Frieren learned in this episode that expiriencing the sun rise only became special to her when she saw the happiness in ferns face, basically sharing things and expiriencing with people that you care about makes those moment feels more especially , makes you enjoy life more
The first 4 episodes made Frieren realize that that "mere 10 year adventure" changed her life so much and when she said it to fern and eisen the second time, she meant it's another 10 year adventure that will change her life again. This episode right here made me feel Frieren will be one of those classics that after rewatches will make it even more beautiful
It occurred to me that the reason why Frieren ultimately understood why that sunrise was so beautiful -- because she could see how happy it made Fern -- is like the reason why we enjoy watching reaction series like yours. Because we enjoy seeing people become happy when watching a jewel that also touched our hearts. Aren't people a funny thing? Sometimes they make me smile, and sometimes they make me cry.🙂
I started watching this anime because of you guys and ended up binging it in about a week and it's great. You guys might want to buy some more tissues. Yes, in this Universe Dwarves live for about 300-400 years, which is why they can joke about "it's only been 30 years". Elves actual lifespan is unknown but it's safe to guess over 1000 years.
When this was first released, they released the first four episodes at once to give everybody something to latch onto. In other words, you have just finished the prologue. As intense as what you've seen is, the rest will just take you on such a beautiful journey. I can't wait to watch you watching it!
This show found something incredibly special with the way it incorporates flashbacks. In a lot of shows when we get a flashback we know it's going to show us something important, but there's usually this slight pang of "ugh I want to see how that scene resolved, not this flashback right now." but for some reason every time a flashback shows up in Frieren everyone always gets excited. I love it.
Throughout the story the real age of frieren is always kept as a big mystery but we know she is at the very least a lot older than 1000, She doesn't look like it but she is very ancient, which makes her more badass and increases the aura arround her and her presence.
@@MichaelRBrown-lh6kn SPOILER - - - - - - She is likely considerably older than 1000. The 1/100th is just a rounding thing, they're not gonna say 1/134th for example xD You can see it in the amount of aura she has when she meets Flamme. She has a fuckton of aura already. Not as much as Flamme (but each person progression is different so you can really only compare them to themselves) but still a lot. If you compare the amount from when she meets Flamme to what she acquired in the next 1000 years, it's likely she was already a couple of hundred years old already. There are other indications, like how she tells Flamme "it was only 50 years ago", if she was very young, she wouldn't have said that because 50 years would have been a lot for her at the time. That means, once again, that she was already several times 50 years old at the time for this sentence to make sense. But you're right that the 1/100th does give a cap to how old she can be before that rounding starts not making sense. Essentially, she's very likely somewhere between 1200 and 1400 years old.
@@Arkayjiya sorry have to disagree with that high number. I think 1100 is more reasonable. 1200 pushes it for me. But its all speculation until the author tells us her age. We have no idea Eisen's age either. On purpose of course.
The thing I’m most sad about is that I can’t binge the reaction to Frieren, like I’ve done with older ones. But I’m happy to be here at each upload to comment with everyone 🥰✨
The most beautiful about this episode is how, in their old age, her two remaining companions dedicated the remainder of their lifetimes NOT ONLY to ensuring that Frieren had a chance to talk with Himmel again, but did so in such a way that she can have a second chance at going on a 10-year journey with humans so that she can craft new memories built upon the new, foundational understanding she has for the meaning of communication and relationships. Assuming you've already seen the next episode, it's clear that both Eisen & Heiter prepared "successors" of a sort to join her on the journey they were preparing for her: so much love and sacrifice for a regretful comrade that it's heartbreakingly endearing.
8:40 sleeping like a husky is true, I have 3 and seen some odd sleeping positions, like beerholder from AoT, they can predict weather patterns with it😂😂
The first 4 episodes were shown in one night and this episode is a good bookend to the first episode which opened with Flamme's notes and how Frieren said it was a mere 10 year adventure. Finding out that Flamme was Frieren's master was incredible. So we know she's at least 1000 years old.
Fun fact: i always though flamme's name came from the famous alchemist Nicholas Flamel but it turns out its the german word for "flame" which contrasts frieren's name which in german means "freeze". Easy enough to tell from our first encounter with her in this episode why that could be significant to the story. ;)
I definitely love that line about heaven and plan to live by that. I'm not religious but I do believe in a Heaven. It doesn't matter if it exists or not. As Heiter said, people who give their all and do their best in life deserve to have a good afterlife. It's more convenient that way.
At the beginning of each episode, when it says "28 years after the death of Himmel the Hero" they play the melodoy of Stairway to Heaven. Now you know why. They are actually going to heaven, to meet the hero Himmel (which also means heaven in German)
There are a ton of amazing episodes in this series, but this one remains my favourite. Not only do we get the Flamme reveal (not to mention a callback to the text which opened the first episode of the series!), but we learn that Frieren's party continued to care for her even after they parted ways, and even into death. It's just an amazing series.
Eisen, I’m here to hang out. That reminds me, a good comedy anime to react to should be Asobi Asobase. Also, another thing to consider that the 10 year journey may not take that long this time. The original party pretty much mostly started at low levels and leveled up as they went along which means they grinded for level ups and that takes up time. By the end of their journey in the first episode, they were probably already at 100+ level. Basically Frieren is starting a new game + with all her previous stats intact. This can be seen in the third episode with that battle against Qual where in their first fight the original party of four couldn’t kill him but only seal him. Now, Frieren only needed Fern to utterly destroy Qual. Their journey may take less than 10 years but who really knows?
We are told in this universe they live to about 300 years. In this world there are just elves, no different kinds. We don't know how long they live, but thousands is reasonable.
RIP to Falmme VA Atsuko Tanaka who passed away on 20 August this year. She voiced legendry characters like bayonetta, Konan, Lisa Lisa, Hanami and Slan to name a few.

Can Frieren mark as a milestone as one of the most important manga and anime of this decade? Cuz both manga and anime version win a lot of award and they are still on top various ranking til now
For some context, clicking your tongue to express irritation is considered very rude in Japanese culture. Hence the scene with Frieren & Heiter, and Himmel's reaction.
So the purpose of their journey is to find Heaven, but did you know Himmel is german for the word Heaven.......... They are on a journey to discover Himmel :3

Flamme meaning "flame" in German, of course. Eisen meaning Iron, because of his Iron will but also Dwarves tend to be miners who mine for Iron ore among other precious metals. VA for konan in naruto too right? Rip

She also voiced Hanami in JJK. (and her first main character roll was Kusanagi Matoko in the original Ghost in the Shell movie)
Ghost in the Shell was one of the first anime I got into. I will always hear the Major from her voice.
She will be missed and remembered forever.

Yeah, one dwarf i knew lived for 343 years and he was counted as blessed with long life
Some are older than 300 :)
It varies from one fantasy setting to another.
giving info that is revealed in the show is a spoiler
Love how Flamme calls herself "the legendary mage", she really willed her own legend into existence xD

Given how little Frieren changes in 1000 years, Elves appear to take after the Tolkien verse in the sense of being biologically immortal.

define "a lot older".
We are told that 10 years was just 100th of her life, which would make it about 1000 years. So not that much older.

A fun question for you to think about is what role everyone has as the party grows. It surprised me when I thought about it.
The VA that voiced Flamme ( RiP) is the same VA that voiced Hanami in Jujutsu Kaisen

kinda want them to watch re zero.
Vote for a show with substance to it. Jfc. Such a waste. Solo Leveling is entertaining, but the characters are cardboard (outside of the sister) and there is no actual plot.
