    Thanks Rob. Very helpful. I read in your comments that people were having a difficult time finding a foot pedal that did not always trigger the camera. I got a Yamaha foot pedal that when connected would automatic trigger the camera. The camera would stop shooting if you pressed with on the pedal. I then bought a M-Audio SP-1 | Universal Sustain Pedal and had the same issue. I finally got a ProLine Universal Metal Sustain Pedal with a Polarity Switch. That one did the trick. The pedal has a switch that changes the direction of the pedal. That cost @$14 US and works well. Thanks again

    Thank you so much for this Rob. I have just taken delivery of the Alesis pedal plus the converter cable for my PW IIIe to Sony USB cable and it works like a dream. Should save me slaving it off the A6600s and big lens as I shoot far more on those than I need for a goalcam.
    Haven't been able to test it on location as everything I was up for this weekend due to covid so can't wait for next weekend.
    Just need to design a collapsible weatherproof housing for the A6000s and I'm sorted.
    Fantastic idea and so easy to make. BIG BIG THANKS!!!

    Just had the foot pedal come and managed to set up, the pedal on the link is not what Rob demos, just a note, when i set up and hit the pedal the camera continued to fire once it was tapped and when released it continued to fire, I found a little switch on the base , moved it to the right and now all works spot on. Now need to find some football this weekend to try it out

    Hi, Rob. Thanks for this idea. I finally got around to picking up a sustain pedal (a Yamaha I saw on sale via Amazon) and I'm seeing a strange behavior: it triggers the PW unless you step on the pedal. I thought this was because I had a stereo 1/4" to 1/8" adapter, so I ordered a mono adapter and I'm still seeing the same thing. Guess I am sending this pedal back and shelling out for the MIDI one!

    • @RobSambles

    • @fredzwicky8363
      @fredzwicky8363 9 місяців тому

      It's a polarity issue. Yamaha pedals are the reverse polarity of Korg and other brands. Generally, a generic foot pedal will be the proper polarity @@RobSambles

    There were a couple people asking about using this setup with a Yongnuo RF603 triggers. I tried this type of setup last year with those and I could not get it to work. The cable adapters may have been an issue with trying to get from a 1/4in to 2.5mm jack. I instead went direct wire from the foot pedal to camera, which was fine for my needs (dance triggering a wide angle with a telephoto in hand). If you find a setup that works with the RF603's, I would sure like to see how you do it.

      I have tried with my Yongnuo RF605 triggers, and can't get it to work. They work great if I just use them to trigger one camera from another, but I can't get the foot pedal to work. I am wondering if the 2.5mm port on the RF605 is only for outgoing signal, and doesn't read an incoming signal.

    Great Video Rob Do You think this will definitely work with the Yongnuo RF-603C II Triggers Initially before I upgrade to Pocket Wizards Plus 3 and with the range of both sets of triggers can you say if they would work while sitting behind one goal and having the Remote position behind the other goal ?

    • @RobSambles
      @RobSambles  4 роки тому

      It depends on the venue but generally the range should be fine yes. I haven't tried it with 603s yet but I will

    • @mrgee8813

      Would think the only difference for the Yongnuo Trigger would be that you would need a Headphone Adapter 2.5mm and not 3.5mm as You used ? Also Do you use any specific Rain Covers for the Remote ? or can You recommend any looked at the Op/Tech Rainsleeve Flash but think it will be too big with a smaller lens and Would the Foot Peddle be waterproof in anyway ?
