Rahul is a great artist but sadly lacks the grasp and instinctive nuance of ghazal singing. Music in a ghazal has a concomitant role - both the musical flow and the melody has to support the content which is the emotion and purpose of the ghazal. The musical virtuosity at no point should overshadow the "dard" or the emotion sought to be conveyed. That will be a distraction. Also the pauses, differential stresses on various words and sentences convey distinctive feelings which both the singer and the audience share and enjoy. The distance between the singer and the audience is lesser than in a classical concert. PRIYANKA on the other hand is incredibly talented, empathetic and utterly emotional in her rendering. Btw she is thoroughly versatile in all genres she attempts. She is the most under rated of artistes in the young Gen now. Wish the accompanist had not tried to monopolize the performance . Ghazal is a singer's medium not that of the accompanist.
He doesn't know the essence of gazal. Gazal is very diluted classical form. It reqiuires a different approach.

Replying in English as it is easy to type. Except for one or two, all his songs were Marathi, just some narration in English as there were many non Marathi speaking people in the audience. Good to know that Rahul has a fan base outside Marathi too.
Music has no language though and spreading your culture in any language is not a bad thing be it either hindi,english or marathi :)
Wish Priyanka would sing more, and Rahul less !!
My dear Why you are wasting your precious time by singing with such people who pays more attention to how they look than how they sing.
The female vocalist is out of tune while singing the ghazal. Especially when she is singing the Taans, she is off note
