    Overall, an informative video but could have been MUCH shorter and just as informative. If you're wondering how the math in this timeline works out (2 jobs at $396 each) works out to $1000 a day, fast forward to around 9:15 in this video. He goes on and on way too long about the job where he unplugged the woman's wine fridge and how that turned out. He could have gotten that point across in 30-45 seconds, as opposed to the several minutes it actually took. He FINALLY...FINALLY gets around to explaining what those ancillary inspections entail at the very end.

      Ancillary inspections is where you can increase gross revenue. It's the best way to make more money. There are 9 ways to make more money as a home inspector, and they are at ua-cam.com/video/a43yKo4Nr7w/v-deo.htmlsi=aNn_uLGuI96QZuUH

    I don't see how it's possible to complete a report in the field even if were Speedy Gonzalez. I have to download photos from my GoPro (roof inspections) as well as from my thermal camera. At that point I review all the photos to see which ones to use and which ones to discard and then upload to my reporting software. Maybe one day if I get a work van with a desk this would allow for this.

    I respectfully don’t agree with showing up early unless you’re implying you show up early and then maybe a few minutes before the promised arrival time you then knock on the door, that makes sense. If you showed up at my house 30 minutes early I’d be pissed off at you because I’m not ready for your arrival. Now if you knocked on my door five minutes prior to your anticipated start time I would be impressed. I totally respect the accountability aspect and professionalism your explaining.

    It's nuts when buyers are so desperate for inventory they waive inspections.
    Why throw half a million into a house, but not spend $500 for due diligence?
    That is a lot to ask a buyer. And headaches happen (for everyone) if the unexpected happens?
    There is a reason people use inspectors.

    Appreciate your videos, Ben. I have a question. How did you do your wdo inspection? At the same time as the home inspection? Or afterwards? I’ve dealt with inspectors who do both, but always made mistakes on the wdo because it was more of an afterthought for them. Thanks!

    • @internachi
      @internachi  4 роки тому +3

      Both! Here are some good WDO resources at www.nachi.org/wdo-report.htm. Use "While I'm Here..." while performing a home inspection and your client could potentially be interested in your ancillary inspection service (which they're possibly not aware of). Inform them. "While I'm here, I can look for anything that eats or destroys wood, and write a report that may recommend a treatment, prior to you purchasing the house. Would you be interested in that?"

      ASHI is considered the Gold standard. To become ASHI Certified You must have completed 250 paid inspections and pass the National Home Inspection Test which is a proctored 200 question 4 hour test. NACHI is as simple as passing a 120 question 2 hour timed test that is open book (online) and pay them $49 a month forever.
