
sooth15 Haha yeah, and soon it will be on the first floor. It was barely intact
You're videos are believably AWESOME, is this also in the Midwest ? Thank you for taking us along, you know Missouri IS a right to carry state :)
I've been there, but did not come with a flashlight and was afraid to enter beyond the copy machine, lol... Creeper out!!! This college is right on a main road, and the lawn remains manicured!!! Where it at?
at 13:30 looks like there would be standing people on the top floor to me at first... But just were a painting on the wall ^^" I began to see other people everywhere after your "i think i am not alone in here", kinda spooky >.
Did not think that exit sing would be lit
This is an HBCU. Likely built by slaves/ former slaves. The original parts.
The OMG was funny. Was there anyone else in the building?
And Fido is still faithfully waiting for his owner Billy to return.
This is dangerous as hell. I hope you are carrying some kind of protection with you. also a mask would be wise in moldy places. great video, btw.
He cannot carry a weapon....in most states it's called armed trespass if you are caught. jail time!
Daniel Stiffler I didn't say anything about "weapons". I wrote "some kind of protection".
I don't think it's illegal to carry a can of pepper spray with you?
+benny s You're legally allowed to carry pepper spray anywhere you go except a courthouse or police station.
Excellent video.
Good video
it looked like in the one room with the posters, that someone was living there at one point
You are brave as fuck.
Do you wear a mask when exploring these places? All that mold can't be good for your lungs. D:
Dude. That was nuts.
Awesome videos man, keep it up. How do you find all of these locations? I've been looking for some to explore in northern IL
Guys this guy is Sooo underrated get him more subs by sharing this video with your friends, dude your awsome for doing these videos👍 keep up the good work.

03' trophie? Judging by the chair in that same shot 2:41, i thought for sure it was early 80's
That dog is creepy. Man if I was there with my friends we probably would have high tailed it after seeing that
Maybe that's what happened to Scooby-Doo? Damn, dude...
I find it disturbing that a college would leave behind so much paperwork. I hope that none of that contained personal information. Also weird that they would just up and leave without clearing everything else out.
+Katy Bauer I saw at least 2 computer as well. No doubt the hard drives would contain a lot of information relating to students and staff.
like your videos ! but it would be great to know some information about the places you visit :)
Can't understand why there is so much (once) very useful stuff left behind. Also there are just so many abandoned buildings in the USA (I don't live there) and I would love to know the history of them and why they came to abandoned.
The power is probably not on; the batteries in those old emergency exit lights last frikkin' forever...
Have you ever been walking around a place like this and there is someone in there with you. You didnt know about? Or have you ever been to worried after hearing a sound come from some place with in the buildin?
LMAO the part where you kicked the can
How long do you think that place has been abandoned?
The exit sign is on? OMG...just watching this makes me feel nervous.
that place look like it been abandoned 20+ years
Do you have any more info on that college? Seems like such a waste!
great job :)
The dead dog freaked me out, like please tell me that wasnt real... like... no... why was it even in there?..
Have you ever been caught trespassing? I would love to do this but worry about legal implications.
Loved it. Good job! You are braver than I am. That place was falling in on itself. Dude, I hope you carry a weapon to defend yourself if you come across some freaks whacked out on meth or something. At least use the buddy system lol.

Its probadly something simple... but i cant help but wonder what happened to that dog...
you got big balls lol is that central slip?

Do you get legal permission to go to these places or do you just hope you don't get caught
The answer is yes.
Is it legal to enter these places?

What is the story?

kawaii kittens Do you see mold everywhere?
There's probably mold everywhere
Is this louisiana?
Hi did you ever see anything creepy or like a ghost
It is obvious that someone is living there.
TheWormzerjr *Was living there. Security makes rounds on the property to keep that from happening now.
@15:14 OMG!
I wish the dog could be buried. Sweet thing.
and that poor dog died a slow death of starvation and lack of water
Yes, I felt exactly the same way-poor, poor dog-an awful, lonely way to pass.
You're unfortunately absolutely right-that particular, highly possible scenario had slipped my mind. If such was the case, then I hope what goes around, comes around.
Kittydoc90 my heart broke for the dog

How old was that college?
miah022 110 years, the founder was actually born a slave. It's a pretty prominent college, I wish I could post more information... but you know how that goes.
Yes I do, great find. I actually do know this place but haven't had the time to travel a couple of states over and see it.
