Thanks to UA-cam, a lot more five-year-olds are asking to see my graphical scores these days. Children are my primary intended audience, so for me, this is wonderful.
What I love about Classical music is that it will always be performed and sound good. You can't have someone perform a Beatles song and have sound like it used to, but the spirit of classical music lives on!
Tom O'Keefe Yea, I was born in classical music and its my favorite genre for music. This is the real deal!! I play Piano for 8 years and violin for about 4.
My parents would play Mozart for me over and over again when I was a baby on car trips, and I never got tired of his masterpieces. This was my favorite piece by him. I'll have to see if I can find a new favorite as I go through his entire works.
Remarkable visual aid for those of us that are not so fluent in reading the full musical score. It pulled me into the details of this beautiful music even more than just listening does. Thanks for the treat.
Smalin, by far this is one of my favorite channels. Thank your for your contribution to youtube! I can always rely on this channel for wonderful music. :D
Me and my "Kotkalaiset+Ilona"- band system (my friends) have in last summer little consert and I have a great idea for it and we played this song there... It was so fun to do like 3. Violin because my friend was so bad at playing it... It was truly amazing and fun!!! ❤️♥️😍🎻 Loving this song!!!!!!
Stephen, you did it again. Your videos help me “hear“ the music better. I just learned today that Eine kleine Nachtmusik was written for quartets. I had no idea. I always thought it was a huge group of instruments. I specifically watched the cello part. Hope to play it some day. Thanks again!
I love the making of this clip. It make the classic piece easier to see and play. Mozart was a genius, if there is something for the piece K41 too that would be nice! Great work dude!
When I was a kid my parents brought me to Europe and we visited Mozart's home town. On the plane they were playing this over and over. I kept thinking the recording was broken cause I couldn't tell when it begins or ends. But I memorized the song and I was humming it in Mozart's home town and the old men sitting in the park were amused :)
Saaaaaame! Especially if I’m stressed! @NIKTRIS that’s not true... do you like music AT ALL? All music has roots that come from classical music. And, why would you listen to this if your sad.
Great! I'm currently trying to better learn my part (viola part) which is sometimes hard to decode in some recordings of this song. The colored bars really help me follow along with my part better and help me relate it to my own sheet music! Thanks! Thumbs up!
I was so happy that I could play this on the piano. After watching this it turns out it's not only way more complicated than I thought, but also 5 times longer :(
I've done remakes for many reasons. UA-cam has increased the resolution of the videos they support, so I remade several videos to take advantage of the improved quality. Some pieces I used poor quality recordings (often my own renditions) and replaced them with better performances later. Some pieces I wanted to try something different in the visualization, and made alternate versions. Sometimes, there was an embarrassing typo in the titles, and I just had to fix it. Etc.
It was a recording licensed under a Creative Commons license that allowed me to use it, but UA-cam didn't agree, and wouldn't explain why, so after asking over and over, I just gave up and paid for a license to this recording.
My grandson is six and already loves Mozart. But have you done Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever?" I would love to have him see and hear that... and to teach him the lyrics, "Be kind to your web footed friends, for a duck may be somebody's mother..." Thanks, Ray van Leeuwen
Raymond Van Leeuwen Yes, I've done a video of "The Stars and Stripes Forever." But maybe you can help me understand something. Viewers occasionally ask me "have you made a video of _______?" and I wonder why they ask me instead of just searching for the name of the piece plus "smalin" ... it seems like that would be much easier (and faster) than asking me and waiting for a reply.
Sorry, I don't like Wagner. However, I may be collaborating with a German video director to make an iPad/iPhone/iPod app based on Wagner's music. If I do, the app will probably be available in May. If that happens, I'll probably announce it on my UA-cam channel, so if you want to be notified, you might want to subscribe to my channel.
By hand. If you want to understand the process in more detail, go to my web site, go to the index page, look for "Production Notes" and follow that to "Synchronization of Animation and Audio."
I may be wrong, I've only played this in quartet form without the bass so maybe it's different. I play the viola in the quartet and I was looking for my orange represent haha. Maybe it's different
In German, "nacht Musik" means "night music," but "Nachtmusik" is its own word, which means something more like "serenade." The title is often translated "night music" but that would be like saying that the German word "Flugzeug" means "flying stuff" instead of "airplane."
1788,que tiempos aquellos de mozart cuando en el verano,el joven hacia sus mejores obras entre ellas esta la famosa eune kleine nachtmusik ,muy contemporanea de la sinfonia 40, del mismo autor,Mozart.
So I'm working on a cover of this song and I'm using this to help me out. I'm guessing the colors are as follows; top 2 (orange) = both violins 1 & 2 3rd from top (brownish) = viola 4th from top (puke green) = cello 5th from bottom (green) = double bass. Correct? Also do the notes have certain places on the grid based the note being played? I'm programming these with Kontakt player and an Aria Sounds symphonic strings library so I'm wondering if I could use the note spacing as a reference while I plug this into my midi grid.
Wow. This song was really well done.. Who performed it? I'm also doing a piece of this music for an audition, and I have no confidence now that I've listened to it being played... Sigh. Guess I'll just have to practice... A LOT!
Ka Boom Mozart wrote symphonies and operas (masterpieces) before he hit puberty, while Bieber writes brain-dead pop songs (before he hit puberty). Justin Bieber is NO where near the league of Mozart :P
ahh the fine sounds of classic music calms my nerves...to bad im not in school and its summer or i would be playing my baritone (horn) all day! (im 12)
That really does sound like the arranged version our band got. We are grade 2.5 right now about to be 3. The arranged does sound like this, the real version.
+Alexander Luo Musical grade. The higher the grade the harder the music. In school I am in 8th grade but in music I am grade 2.5. It is the measure of how complicated music is if I have not made that clear yet.
Great point dude!
This stuff is the original great music!
I live for classical music, I play violin, viola and bass
i have to disagree, not all performances of classical music sound good
Tom O'Keefe Yea, I was born in classical music and its my favorite genre for music. This is the real deal!! I play Piano for 8 years and violin for about 4.
Night music works in the day too.
I tried playing it during the day and it just didn't sound right
My parents would play Mozart for me over and over again when I was a baby on car trips, and I never got tired of his masterpieces.
This was my favorite piece by him. I'll have to see if I can find a new favorite as I go through his entire works.
***** Not necessarily. I mean I wouldn't put "musical appreciation" at the top of my list of what makes a good parent.
Alec Eisenbison Piano Concerto 21 in F Major. Andante. You've probably heard it before though.
CowLunch then make it classy parents
Alec Eisenbison Requiem Mass is a bit overused, but that hardly detracts from the piece, although I get a real hard-on for Symphony 40.
I like how this video graphically visualizes symphonic structure for us. Keep up the good work.
Remarkable visual aid for those of us that are not so fluent in reading the full musical score. It pulled me into the details of this beautiful music even more than just listening does. Thanks for the treat.
You're very welcome. I'm delighted to hear that this is helping you appreciate the music more.
0:00-5:41 is the best part
Lol
It's possibly the best music ever composed. Probably some muso snob will jump on me saying it's too simple blah blah blah
Smalin, by far this is one of my favorite channels. Thank your for your contribution to youtube! I can always rely on this channel for wonderful music. :D
the video is a great idea; gives a great visual focus for the music/ some sense of it s complexity/ interweaving parts/ & what s going on
Really good. Thanks for recommending this UA-cam. Mozart is one of my favorite classical musical writers.
ua-cam.com/play/PLtj_HurkS7ZyEozONg9RDlhdD6c76Mxrc.html
Same here. This is one of my favorite pieces he composed
The mellow tune is beautiful and the animation that shows the tunes r beautiful
Me and my "Kotkalaiset+Ilona"- band system (my friends) have in last summer little consert and I have a great idea for it and we played this song there... It was so fun to do like 3. Violin because my friend was so bad at playing it... It was truly amazing and fun!!! ❤️♥️😍🎻 Loving this song!!!!!!
Wonderful. Children are my primary intended audience, so this is great to hear.
one of my favourite pieces. and the colour coding for the violins, violas and cellos is just brilliant!
makes me so happy
I have used this in music classroom....the kids are always amazed! Thank you for your awesome creativity and sharing!! A huge fan!
Stephen, you did it again. Your videos help me “hear“ the music better. I just learned today that Eine kleine Nachtmusik was written for quartets. I had no idea. I always thought it was a huge group of instruments. I specifically watched the cello part. Hope to play it some day. Thanks again!
Be sure to check out the more recent animations of this piece I’ve made.
Yes I did. UA-cam was giving me flak, and rather than fight them, I decided to just remove it.
The epitome of everything positive.
Bravo
Thanks for posting this vid.
Wow this is really neat! The graphic score I mean. And the song, lol.
ich liebe Mozart. Ich liebe er Musik und Eine kleine nachtmusik ist ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Alexandra Lindell Seinen Musik ist Wunderschön
I love the making of this clip. It make the classic piece easier to see and play. Mozart was a genius, if there is something for the piece K41 too that would be nice! Great work dude!
This is definitely one of my most favorite pieces of all time!
Just love❤
I watched this because my vocal teacher showed this in class and it was amazing
hate your pic
I finally found this song, took me a year, but who cares
When I was a kid my parents brought me to Europe and we visited Mozart's home town. On the plane they were playing this over and over. I kept thinking the recording was broken cause I couldn't tell when it begins or ends. aah excellent. Heart Breaking
When I get angry i listen to this music
you are a prodigy mozart
Realy, that's just sad. You whould listen to this garbage when you'r sad
Saaaaaame! Especially if I’m stressed! @NIKTRIS that’s not true... do you like music AT ALL? All music has roots that come from classical music. And, why would you listen to this if your sad.
Is this easy to remember or what
@@maeganglarborg5008 i love this music. also i have memorized the tone as i listen to this music many times due to its dromantic melody
Great! I'm currently trying to better learn my part (viola part) which is sometimes hard to decode in some recordings of this song. The colored bars really help me follow along with my part better and help me relate it to my own sheet music! Thanks! Thumbs up!
I'm a violin I player :} Well I play it, I'm not actually part of an orchestra that plays this piece :)
I was so happy that I could play this on the piano. After watching this it turns out it's not only way more complicated than I thought, but also 5 times longer :(
this is neat seeing all the triads at work
"Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (1st movement)" in G Major. Am I right? Also that's one of my favorites.
I've done remakes for many reasons. UA-cam has increased the resolution of the videos they support, so I remade several videos to take advantage of the improved quality. thank you for this song
Just amazing. Thank you.

It is software I wrote; you can learn about the project on my web site.
thank you so much this helped me with my music homework to interpret a song and make a graphic notation version
wonderful!

This tune is also used in one of Total Drama World Tour's tone music's Eine Kleine. Same name.
I think you captured the allegro nature of the piece very well.

I LOVE THIS PIECE A LOT IT IS MY FAVORITE
Me too
EXCELLENT !!!!!!!
It suits me well. You will get use to it over time! :)
I'm sad that I can't play any instruments, so the most I can is hum or whistle this piece
that's all that matters dude.
John Flores never say never
love it
No, but you can get MIDI for this at Classical Music Archives.
Esta pieza musical siempre me pone de mejor ánimo :)
there are parts where you have second violin playing when is actually the viola but it's okay this is still so cool to watch:)
+Katie Hedrick Are you sure?
I may be wrong, I've only played this in quartet form without the bass so maybe it's different. I play the viola in the quartet and I was looking for my orange represent haha. Maybe it's different
+Katie Hedrick Can you tell me a place (mm:ss in the video) where you think it's wrong? I can get the score from IMSLP and check it.
best song ever of any of the great classic artists in my opinion
in memory of Mozart
BRAVO!!!! :)
You should put these graphics onto shirts. I think they might make for some cool designs.
If you'd like to do that, feel free.
Wonderful piece. Have you ever heard pieces from Stephen Sondheim's operetta named after this? I'm just curious.
this is awesome.
awesome
Wonderful
everytime I listen to this, I want to eat spaghetti
Lol same idk why it triggers something
I like this newer version, the score is faster and it matches the joyful, lively spirit of the music
LOVE LOVE LOVE
wunderbar.
I just love how it's highly repetitive but just doesn't seem it or Mozart understood earworms with subtle variations could bear repetition
It the title in English is a little night music
In German, "nacht Musik" means "night music," but "Nachtmusik" is its own word, which means something more like "serenade." The title is often translated "night music" but that would be like saying that the German word "Flugzeug" means "flying stuff" instead of "airplane."
+smalin oh
1788,que tiempos aquellos de mozart cuando en el verano,el joven hacia sus mejores obras entre ellas esta la famosa eune kleine nachtmusik ,muy contemporanea de la sinfonia 40, del mismo autor,Mozart.

Why don't you just get a MIDI file of the piece?
Dude I had no idea that was even a thing, and just found it after a very easy search. You just saved me so much time man, thanks!
Where can I find the best midi files?
just visit imslp
Wow. This song was really well done.. Who performed it? I'm also doing a piece of this music for an audition, and I have no confidence now that I've listened to it being played... Sigh. Guess I'll just have to practice... A LOT!
Loved it
Me encanta esta melodía , un bravo por mozart
guitar hero for classical music! me like!
Mozy understood the assignment
As Mozart would say gute Arbeit!
Gracias :)
Can you do this for like a Justin Bieber song since he like Mozart of tdoay?
Justin bieber
Ka Boom Mozart wrote symphonies and operas (masterpieces) before he hit puberty, while Bieber writes brain-dead pop songs (before he hit puberty). Justin Bieber is NO where near the league of Mozart :P
How about no
Ka Boom dude you are awesome. I needed to laugh, thank you sir.
+Ka Boom You forgot to add /sarc at the end, haha
Still remarkable composition 100's of years after the original was penned. 😊
What’s the app called
www.musanim.com/HowTo/
perfect
Thanks
this great
It's so easy to remember
thanks : )
ahh the fine sounds of classic music calms my nerves...to bad im not in school and its summer or i would be playing my baritone (horn) all day! (im 12)
No. But UA-cam was giving me trouble over it, and I gave up.
Okay, thanks!
Mükemmel
I love your visualization! How did you get it synchronized so well to the recording?
I don't know. They wouldn't explain it to me.
That really does sound like the arranged version our band got. We are grade 2.5 right now about to be 3. The arranged does sound like this, the real version.
How can you be grade 2.5
+Alexander Luo Musical grade. The higher the grade the harder the music. In school I am in 8th grade but in music I am grade 2.5. It is the measure of how complicated music is if I have not made that clear yet.
+daniel gunner ok thanks
+ThePieguy321's channel He said it was arranged for band.
am I the only one to see a cat in the music at 0:36 😂 I swear the orange looks like a cat
Yeah it is
It is software I wrote myself.
Its really easy to remember
Isn't it the theme of the Mario Bros. arcade game?
no, they chose this for the theme. there's no way a composer would write a song like this for a video game.
+isaac davanzo especially a composer more than 200 years gone
I like dubstep alot more but I like a few mozart art pieces.
Like I will ever giveup from listening more mozart art pieces! Holy shit!
I am starting to play the song on piano
I know part of ,it's easy and then gets harder and harder
How did you make the graphics?
PsyRaf I wrote software to do it.
this is hi best piece(obviously opinion) im in 5th grade elementery school and playing it.
\
Mozart fue/es impresionante!
