I think the top is the output to you rig and the input coed should be into the bottom.

No, but usually black would be line 1 and red line 2.
Did you wire it in before or after the transfer switch?
I wired it in before the switch!

Does anyone know if the app is accurate on amp readings?
Yes its very accurate. I confirmed with a fieldpeice amp meter.
I have one of the 50 AMP H and doesn't work very good and called customer service 5 times and so far mothing so I think customer service sucks
