Unfortunately, there are still certain individuals in the entertainment business who still think they can flat-out get away with it, even to this very day. Take Dan Schneider, for instance, a former 70's child born in 1966 who was also the brains behind the EW&DG ripoff Henry Danger on Nickelodeon. Even if both shows do have the same tone, the same look, however, both ladies already knew perfectly well what they were doing and had much more on the ball, Henry Danger just sucks of asinine lunacy 😝😝😝😝
I commented just a couple days ago to someone on FB that to this day, sometimes when I find myself awake early on a Saturday morning, I think to myself, "Oooh, cartoons!" Then I remember the world sucks now and get sad.
@@egggnome6266 So? That's perfectly OK and alright, cartoons, whether it be on TV, DVD, or in the movies, have always been, and still are, a fun, zany form of escapism. There are many times I get bored with the same old crap on TV, be it sitcoms, drama, or the news, I just log onto the UA-cam app off my Xfinity TV, and just choose anyone of my favorites or liked videos at random. But what can I say about the current state of TV today? SUCKS, HAS ABSOLUTELY NO ORIGINALITY (Henry Danger and Spongebob Squarepants included, want absolutely no part of neither one of them. Period.)
@Nobody Special Saturday morning might have been all but dead, but that actually was also a very good year for cartoons and animation, too, as well. As I remember it, there was Kim Possible (Disney Channel, very cool retro-60's style animation), the Wild Thornberrys (Nickelodeon, very quirky and offbeat, super-cool eye candy), Powderpuff Girls and Justice League (PPG: cool blend of Japanese anime and retro-50's and 60's animation while JL had such a sleek, hip production design that you couldn't take your eyes off of). So having said that all that, that year really did bring about an eclectic array of diverse animation styles. Ta, Sa and Chaka were the Pakuni; the older Pakuni were Chaka's siblings. Unusually, especially given the show's non-existent budget, the NBC executives directly ordered the Kroft brothers to hire a Ph.D. linguist out of UCLA to create an actual language for the Pakuni, with a grammar, a syntax and a two hundred word vocabulary. So when the actors spoke Pakuni, they were actually speaking Pakuni. The DVD of the complete first season includes all the information needed to learn the language.

The "Crimescope" computer was an old Air Force AN/FSQ-7 (SAGE) computer from the 1950's. These became poplar as props and were used in Batman, Man From UNCLE, Time Tunnel and many other shows. Absolutely adored Electra Woman and Dyna Girl! I was 11 years old at the time and would go round the house with the remote control rubber-banded to my wrist pretending to be them! Loved the Krofft Supershow as well! Ah, memories..
I love the original series of Electra Woman and Dyna Girl can't replace the original ones. They were born to play as Electra Woman and Dyna Girl just like Dyna Girl would say Electra Wow. Yeah those were the days not anymore today. I love Magic Mangoo, a broken down genie his heart is in the right place but not his mind.

Oh Lordy. H. R. Puffenstuff freaked me out as a kid. What with Freddy the Flute, aka Billy the Bong, it was strange as was Sigmund and the Sea Monsters
My favorite Sid and Marty Kroft show was The Bugaloos, because they could fly. They were also British and had a rock band. In those days those two things made you the coolest thing in the world.
I remember watching this, but for the life of me I can't remember any specific scenes! I didn't realize that was Deidre Hall until your video. Thanks for posting!
Oh yes those were all great shows back in the days I was just talking about that to my grandsons and my son’s wife The other day and don’t forget land of the lost I will never forget the shows would love to see them on TV again but will never forget the memories thanks for posting this they certainly are classics
loved this show. I remember the wrist bands they wore, they could upgrade the wrist bands by plugging in little pegs that looked like the pegs used in the "battleship" game. Each new "peg" gave them a new ability.
Dr Shrinker was a definite favourite. "Shrinkies are shrunken five days a ray." Yah, it's sad, i still remember all the words to the theme song. I had such a crush on Judy Strangis. I never missed an episode of Electrowoman and Dynagirl. I remember watching all the Kroft shows.
You talking about your family’s color tv took me back to the first color tv I ever saw. In 1965 my father was stationed at Ft. Knox Ky. and we had a b&w set. But a kid down the street got a color tv and we all went down to see it delivered. They sent a tech with it who set up a mirror in front of it and then got behind it and hand adjusted the colors! I hope he wasn’t color blind! Then we watched Batman in color, and my life changed. People today take it for granted but man was that moment Ill always remember! Thanks for a great youtube channel!
@ Mark81150 Mark, I have *no doubt* that the reason he (very nearly showed deep emotion) "almost teared up" wasn't just because Cincinnati was losing, It was that it was coupled up with his being so proud of how you had grown into a *man* and had done such a wonderful thing for your family. He knew from then on that in *you* he had left a legacy worth while. Bless you and your yours and thank you for sharing a worth while bit of nostalgia.
We agree! We wrote a theme song in the same spirit, but it has an 80s feel. Check out our episodes at heroineburgh.com, totally influenced by 60s/70s heroines (Batgirl, Catwoman, Isis, EW&DG, Bionic Woman, Wonder Woman) and 80s/90s comics (Teen Titans, X-Men, Image Comics). Dave Sundstrom Not that I would call _bigger_ and _better._ I guess that's for each one of them to decide. 😏 I do believe one of them consistently puts out albums even to this day. Though very short-lived, the real appeal for me was the somewhat _Monkeys-esque_ format.
Electra Woman and Dyna Girl were both very sexy, that's something else they had in common besides them both being super heroines. I have a crush on them
Would have to narrowly give it to Dr. Shrinker! (Not that I didn't LOVE Lost Saucer!) Wasn't there a follow-up series With Dr. Shrinker which incorporated footage from Land of the Lost??? (& had Puff-N-Stuff as a protagonist?)
Thrashpondo Pons: I'm not aware of a "Dr. Shrinker" follow-up series with that close an association with "Land Of The Lost" and "Hr. Pufnstuf." BTW, members of the Osmonds sang the "Dr. Shrinker" theme song (I guess they figured evil doctor shinkray themes don't violate Mormon tenets) and wrote much of the music associated with The Krofft Supershow when they could squeeze in time away from their behind the scenes contributions to the Donny & Marie show.
Wow! Electrowoman and Dynagirl! I remember that show! That would have been about 1975-76, I think. That would have made me 11 or 12. I was reading the list Steve Baer wrote below. I loved the Bugaloos! Dr.Shrinker. Does anyone remember Edmund and the sea monsters? Land of the lost with the Slee -Stacks (SP?), The Pink Panther, The Bugs Bunny Road Runner Hour
cha5 not only is that film really bad but there's a real second tragedy of the same film, the original actors for Land of the Lost was in that movie but we're cut for time and the footage has never been seen in public. Now that's the real tragedy of the movie.
@ cha5 I'm not a Will Ferrell fan but I really don't blame him for *that* debacle. It's not his fault that the "powers that be" decided to take a Kid's sci-fi adventure drama and turn it into a slapstick, toilet humor, dumpster fire of a movie. I wouldn't have minded the movie being "cheesy" if they had not tried to make it a full-blown comedy. It could have been a fun adventure movie and would have had a good deal of potential. As a kid, the Sleestak scared the hell outta me! But I seem to remember at least one other episode where there was something to do with "aliens" and a robot dinosaur named "Charlie". (at least I "think" his name was Charlie) Regardless, the robot dinosaur was *creepy as HELL* ! I'll have to do some research and see if I can find the episode.
Ok round two y'all... Out of the sky, out of time coming to see all that they can find, UFO Fi and Fum they go to the Moon they've been to the Sun, please, please take me along, whaooooo.
I liked the Markie Post pilot (reboot) of E.W. & D.G. It was more of an adult version of the program and I think that is what caused TV Exec's to pass on the show. It scared them, how dare E.W. talk about Wonder Woman's breasts like she did? By the way it was funny.
The world is not as bright without these types of shows anymore. Everything is so dark and gritty these days including superheroes. Kids need something positive and fun. I loved this show as a kid.
For me, it was Land of the Lost. Your experience of one color television in the house is ripped right from my memory. Sundays mornings were even better than Saturdays if you can believe it. On UHF they had 2 episodes of Wild Wild West followed by 2 episodes of Star Trek and then a double feature of Universal Horror. I would watch the monster movies in my room since they were in black & white anyway. I could usually watch them all before my family woke up.
We may have been in different homes in different states but 40 years ago, I was right there with you on Saturday mornings. The alarm would be set and I was prepared to get in 3 - 4 hours of TV before someone else took over. I was going to say "took over the remote" but who am I foolin'? We didn't have a remote until the mid-80s!
Except for me, it was the 70s and beyond. I found Star Trek during the dark years between cancellation and the motion picture. I had seen every episode 3 or 4 times over before TMP. We didn't yet have a video recorder. At least my insomnia was good for something. I'm all for nostalgia, but how did we live without Netflix?
Growing up in the '70s, our favorite TV shows were very special. "The Wizard of Oz" aired once a year, so it was a huge event. "King Kong" aired every Thanksgiving. When VHS became ubiquitous in the '80s, I thought, "Oh, I can watch "The Wizard of Oz" anytime I want!". But, then it wasn't a special event, anymore. I never did rent "The Wizard of Oz".
I loved this video. I was shocked to see this show. I loved it as a kid. The plots were simple and the villains were always over acting, but it added ro the charm of the overall show. It was definitely inspired by the Adam West and Burt Ward 1966-68 Batman series. They were borh campy but pure escapism for kids on a Saturday mornings. I watched the pilot of Electra Woman and Dyna girl with Markie Post. I can understand why the network passed on the show. It was too dark with some elements of the show, but too silly with others. The 2017 web show movie was good but lacks that energy of the original and no Electra car! WHY? COOL VIDEO.
I LOVED Electra Woman and Dyna Girl! My older sister and I used to pretend play that show when I was , I guess 5 years old! I just noticed the "Ew" on her uniform lol. Me too on the Lucky Charms! Who could ever forget Captain Cool and the Kongs?!
Of course Deidre Hall went on to Greater Fame being on Days of Our Lives for over 40 years now I sorta remember this and I remember Judy Strangis I think she was on Room 222..
Hi Dave! Great to see your super detailed and colorful tribute to one of my favorite 70s Saturday morning TV shows, "ElectraWoman and DynaGirl"! Judy Strangis pronounces her last name "Stran-jis," not "Strain-jis." That's according to her own pronunciation of it at a Krofft fan event. Deidre Hall began her "Days Of Our Lives" work during, not after, EW & DG's 1976-1977 season, simultaneously being ElectraWoman. Then of course, most of her time on DOOL was after EW & DG. I think whether or not Judy Strangis achieved the same level of fame as Deidre Hall depends on who you ask and what is considered. For someone who left face acting, Judy still did a remarkable amount of visual as well as voiceover work in her career, as detailed elsewhere. ElectraWoman having a drinking problem in the reboot was Elektra-Dismaying to this fan who tries to keep kind of an innocent fun mentality about shows like this, and I'm sure would not have been a plot detail in the original. My other favorite 70s Saturday morning TV shows included The Jackson Five and Osmonds cartoon shows, "Shazam" and "Isis," other parts of "The Krofft Supershow" including Kaptain Kool and the Kongs (who had two record albums, too), and its revamped sequel "The Krofft Superstar Hour" with the Bay City Rollers (who of course had many albums). Your Kool channel has taught me a lot I did not know about many shows, thank you!
Dude... You seem to have your product knowledge down pretty solid! So, I got a mega obscure question for ya! 1st season of Kapt.Kool had 5 members... In the 2nd season, Turkey was still there, but the other back-up dude was gone??? Any 'behind the scenes' on the matter?
Thrashpondo Pons: Thanks for the compliment and the question! Not obscure to me. That other back up dude from Kaptain Kool and the Kings was Flatbush, played by the late Bert Sommer, ex-The Left Banke member, former solo folksinger and ex-Woodstock performer. Bert Sommer was no longer with the show for the second season due to drug problems and as the producers were wanting to go for a less flashy glam image for the pseudo group anyway, they were less inclined to sweat dropping a member. Have a nice day. :-)
You just made me decide. I'm going to sit at home this Saturday morning with a Lucky Charms cereal breakfast and watch not only Electra Woman And Dyna Girl but other Sid and Marty Krofft shows for a few hours along with some old 70's commercials. Oh those were the days!
Dave Sundstrom yes! Looking forward to them this Saturday morning. Luckily they’re still available at the grocery store. And luckily, we could still watch many of these shows on UA-cam.
The Krofft Super show was a staple of my Saturday morning childhood! Though to be honest "Electro Woman & Dyna Girl" was probably my least favorite on the list. (puberty was still well out of my reach at that time) I liked the opening theme but that was about it. Dr. Shrinker, Wonder Bug and Land of the Lost was more my style. Other favorites were *Lost Saucer* , *Farout Spacenuts* , *Sigmund the Sea monster* , *Shazam* & *Isis* and of course H.R. Puff'n Stuff and Lids Ville. There were other shows too. " Uncle Croc's Block" , "The Groovy Ghoulies", "Valley of the Dinosaurs", "Scooby Doo", Ark II, "Bugs Bunny-Road Runner Show" (never missed that one) , "Tarzan Lord of the Jungle" (another favorite), Jesus, the list goes *ON* ! I even watched "The Smurfs". (that one took some convincing on my brother and sisters part. I was the oldest of the three and had final say over what we watched on T.V. on Saturday mornings and believe you me, *I RULED WITH AN IRON FIST* !!!) I even remember one or two *obscure* shows like "Run Joe Run!" , "Ghost Busters" and "Jason of Star command". About 1:00 in the afternoon and it's time to go play outside. Saturday morning was *made* for cartoons and children's television.
I remember them well. Had a boyhood crush on Dyna-Girl. 😌 It was so “Disco.” Their theme music was memorable. Their gadgets were so bulky it’s laughable. No screens or interfaces. I could swear they are using the same “bat”computer from the 1960s Batman.
Maybe it sounds stupid , but Deidre Hall must've made a deal with the Devil , because she could play Electrawoman today. She looks fantastic. Recently saw photos of Judy Strangis & she's really beautiful now too. Also have to note Frank Heflin , who famously voiced Aquaman on the Superfriends!

Oh Lordy. H. R. Puffenstuff freaked me out as a kid. What with Freddy the Flute, aka Billy the Bong, it was strange as was Sigmund and the Sea Monsters
Sigmund is Cthulhu spawn. (H. R. Lovecraftpuff)
Man, that's a blast from the past. Saturday mornings have never been the same.
It was only one season? I have such great memories of the show, I would have said they were on for a while. I guess they made an impact!
Only one season of new episodes. They did air reruns for a few years after that.
xingcat. There is a movie out
It should have lasted longer!
xingcat Dont feel lost because I, as well, thought the show ran for more seasons. Weird huh?
Mandela effect. I thought it was more than 1 season also.
I remember this. Awesome!
My favorite Sid and Marty Kroft show was The Bugaloos, because they could fly. They were also British and had a rock band. In those days those two things made you the coolest thing in the world.
Land of the lost major crush on Holly I was 6 then
I still remember the theme song. Loved the show.
I remember watching this, but for the life of me I can't remember any specific scenes! I didn't realize that was Deidre Hall until your video. Thanks for posting!
Fun memories for sure! And...you're welcome, Shari T!
Thanks so much I loved Dyna Girl
the 1970s growing up was the best time ever eat my Captain Crunch and watching Saturday morning TV those were the days I miss them
Captain Crunch was a pretty tasty way to start the morning!
Loved this show as a kid!
Man I'm really telling my age but I remember this when I was a kid!
Consider your age to be a badge of honor, my friend.
So they slotted in a flash drive to gain a new superpower app to use?
Wow! Your childhood sounds so much like mine. Lots of good stuff during good times
It was a pretty darn great childhood Henry!
Yeah but now we all have diabetes. LOL.
Dr Shrinker was a definite favourite. "Shrinkies are shrunken five days a ray." Yah, it's sad, i still remember all the words to the theme song. I had such a crush on Judy Strangis. I never missed an episode of Electrowoman and Dynagirl. I remember watching all the Kroft shows.
milo14564 yes they were great tv shows indeed
What a stinker!
Another classic i love it... the reboots were fun too...thank you for sharing
Can I borrow the ElectraCar and take Dyna Girl to a drive-in movie?
How about a double date? I'll take Electra Woman.
Great show. Never forget it.
We didn't have a color tv until the late 70's. I had a personal bw tv I got from a yard sale in 76 and loved the Croft shows.
And within your lifetime we have technology that rivals Dick Tracy!
My dad was stationed at Ft. Knox 74-79, I went to Mudge for school, how about you?
My brother was a D.I. at Knox about that time.
@ Mark81150
Mark, I have *no doubt* that the reason he (very nearly showed deep emotion) "almost teared up" wasn't just because Cincinnati was losing, It was that it was coupled up with his being so proud of how you had grown into a *man* and had done such a wonderful thing for your family.
He knew from then on that in *you* he had left a legacy worth while.
Bless you and your yours and thank you for sharing a worth while bit of nostalgia.
Thank you for helping me remember large chunks of of memories I have lost. I can't thank you enough.
Loved that show...has the camp of the 60s Batman. And the music is still in my head !
" Electra woman and Dyna Giiiirl"!
Super great theme song! Trying to get my musician son to put an acoustic version of it on UA-cam. 🙂
Action, drama, romance and combat in the finest spandex!
Watched it, but did not remember at all until I saw the thumbnail! Thank you, today I smile!
So glad that the "Electra-memories" made you smile! 🙂
Yet another great video of a beloved show from our past! Thank you!
While not a Krofft show, my favorite at the time was *_The Kids from.C.A.P.E.R._*
I only vaguely recall that show. Was there anyone in it that went on to do bigger and better things?
Robert Ridgley did a couple of episodes as a 'Guest Villain'!
Dave Sundstrom Not that I would call _bigger_ and _better._ I guess that's for each one of them to decide. 😏 I do believe one of them consistently puts out albums even to this day. Though very short-lived, the real appeal for me was the somewhat _Monkeys-esque_ format.
I was in the military during the 1970s so missed a lot of good shows.
Electra Woman and Dyna Girl were both very sexy, that's something else they had in common besides them both being super heroines. I have a crush on them
I don’t remember this one! I loved land of the lost!! That was a great show !
Thank you for this video!!!
Watched it religiously when I was 9 years old loved all Sid & Marty Krofft shows👍
I was just old enough to realize "Curves - nice"
Yes I use to sit on the floor of my living room on Saturday mornings loving this show.
Saturday Mornings - don't forget about Big John Little John....!!!!
Holy cow! I almost did forget about that show. Thanks for the reminder!
Loved that show. Big foot & wildboy yes !
My thoughts exactly, Reginald! ua-cam.com/video/ytSn4aATHFE/v-deo.html
I hv Sid&Marty Krofft Land of the Lost DVD... still watch them.... seen them at hastings couple of yrs ago in Odessa and had to buy them...😊
Omg I loved this show as a kid I love this channel could you do a story on The Great Space Coasters
I remember and loved all of Sid and Marty Kroffts shows. My favorite was a tie between Dr. Shrinker and The Lost Saucer with Jim Nabors.
What? There was a cross-over episode? Please tell me more!
Dave Sundstrom,no sir. I meant a tie meaning both were my number 1. Well besides Land of the Lost. LOL
Dave, the Krofft Supershow was initially 90 minutes, with the last half hour being a The Lost Saucer rerun.
I watched this every Saturday morning!
You've found the right channel, Jack! We definitely remember all of those great shows.
You have a very kind voice
Marshall, Will and Holly on a routine expedition meet the greatest earthquake ever known.....
dbnx1701 I’ll never forgive Will Ferill for bastardizing LOTL with that movie of his.
cha5 not only is that film really bad but there's a real second tragedy of the same film, the original actors for Land of the Lost was in that movie but we're cut for time and the footage has never been seen in public. Now that's the real tragedy of the movie.
dbnx1701 ...........in the land of the lost!
@ cha5
I'm not a Will Ferrell fan but I really don't blame him for *that* debacle.
Out of the sky, out of time coming to see all that they can find, UFO Fi and Fum they go to the Moon they've been to the Sun, please, please take me along, whaooooo.
l did the same thing on Saturday mornings but my favorite cereal was Caprain Crunch. Great video, l loved this show when l was 5 years old.
I liked the Markie Post pilot (reboot) of E.W. & D.G. It was more of an adult version of the program and I think that is what caused TV Exec's to pass on the show. It scared them, how dare E.W. talk about Wonder Woman's breasts like she did? By the way it was funny.
There were things I liked and things I didn’t like. I’ve always been a fan of Ms. Post.
The world is not as bright without these types of shows anymore. Everything is so dark and gritty these days including superheroes. Kids need something positive and fun. I loved this show as a kid.
I loved the Kroft Supershow including Electrawoman and Dynagirl
Yeah I remember the original watch it on TV just like everybody else and I enjoyed it.
LOVED this !!! and the reboot of the Lost In Space robot on Mystery Island!!
WHY?
COOL VIDEO.
Dedra Hall is still beautiful!
Yes, she truly is.
Loved this and Bigfoot as a kid
You have a Great Voice Dave for narration very easy to listen to and understand. Thank You for Your AwEsOmE vIdEos
Thank you for the kind words!
Ah,crap....they had View-Master reels of them!? I never knew!
Yes! It was the episode where Holly meets herself as an adult!
"Holly"? There was no one on that show with that name!
@@snarkus63 sorry dude, got my replies mixed up. Don't know how it happened, but I thought I was addressing a land of the lost comment
Aw man. GREAT find! Another little piece of my childhood brought back. Thanks.
O yell I remember watching as a child. I was 12 yrs old . what a time!!
Of course Deidre Hall went on to Greater Fame being on Days of Our Lives for over 40 years now I sorta remember this and I remember Judy Strangis I think she was on Room 222..
she appeared as Marlena Evans in 1976, didn't she? Same year that this aired.
This was my favorite Saturday morning tv show
Anyone remember Wonder Bug?
I remember this show
I Loved it.Takes me back
Thanks Bob. I look forward to your comments because I always learn something new!
Thank you very much, Dave, likewise, have a nice day! :-)
Bob Davis: thanks for the incite! Had gotten portions of the story in blurbs in prior posts... but good to get the full picture! Peace bro!
You just made me decide. I'm going to sit at home this Saturday morning with a Lucky Charms cereal breakfast and watch not only Electra Woman And Dyna Girl but other Sid and Marty Krofft shows for a few hours along with some old 70's commercials. Oh those were the days!
Well...you just named my breakfast cereal of choice! Oh, those magical Lucky Charms!
(puberty was still well out of my reach at that time)
I liked the opening theme but that was about it.
I was the oldest of the three and had final say over what we watched on T.V. on Saturday mornings and believe you me, *I RULED WITH AN IRON FIST* !!!)
I even remember one or two *obscure* shows like "Run Joe Run!" , "Ghost Busters" and "Jason of Star command".
About 1:00 in the afternoon and it's time to go play outside.
Saturday morning was *made* for cartoons and children's television.
The actor playing Frank supplied the voice of Aquaman on Super Friends
I remember them well.
Had a boyhood crush on Dyna-Girl. 😌
It was so “Disco.”
Their theme music was memorable.
Their gadgets were so bulky it’s laughable. No screens or interfaces.
I could swear they are using the same “bat”computer from the 1960s Batman.
They were Awesome, and they were my favorite, and yes I remembered that show
Maybe it sounds stupid , but Deidre Hall must've made a deal with the Devil , because she could play Electrawoman today. She looks fantastic. Recently saw photos of Judy Strangis & she's really beautiful now too. Also have to note Frank Heflin , who famously voiced Aquaman on the Superfriends!
Whoa! I did not know that Frank Heflin was the voice of Aquaman on Superfriends. Nice add!
I remember this all 76?
Everybody Sing it with me: "Electra Woman and Dyna Girllllllllllllllll........"
I think you're off key.
I watched this show the same way you did... The theme song was dope!
