I hope they keep that aspect of him. I'm glad people in this show doubt him as he doesn't have any powers and he's basically the batman of The Boys minus the dark and brooding aesthetic (Black Noir).

He uses an "iron man" style of high tech armour loaded with gadgets to make up for not actually being super human, but beyond that he's Batman with everything else. He even has a Robin style teen side kick, and a version of Nightwing who was the first sidekick until he got too old.

Compound V is said to make people sterile as well. But clearly there are exceptions, homelander already being one. And homelander too has similar powers to his dad and some more (perhaps from his supe mom)
The rule seems to be children of supes have the same or similar powers to their parents, like Homelander/Ryan, Translucent/Maverick, and Polarity/Andre. I assume Translucent and Polarity were in the half of supes who knew of Compound V and opted to have their children made into supes, awakening the power passed down in their DNA. What makes Ryan special is he didn't need V to grow into a supe.

I felt it made sense. He knows she can get him to stop prying with just her touch or whatever else she wants. So he set a boundary. All the big Supes are harsh, Homelander was ready to kill starlight the moment he saw her raise in hands, even tho she was doing it out of shock/ suprise of Hughie being a spy of sorts.

His power basically is being able to detect lies through enhanced senses. Sage's power is her intelligence. Tek Knight is exactly like a mind reader, but better. Mind Readers require you to maintain physical touch, and Cate using her powers takes a toll on their body, Mind reader's powers also seem to be limited to their extremities. Most mind readers also seem to have mind reading only, not heightened senses. Tek Knight however, does not need to touch people to use his powers. His eye sight is also way better then mind readers, as well as his smell, as shown in this video. Tek Knight is exactly like a mind reader, but better.
