  • You have seen my designs of Whitetail Hub Style Bedding Areas, but what does it take to meet the requirements of a Whitetails intake during their bedding cycle. A Whitetail Deer of any age feeds 4 to 5 times during a 24 hour period. Feedings 1-2 being internal of their bedding area. 85 to 90 Percentage of a Deers intake is in the form of Woody Browse. What if there isnt enough browse in those areas to meet their requirements? The answers is, they will find a better suited bedding area!
Here is a Inside Look at how a Corridor is created and the size and shape that is best used to create these areas. A Corridor internal of a bedding area is best if it is more of a natural size then a Transition area. These Corridors should be 5 to 8 ft wide, no larger then 10ft on larger Parcels. This size is best to maintain a secluded private setting inside of a bedding area. When a Corridor becomes a Transition Area on its way to a destination feed location, that area can and should be wider 10 to 15 yrds wide but still maintaining a thick density to still allow for a safe setting or feeling. This will insure you promote Daylight Movement!
Here is a look into the Corridors and the Browse it takes to create a High Powered Whitetail Bedding Area!
