I cannot wait until you write a book. I follow only two other “vlog” type accounts (sailing la vagabond and a woman named Cecilia in Svalbard) - while beautiful and incredible, there’s something so special about the type of travel you do. This work is important. I hope you see that. These countries are fascinating and full of real people, and the majority of the world misses out on this and just sees “RUSSIA BAD CHINA BAD BLAH BLAH” (I am obviously American) and that’s just not the reality!
Anyway, you’re amazing and nine years your senior makes me wish I put myself out there more while in my 20s!

Transnistria is beautiful. Did you see the beautiful Harry Potter statue in Tiraspol? Your western banks cards don't work in Transnistria but you can send money to yourself easily in seconds with Moneygram or just bring cash with you. Euros or Moldovan Lei is best. Banks work 7 days a week in Tiraspol which is amazing. There's many nice cafes and restaurants. In Bender the castle has a wonderful restaurant with live music at the weekends. In between all the modern cafes and restaurants you have some Soviet relics and a few old school canteens. My favourite old scool canteen is in Bender next to all the marshrutka's. Its actually seems cleaner in Tiraspol than in Chisinau :))
It is really odd the big brand Italian shop opened there. The Manager probably knew someone from pridniestrovye.

Mistake to give her the money. Your video was full of hustlers, maybe thats why so many journalists didnt visit. Massive respect for showing us what what we want to see, while the media continues to think we are not interested and doensnt want us to be interested in this. Nice story, good storytelling! No Houses of culture in Italy? In France, in popular left-leaning neighboorhoods, there are MJCs, Houses of Youth and Culture, which are the equivalent of the Soviet Domovy Kulture. It is meant to replace the church as the meeting place of the neighboorhood. I don't know exactly who inspired who. Must stem from Leninist ideology.
