I have a few skar subs in my home,2-15s on just 300w they rumble good. Nice video,I am a 66 year old ex installer. My only concerns are pinch points and the routing of your wire. Lots of power on a cable this size,I use circuit breakers instead of fuses, but kits come with those cheap fuses. Using a 150a breaker gives you the option of flipping a switch to kill the power,I use them right at the battery, not a foot later. Dont be afraid to use that bass boost to eq the response in a sealed box.Skar amps are bullet proof.
Little bigger system here, we never ever use babss boost...but i have nonclue what it does on sealed boxes.. 2-SundownAudio x15's 3-Agm batteries 320 iraggi alternator
@@iChubbs_81 In a sealed system you can eq the bottom end,but it draws power and you need lots of xmax.Great to use smaller than recommended enclosures.
Skar has pretty good stuff. I replaced an old Polk audio 12 in my house with a skar it sounds pretty good. My Pic is my tundra. 8 vvx8d2 on 2 taramps 5k. 3 evl15d2 on a taramps hd10k. Got 4 skar pro audio 6.5 and 4 skar super tweets on 2 old kicker 400.4. I also have 8 skar zvx8 d2 on 2 marts 8k in my yaris with 2 DC audiolvl315d2 on top with 2 taramps hd3k with 4 skar pro audio 6.5 and 4 skar super tweets on 2 taramps 1200.4.
Ignore any comments from people who complain about you not giving a sound demo, I’ve been into audio for several years I’d say atleast 13-14 years now and I understand the importance of breaking in subwoofers, throwing a subwoofer fresh out the box at normal listening volume which mind you can be different for everyone but especially a bass heads normal listening volume can cause potential damage to occur it’s better to let everything break in so you’re not ripping a spider low and slow is the way to go!
I am a Skar User.... Never been more happier with the equipment I have the big 3 1/0 power and grounding OFC - LC2i pro - 2 sdr 12 with the prebaf box wired to 1 ohm - RP1500.1 D amp..... I metered at 100db @ 34 Hz..... Not bad for 700 bucks.... Next.... MBE box....
All Skar in my 2015 Silverado crewcab. Added a custom center console box also I got on Amazon. One 12" 3000w and two 12" 1000w under back seat. Amps mounted behind seat. Two 6x9, two 6.5, two 6.5 composite, Four tweeters and four super tweeters.
Just purchased the 12vd shallow mount subs and box which will be hooked up to a down for sound salt 1700.5 also got all door speakers and tweeters. Can’t wait to hear them.. so how did your buddys sound after break in?
I just went wild upgrading my audio in my 2015 crew cab. Anything specific I might beable to help. I'm no expert but I did everything myself and learned alot along the way lol.
2 months post video… how does it sound? What is your review? I’m currently running a single Kicker LT7 10 inch paired with a a kicker 600.1 amp. Thinking of moving towards this set up with the 2 12” subs. I’m wondering if it’s worth the upgrade.
Got two 12s for my ram getting them installed tuesday with the same amp cant wait im only getting it tuned once so can i do a normal tune with bass knob at half or low and same with stereo volume
I'm not a skar fan by any means and have only owned a pair of 15s sdr but I cringe when guys say skar is a good for starters. I have owned just about every brand there is since the early 90s and Skar sounds and performs as good or better than other brands that are more expensive. I'm currently in the market for four 15s and I'm looking at skar, rockville, dayton audio.
Hello fellas i just want to share this out there skar audio is a good brand but if you are purchasing anything from their sdr bass pakage to their elv and up subs they will supply wiring kit with their combo bass pakage the only problem is is that the wiring kit sucks period you want to upgrade that and the speaker wire for the subs to amp make sure to purchase kicker comp q 12 -10 g speaker wire look it up online 30 50 bucks for it but you have to take the sub out and change that factory speaker wire and install the kicker one or even fosgate speaker wire wil do it is a plus doing this thats if you get it loaded enclosure and like i said upgrade to a better brand for the power and ground wires rcas will be okay just minor upgrades on the wiring kit other than that you are good to go it makes a difference
Idk why they call that a shallow mount considering it’s not that thin especially compared to the shallow mount subwoofers they have that look like true shallow mounts I feel like that’s pretty much a regular sized subwoofers given they need the space for the magnets as to me a shallow mount shouldn’t need extra room for the magnets but that design would allow for more excursion compared to their other shallow mount subwoofers skar needs to put out a under the seat ported enclosure and they can’t say it’s not possible because it is especially with a company that has the tools and abilities they have but I guess a down firing subwoofer enclosure does act like a pseudo port!
Skar is the best stuff on the planet. It's top of the line. There's nothing better Especially for the money. Even though there's 3 other audio companies that offer the exact same thing for cheaper. Skar rules everything else Is terrible,,, Is that it guys? Do I sound like a skar guy now?
Not even in the same price planet. You can put a decent full system together for the price of a SINGLE 13w7 without enclosure and even then, good luck fitting a Pro Wedge in any vehicle other than an SUV. Ask me how I know.
You clearly didn’t watch all 10 minutes. The owner is breaking in the equipment so we can do a full demo after I find music I won’t get copyright claimed for
You wouldn’t be able to tell how they sound through a video as a phone or camera microphone wouldn’t be able to accurately reproduce what’s being heard in person and often times the spl coming from the subwoofers will distort the mic anyways, the only way to judge a system is by listening to it in person also if you had a clue on subwoofers there’s a break in period before you can start listening to them like you normally would, breaking in a subwoofer is crucial to longevity of the subwoofers as when they’re brand new everything is stiff and the break in period helps wear away any extra glue and loosens everything up allowing them to play at their full potential!

That's a normal, typical engine bay on a daily driven vehicle. Why would you expect anything different?
